I usually have great experiences with Gateway. But the lady who did my nails had cut me multiple times after saying ouch. As you can see, there was a ton of powder on my nails that did not get brushed off. The Acrylic is on my actual finger and I have to pick it off. I've been to Gateway a few times but decided to try them again after being on that side of town. I went in excited to get my nails done for the Fourth of July. I wasn't asking for anything extravagant just French tips with a couple of blue stars. the French tips themselves were very sloppy and uneven...the guy then after attempting the stars several times had to go get another nail tech but even her efforts were terrible. I'm not a very confrontational person but after realizing I spent 90$ for them to look like shit I walked right back in and tried to reason with them but they fought me tooth and nail on not giving me any kind of refund. When the guy finally agreed to give me half back the lady up at the front was being sketchy and didn't want to print me out a receipt....I stood there until she finally agreed to print me one out. They knew what they were doing trying to say they were gonna give me a partial refund and then not really wanting to do it, so I stood there until she finally decided to print one out. Told me to let her know if it doesn't show up on my bank account, yep, you bet I will! Thanks Lucas for ruining my nail experience. If I could give zero stars I definitely would. read more

Had a really good experience here, got in right away on a holiday too! My nail tech was Eric, he was really funny and made the experience much better. I could tell he really wanted to do a good job as well which made me feel less nervous because it was my first time here. As a big supported of small business and an owner of 2 small businesses, I know how hard it can be to appease a diverse group of people. But, here we are. This place is beautiful. Truly. Layout is gorgeous lights are done well with esthetically pleasing layouts. Convenient location. I was welcomed as soon as I entered. And that is why there is a A SINGLE star. Without sounding like a petty complainer, I will sum it up to this: The reviews are correct, there is NO CUSTOMER service. The man working in me was rough and had no compassion for join pain or hand issues. And if there is a mistake, well it is obviously your fault. Three people, three horrible experiences, no second chances. The absolute worse experience at a nail salon I've ever experienced, and all I had done was a simple manicure. read more

Really wanted to like this place as I was referred by someone. The place itself is beautiful, however, the man doing my manicure and pedicure was extremely rough. My cuticles were sore for several days after for how rough he pushed them down. I left bleeding in 3 different spots on my nails. At one point, he was not even filing my nail, but my skin itself, leaving a painful cut. The gel manicure and regular polish pedicure began cracking in less than a week. I went in for a pedicure and to have the acrylic taken off of my nails and do dip with cute Valentine designs. The guy that did my pedicure was a little rude at first but I just let it go and the end result was good. Not sure why it's extra $19 to put gel on when I already have gel though. My nail tech I showed a picture before he ever started and instead of just telling me he couldn't do it he just said ok he would try. It was just a heart and the word love nothing crazy. I ended up with no design because he couldn't do and I guess didn't want to ask for help. So I went in excited to get my valentines nails and left with nails a color I didn't pick but settled for. It's been years since I've left a nail place not completely happy with how they turned out. Knowing I have to pay an extra fee to get a pedicure with gel when I have gel I probably won't even go back for a pedicure. I've paid more for gel but not that much. I'm just disappointed and I don't even live here to give a second chance. Also the website says spend $100 get a gift card and i definitely did not get that. read more

i came to this salon super excited because 1. my sisters nails always look good when she comes here and 2. because i haven't had my nails done in 4 months. when i got there they were super quick to sit me down (i had an appt) and they gave me this older woman that had short brown hair, i didn't get her name. she barely talked to me which i'd assume it's because of language barrier. the whole time she was doing my nails i felt rushed and judged. i told her i wanted tapered square which apparently she didn't know what that was. i told her to keep filing FOUR times and by the forth time she got so fed up she handed me the file and i swear to god she shit talked abt me to her coworker.. even my friend noticed her doing this. after awhile she said that the shape i "wanted" was coffin and charged me extra. which isn't true because all of the other salons i've been to called this shape tapered square. pretty sure she just wanted the extra money. even after shaping they still looked horrible. i told her i wanted them to match the bottom of my nail bed, to make them narrow and sharp. she asked me if i liked them but i just gave up at that point and said yes (i was gonna try to fix them when i got home). not to mention she was so rough with my nails. she wasn't patient at all and gave me plenty of attitude. after awhile i felt so uncomfortable i just wanted to leave. i kept looking at my nails and wanted to cry. they looked like a set of nails from 2004 and done by someone who's done nails twice. not to mention she told me i have two different sized thumbnails to cover up the fact that she put the wrong size on them. my nails are NOT two different sizes. a couple of my nails were put on crooked, are lumpy, and one nail is grainy. i shouldn't of paid and just walked out. if you come here and they try to give you this lady, PLEASE ask for a different one. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because the lady was kind & polite. I went in for a simple manicure. The exterior and interior was up to date and there appeared to be ample attendents. So, why not? Absolutley, worst manicure ever. Terrible with cuticle removal, uneven nail filing and thick uneven tacky polish application. Had my hands in the drying bin for 20 minutes and even 2 hours later, the polish is not dry... There are too many salons, go somewhere else. read more

My new go to nail salon. Friendly staff, clean environment, tons of nail color choices, and I've never had to wait when I go in.

This place is AMAZING! The atmosphere is so relaxing, a true spa experience. The pedicure I received was one of the best I've ever had. She did a fantastic job and I didn't feel like she was trying to rush through my pedicure, which is the case at many places I've gone to. I will definitely be back! read more

I made an appointment to avoid waiting. They seated us right away but I've literally been soaking my feet for 30 minutes. The manager said everyone makes appointments or the wait is 45-60 minutes. Maybe you need more techs? Badly managed. read more

Horrible experience. Made an appointment with my friend & her nails were finished before mine were started. Technician didn't pay attention to the sheet I filled out & neglected to do the manicure I asked for. Did not shape my nails like I asked & I was cut on multiple fingers. It has been one week & my thumb nail just popped off. My friend had uneven shaped nails, & was also cut badly. The staff was very rude when we pointed out what we were unhappy with. I will never be back & would encourage anyone else to not give Gateway Nail their business. THE FACT THAT THEY ARE ARGUING WITH CUSTOMERS NOT SATISFIED WITH THEIR SERVICE SAYS IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! The technician did NOT apologize to me & while I was there I overheard two other customers complaining. THIS PLACE IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL IT IS TRULY ASTONISHING. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! customer services!!!!! I had my nails done a week ago today. within two days I had to have my thumb repaired, and a day later every other nail was cracking on Sunday. I went in the following Week to try get them to fix them with proof it hadnt even been a week, the lady I spoke with walked away when I was trying to explain to her my situation and why I couldn't fix them today but wouldn't even let me try and make an appointment to get them fixed. when I tried to come back today, the man I spoke with was just as rude and absolutely refuses to fix the bad job his nail tech did on my nails but can reply to a google review stating I can't complain when it's been over 2weeks, and when I show him proof on my bank statement that it's been a week today and I had already had several crack and one already repaired, he walks off and refuses to talk to me. will never return here again and I suggest everyone consider this review before choosing this nail salon! read more
