Let me start by saying I really want to like Gator's! I live close to this location and was drawn in by the outdoor bar top and late night hours. But after a handful of visits I struggle to find anything great about this restaurant. If you're going to Gator's, go for the beer, the sports and maybe the wings but nothing else. Aside from the wings, I've had mozzarella sticks (some missing the mozzarella), nachos, and sliders and I'd say they're barely edible. Not to mention, the service isn't all that great either. Always somewhat enjoyed coming to Gators for drinks with my friends, watching games etc. But let me tell you, this young lady here acted as if I didn't exist for a good 5 minutes while I was trying to pick up my order. She was on the phone talking and laughing with whomever, as I didn't really hear or see her taking the order down. It was so apparent that I wasn't being helped that a worker from the back saw me and came and was able to assist me with an update. I just went to the bar area at this location for lunch. There was a shift change in the middle of my meal. I think it went fairly well but I preferred the service from one server than the other (not a big deal I guess). My food was great. I had the clams, but had to order an extra slice of bread for the wonderful sauce. They should add a little more (bread) to that dish; Just a suggestion. Laurie the waitress is extremely rude, raises her voice at customers, and has a very smart mouth. Food took forever and when we did get the food it was cold and my both of my baby cousins pizzas were burnt, the pizza looked like a quesadilla . My aunt also had a bug in her food. We were also the black people there and it seemed to us as if they were extremely dismissive to our needs while making sure to focus on other customers that were not black. Was there on Tuesday the 17th. The food was aawful and inedible. We took it all ttp go afterr trying it. The service was extremely slow coonsidering we were the only table. Lot of to go orders but dine ins should have come first. The spinach dip was thick and nasty. The chicken wings were dry and barely any meat. Fries were cold and mealy. Coleslaw wAs again nasty. The service was so slow. Employees were walking around talking in groups by the bar I don't know who was working. They all had drink cups in their hands. Overpriced chicken nuggets for "boneless wings" and well, it's about on par with Applebee's as you could get. It's not terrible, but it is a bit overpriced for what you're actually getting. I have been to many Gator's Dockside in my lifetime. However, I have never experienced such poor service like I did at this location!! To start off the place was pretty much completely empty. We were promptly seated and greeted by our waitress. Whom proceeded to ask for our drink order. When our table asked what specials they had for drinks we were given a very snarky response. She then asked for our Id's and after checking them walked off without taking our orders. She later returned to take our orders (10 min later - remember this place is empty!) and we each ordered our meals. This is where it went south very quickly. I placed an order for 6 wings she rang up 8! My friend specifically stated she did not want ranch or blue cheese yet it was brought and charged to her meal (she was also not told that ranch or blue cheese is an extra charge with her meal!!). She also asked to put in a to go order but was shut down immediately and was told to order when we get our meal "so it's warm and fresh when we leave". We also received our LUKE WARM bottled beers 15 min later (the bar is 3 feet away so not sure what took so long to bring bottled beers that were warm). Our food finally comes out which was good and we placed our to go order!!! Also when we asked our server for a to go box she gave us attitude and asked if we were leaving! ( there should be no questions asked if a customer just wants a to go box!) after responding no she returned 10 min later with a box. Finally when we ask for our checks (which took another 20 min) she returns to bring us all wrong checks! (She then leaves again for another 15 min). When she returns we inform her all of our checks were wrong we were again given snarky attitude. We then asked if the burger was ready and were told by our waitress she forgot to put it in and walks off (at this point we ask another employee to correct and cash out on our checks) She then returns with the correct checks and a poor fib in which she states "I actually put your burger in but it's under a separate check" HA! ( if that was true it would've been ready!) but of course we had to wait another 30 min to finally receive the burger. Overall, this was a horrible experience and we will NEVER be returning to this location. Such a shame because we live in the complex. However, our waitress had such a bad attitude and we received such poor service for an empty restaurant! Unfortunately I do have a lot of allergies and I try not to go out and eat to often because people roll their eyes when I start asking questions about the food. The girl that served me didn't but she was not very knowledgeable so she went to ask the manager about it and he said: Well everyone is ordering wings so the kitchen is busy so they might mess up your order. Excuse me? I am with a bunch of other people so after a couple of other questions that she didn't know how to answer (mind you, I had ask for a chef to talk to to avoid all this), I ended up ordering a salad without without without, not really what you looking for when you go out to have a good time. Our silverware were dirty, so we asked for plastic ones. My bf is been waiting for his beer for 15 min now (again, this happened with the fire beer already) because they are out of clean glasses - it's 8 on a Friday they have probably 5/6 tables in here. Food is here, my review went from being a 2 to 1 star (I was trying to be nice). I had to modify the Cobb due to my allergies and they literally threw half of a WAYYYYY to ripe avocado, one boiled egg and some tomatoes (10.99, they didn't even modify the price for taking the chicken away). I'm not one to leave a lot of reviews, but I'm extremely disappointed in this gators location. Every time I order through Uber eats or pickup, it's wrong. I ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap today with scooter sauce, it got delivered without any sauce or dressing - just fried chicken and lettuce. Last time I ordered, the side was missing. Seems like their kitchen needs to slow down and ensure orders are correct, or maybe there is an issue with their POS and details aren't getting communicated. NO. NO. NO. Visited this location for dinner on a Sunday and the service was deplorable. Our server was as sweet as can be but absolutely nothing went right. It was a nice spring evening so we chose to sit outside but 10 minutes went by and no server even came to ask us for our drink order so we relocated inside for some service. We asked for sugar on the rim of our margaritas but got salt which resulted in salty drinks. Rather than have them remade we got cups with sugar on the rim as if that changed the taste. Then when we finally get our food, the mac & cheese was subpar, broccoli was dry and the chicken might as well still been alive. I've been to other Gators locations and always enjoyed my time. Only reason I went to this one was because of the proximity to my home. I will drive the extra 10 minutes next times I'm craving Gators. read more

Gators dockside in sodo has been the worst experience at a restaurant, period. Upon arrival, we were seated outside and it took almost a half hour before we received our first drinks. 30 minutes later, the waitress told us the manager wanted to speak with us regarding our drink orders and that they are lacking more glassware to serve a party of 9. The manager wouldn't even come out and speak with us regarding the cold food served, drinks that came out 40 minutes in between, and even stated she was going to talk with us about ordering more than one drink at a time. Since it took so long, we started ordering double. Two of our food orders were not even delivered. I have never felt more disrespected by a restaurant ever in my life. Something seriously needs to be done from corporate to better this establishment. The manager, Stacia, is a coward. We had to request her name from the server since she wouldn't see us. All 9 of us will never return to this location and we highly recommend not coming to this location. read more

I was recently here with friends from Europe and we had the best time of our lives thanks to our Server. We had dinned here in the past, since it opened in 2015 and were not impressed. Our Server was spectacular, so much so that we even wrote the store and corporate to recognize the exceptionally good service we received and the memories we made. We went back hoping to get the same server (asked when we arrived if he was working) and we were told that he was fired! We were in shock, we obviously did not stay. The person that told us this said everyone loved him with the exception of a low-level manager who constantly tormented him and made derogatory comments about him because apparently he was gay. This had been reported to the General Manager from what we were told and they did nothing. We did not care, he was personable and made our guests memorable during their stay. There is no room for intolerance towards other people, be it on age, race, gender or sexual orientation. I don't know our Servers last name however this weekend we are going to file a formal complaint with the EEOC as well as the Florida Human Rights commission and we have gay friends who offered to accompany us and we are going to request an appointment with the Director of the "Center" they called it on Mills Avenue about requesting an official boycott of this intolerant establishment by the LGBT Community. This is the most obscene behavior by someone in a position of authority that we have ever witnessed and I would encourage anyone who reads this review who may also be a target of discrimination - avoid this location it is obvious YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE. Rating of 3 total trips. Came here twice on Friday night around 9 pm for a quick dinner because both me and one of my friends I went with didn't feel like cooking. Casual sports bar type environment with plenty of bar seating inside and outside, TVs all around and many booths and tables inside. Went to the bar every time and got some Sweet Water IPA, Guinness, all were solid. What I really like about this place is that almost every day they run some type of food or drink special. For example, one day they have all you can eat wings, other day its 8 bucks burgers with 4 toppings of your choice (the basics like tomato, lettuce, etc are already included. The toppings you can ask for are like cheeses, bacon, sauces, etc). Burgers come with a solid bun, meat is cooked as ordered and it's just a chunk of for a meal so you will leave the restaurant satisfied. The burgers come with fries and it's just a great value for your buck. The only objection I have is the time. Out of the 3 visits to the bar, twice the entire process from start to finish took just too long, one waitress for the bar may not be quite enough on a busier days. But besides the longer wait, solid spot. If you're in town for your favorite game, solid beer, nice atmosphere, and some great burger, check out the Dockside and let your taste buds do the judging. Gator's Dockside is fun, casual sports bar in a convenient location. The outdoor area is really nice and dog friendly! My husband and I really like to bring our dog with us here for dinner. The outdoor seating area is very nice, and the waiters always are happy to bring out a water bowl for the dog. I greatly prefer the outdoor area because it has a much nicer look. The interior of the restaurant is a bit tacky looking and very loud. Also, the outdoor bar is indoor/outdoor and is fun spot to sit. Wednesday is all-you-can-eat boneless wings for $10.99! This is a great deal and my husband loves to go for this special. I usually get the grilled wingers and they are really good. Much better than the similar grilled chicken offered by Buffalo Wild Wings (though I much prefer BWW's boneless wings). However, do not order the "grilled wings" if you expect to receive wings that have only been grilled. These wings are first fried and THEN grilled. Get the grilled wingers instead. The Parmesan Garlic sauce here is amazing. It's got a buffalo base and a really great flavor. My husband likes the Honey Garlic and the Sweet BBQ as well. The draft beer list is okay, but they don't usually carry anything too exotic. The prices are fairly reasonable. Drinks can sometimes take a while. Our servers have always been friendly, but they are usually a bit slow. I assume this is the fault of the kitchen/bar? A solid dining experience with improved service. My wife and I were a little nervous about going to this Gator Dockside due to some of the reviews. However, most of the reviews concerned the service rather than the food, so we took a chance since it was unlimited boneless wing night and this venue is a good place to bring a dog. This Gator's is located in the heart of the Sodo shopping plaza. While the inside is your basic sportsbar, the outside has several tables and an awesome outside bar circling 2 parts of the restaurant with many televisions. While this is great for sporting events, we decided to sit down at a table. The waitress came up with some menus and a bowl full of water for the dog (always good) and started telling us about drinks. My wife doesn't really care for IPAs, but Gator's beer list is predominantly made up of IPAs and/or cheap beers, so the waitress recommended a Sam Adams seasonal IPA that doesn't have as much of the IPA hops flavor, which my wife ended up liking. I put in my order for unlimited wings and she put in hers for grilled wings. While it did take a little while for the wings to come out, the restaurant was pretty busy and the time wasn't unreasonable. When the unlimited wings plate came out, I had 8 wings (was supposed to be 12 the first time, but it was unlimited and I didn't mind) with fries on top. The grilled wings turned out to actually be fried wings that were grilled, so my wife asked to send them back. She wasn't going to want a replacement at first, but the waitress recommended grilled wingers instead. They brought those out, and my wife really liked them! I was glad they were able to solve the problem and make her happy. All of my wings were pretty good (close to BWW level but not quite there), while my wife's wingers were better and healthier than most other wing options. We tried sweet barbecue, Garlic Parmesan (our favorite), and honey garlic. All the flavors were very good (our dog especially liked trying a small bit of each one) and the fries made for a nice touch with the wings. Overall, this Gator's Dockside location lives up to its reputation for really good food, and I believe that they have heard the complaints about service because they seemed to work hard to meet our needs and ensure we had a pleasant time. read more

Great location and brand new. I love Gators Own Hot sauce. So much so that I buy it by the quart for when I grill my own wings at home. My only complaint is that most of the Gator's Docksides are pretty old and could use a thorough cleaning. But not this place. Brand spanking new and a great location on top of it. I'm a huge fan of their grilled "Daytona Style" wings and the Gators Own Hot sauce flavor. It's pretty rare for me to stray from that one menu item, but I've been with others that got different sauces and meals and they've all said it was good. We ordered buffalo chicken dip and as I went to take a bite out of it my boyfriend noticed a hair in the dip. We politely let the server know and he took it back. Within five minutes they had brought us out "new" dip. The food runner commented that luckily it was a quick remake even though we had just waited 15min in the first place. The top of the dip was hard and dried.... clearly not fresh, and I could see where I had started to take a bite out of the dip before. There was also a smear on the plate where the hair was. Clearly instead of remaking it they pulled the hair out and reserved it. Never left a review until now but this is pretty disgusting and despicable service. I had the opportunity to stop in here for dinner the last two evenings. I have been to other Gator's Dockside locations over the years, and it is either hit or miss. Fortunately, this one is a hit. Good food and service in a great location. The Wingers are fantastic! Breaded chicken breasts strips coated in hot sauce and served with celery and ranch/blue cheese. A great appetizer, but I can make a meal out of these. Go with Gator's Own Hot Sauce if you like it hot. But there are several other sauces from mild, medium, hot, to "you gotta be ******* kidding me!" available. Their Fish and Chips are good. Four decent sized fish filets served with French fries, cole slaw, and tarter sauce. Malt vinegar is available for the asking. The breading is tempura style, making the filets light and flakey. When I came in last night to watch the Houston Rockets-New Orleans Pelicans game, I started off with the Wingers appetizer (Did I tell you that these are fantastic?), then I went with the Chicago Beef sandwich. Marinated Italian beef served on a roll with lettuce tomato, pickle, and onion. You need a third hand for this sandwich. Plenty of tasty sliced beef topped with enough veggies to make a salad! I got an order of French fries as the side. Service is great. The staff is friendly, and they make a point to ask every guest if they need anything. Or just to ask how your meal is. Gator's Dockside has a full liquor bar, and several beers are available on draft. Outdoor seating is also available. Which brings up one point I would like to mention. There are tables on the patio and chairs outside along the bar. This is ideal for warm weather and cool evenings. But when it gets cold and windy, you better have a jacket. I don't know why there are no outdoor propane heaters around the outdoor dining area. I will most likely be back. Gator tail is available on the appetizer menu. Been open just 4 days now and the entire staff need a lot of work I literally had my chair bumped by waiters two dozen times and when I complained none of the managers came by the table to say a word. One pointed at me while talking to each server not a very pleasant experience while you're eating, and the other one followed me out of the restaurant when my group was done eating.
