Options to sit inside or outside with firepit outside as it got cooler. Menu had good options. Started with the red pepper artichoke dip to share - nice and filling. Seafood sancocho was delicious and just the right portion though it might look small. pork schnitzel was also good. Too full to have dessert. No gaslighting here... I'm so happy Lake George is backkk and better than ever and Gaslight of Lake George is great dine in spot. Indoors and outdoor seating. Right on the strip where the action is. Service was fast and smooth. Very friendly staff. The right staff for when you are on vacation. Made us feel right at home.. That pineapple jalapeno Margarita was my choice off the nice cocktail menu. Of course they take note of what is Gluten Free which is a great touch. So I ended up ordering Shishito Peppers. Not sure why the negative reviews. We were starved after driving in to Lake George and it was close to many hotels. Had the airplane chicken (takes 25-30 minutes), and fish of the day (panko crushed fish). Both came w potatoes and string beans. SO good! Highly recommend. read more

The ambience was very nice and the staff were super friendly. It was the perfect place to celebrate our first anniversary. So glad my family and I stopped in here for dinner last night. I am not exaggerating when I say that they have the best food, hands down, that I've had in a while. All the dishes my family ordered were so delicious and right on par with a restaurant that you would frequent somewhere like Williamsburg, Brooklyn (without the swanky prices). We ordered the lentil soup, fried gnocchi, semolina sticks, meatloaf, kids Mac and cheese, and the pizza special- mozzarella, spinach, and bacon. We could tell that each dish was made with high quality ingredients, so good! Friendly service, will definitely be coming back here. read more

Late post. I celebrated my birthday here with friends last month. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The space is really nice. Our table was by the fireplace which was absolutely lovely. They have an outdoor area that was surprisingly warm with the space heaters despite the polar vortex weather -15 degree temps that weekend. The food was absolutely delicious. Had the scallops with risotto and my fiancée had the steak which was cooked to perfection. Hope the pizza oven will be on if we get to come back again. read more

Our new favorite spot. As a local, Lake George has a lot of bars, not a lot of goods one. However, Gaslight is a fun yet peaceful candlelit bar with great food, great drinks, and music that is at a volume you don't have to raise your voice to have a conversation. Bartenders, waiters, and cooks are all so kind and friendly. Our bartender made us a special coffee drink called the Roshambo, had us up all night! In a town that has no shortage of mediocre eateries (but, with a view!), hit up Gaslight if you're seeking something more gastronomically-pleasing. Also, it's dark AF in here. I like it. Lake George is an area in which I have fond childhood memories. But I haven't been back since then and while a whole lot hasn't changed (dig all the roadside motels), things are crazy expensive (400 a night for a roadside motel? Whaaat?) and honestly, I wasn't terribly impressed nor inspired to return. Gaslight, however, was an exception to my two day nostalgia trip to let-downville. On the menu: small and medium plates, entrees and individual pizzas. They are careful with dietary restrictions. Our server was the bartender who was helping out the short staffed servers and he was awesome and attentive. I had questions and he apologetically told me he needed to talk to the kitchen as he wasn't normally serving tables. I very much appreciated that and was able to order the thoroughly delicious Brussels (super crispy the way they should always be) and hummus trio (their pillowy house made dough is vegan). While far from the best hummus I've ever had (I suspect it's not made in-house), the flatbread made it next level and it's a very generous portion (besides, hummus is almost always good even when it's not that next level kind). The cocktails and wine list is pretty basic but they know how to read the room. No, this is not the place for a smoking cocktail with various shrubs and bitters and liquors you've never heard of before. And yes, sometimes you need an espresso martini (expertly made by our friendly bartender, I might add). The ambiance lives up to the name. Any place that has most people using their phone to see the menu has a place in my heart. So while my review for Lake George might include the words "tourist trap," Gaslight was a nice departure from the norm of 20 dollar plates of frozen food. read more

Copying this in from my Google review so it can reach a wider audience I wasn't going to post a review as my wife already did, but once the restaurant replied to her review blaming our son for "reaching across the table" I needed to leave my own review. The person who brought out our food (not our server but a younger guy) was carrying multiple items (my seafood sancocho, my son's fries, Mac and cheese and chicken tenders). He was leaning across the table to bring my sancocho and fumbled the other items spilling the ketchup on my son, WHO WAS SEATED. The guy almost spilled the sancocho as well but I grabbed it from him (yes the bowl was hot). The guy was apologetic and it was an accident but I'm not going to let the owner come on here and say it's my son's fault. I'm appalled by the response by this restaurant, but I guess I shouldn't be. This restaurant actually gaslights their patrons. Also, the sancocho wasn't good either - a bit salty and the broth tasted more like pho. read more

During this pandemic, my husband and I have tried to help local restaurants by ordering take-out or visiting the taverns and fine dining establishments that have outside (summer/fall) or inside dining (with restrictions, of course) on occasion. We do take every precaution to remain safe, wearing our masks, washing our hands, and using the hand sanitizer I made last year for family and friends. I chose Gaslight (casual tavern) in Lake George this year for Valentine's Day, booking a reservation through OpenTable about six weeks prior. I requested a table by the fireplace. When we arrived, on time, the hostess seated the two of us at a table for eight which was at the opening of a very busy kitchen. I mean, the kitchen door swung open right onto the table, which was in the middle of the room. She never looked at our reservation. I politely asked her if we could be moved. While there were a number of small tables (occupied - one should have been planned for us) along the wall in the dining room, she placed us at a high top (which caught the breeze every time the door opened to the outside) in the bar area. That was our only option. I asked to speak with the manager, Frank. He came to our table and I explained that this situation was unacceptable, mentioning that I had booked a reservation weeks ago. He checked, and he confirmed the reservation and noted my request to be by the fireplace. Fortunately, the occupants at the table by the fireplace were getting ready to leave so Frank told us to order drinks - on the house (thank you, Frank) - and that he would move us as soon as the table became available. Our server, Andrea, moved us within 10 minutes. So here's the low-down on the rest of our evening: - My Lemondrop Martini was devoid of the Tito's vodka I had requested. There was absolutely no vodka taste at all. In fact, it tasted watered down, like lemon water. Very disappointing. - My husband ordered a Strawberry Mojito. Again, not even a hint of alcohol. - We ordered Garlic Parm Chicken Wings. They were crisp but not much flavor. Garlic? Parm? Not happening. Two planks each of carrot and celery. The blue cheese dressing was decent. - We also ordered this funky bread which came with a spread. However, much to our dismay, the server placed the small white bowl on the table out of our line of sight, and we didn't notice the spread until some of the dishes and glasses were cleared away. Too bad because it would have been a nice enhancement to the otherwise tasty bread. - For my entrée, I chose Mussels and Frites in a Garlic Wine Sauce. I asked for the frites (fries) to be very, very crisp - almost burnt (we all laughed about this). What I received was a bowl with mussels on the bottom and a generous helping of the soggiest mess of fries that I have ever seen. They were inedible. No sauce, so the mussels were kind of dry. Some evidence of commercial garlic on the shells. So bad I couldn't even get a good photo. - The Scallops with Couscous and Butternut Squash Purée was very interesting. The scallops were good. The couscous felt salty to him. The butternut squash was sweet. Not bad. We did not order desert or coffee. So here are the positives. Frank and Andrea tried to make a bad situation better with their good customer service. In any other restaurant, they would get 5 or 4 stars. On the other hand, the hostess who seated us and never checked our reservation when we arrived should be reprimanded. No excuse; she wasn't that busy. My husband said he would give them another try but order pizza and burgers next time. I am not so sure I feel the same way because of the watered down drinks. On top of everything else, that really bothered me. We have sooo many restaurants in our neck of the ADKs that I think I will focus on giving other dining establishments my business on the few occasions that we actually go out right now. After all, Gaslight is about 35 minutes away from us and we can be in downtown Saratoga Springs - which has a huge selection of great places to eat - in 20 minutes. P.S. Frank (I guess he's the owner) replied that I 'threatened' him with a poor Yelp review. This is simply not true. With that in mind, you can rest assured we won't be returning. read more

Me and my boyfriend were in Lake George for our winter break. It was so unfortunate that many places were not open and we could not figure out which businesses were open. Thankfully we drove by Gaslight and the lights were shining and beautifully arranged in the front of the restaurant. Make sure you call ahead if you go around a regular dinner time , when we were going there were reservations for all the tables. We sat at the bar and it was nice and covid friendly with the protectors between other people if they decided to eat the bar. The bar didn't bother us, they lit a nice candle in front of us. If it wasn't as cold as it was I wish I could have sat outside with the fire pits. They are so nice. The best part of the bar was the bartender. He was amazing and so friendly! He gave us the perfect amount of attention as well. Now to the food.... The pizza was very delicious!! I got the Ludwig and it was the perfect amount of toppings. The crust was crispy like I like as well. My boyfriend got the Harvest Bowl with chicken. He said it was a mix between rice and greens were cold, while the sweet potato and chicken were hot which made for a good contrast. We also got the fries and they were different in a good way. I can't explain what it is, but we enjoyed them Inside: The ambiance is so relaxing. The vibes are nice and I loved the dim lights with the fireplace. Everyone that worked there was so kind and I was surprised since it looked like a busy night. We went around 7pm. In Lake George most of the places serve the same Sysco BS catering to low budget bottom feeder tourists. Sorry, but It's true. Gaslight is intentionally different. They care enough to serve what they know is good food and don't cater to the lowest common denominator. The food is unique and fresh. They serve Small plates, Delicious veggies, kale, carrots, bruschetta, Brussel sprouts, and have a proper late night menu too. The have a full pizza oven and wide variety of options. It's ok for families until around 8. Afterwards it becomes more of a cocktail lounge. They're constantly refining their dishes and inventing new cocktails. If you've already been here... you know and you'll go back. If you haven't been here yet...Definitely Go here, expect something different from the rest of Lake George restaurants and you'll be happy. read more

Love that this place has some more upscale offerings than most LG cuisine. The staff was great, seating was easy and the ambiance is nice. Most of our dishes including the wood fired pizza were spot on and enjoyable. The menu is appealing, but the food is poorly prepared. Our party of 10 was so dissappinted in each of our meals that many did not finish. At least the portions are small. I've seen this at other restaurants in tourist towns. A clever menu is created to draw in patrons but no real effort in making food that lives up to the menu. Tourists leave town, and no focus is needed by the restaurant into establishing a base of repeat clients. It's a shame. read more

Went to Gaslight based in star ratings on here and was very disappointed. We did not order the pizza so I can't speak to that but what we did have took a very long time to reach the table and was not good at all. The timing I would chalk up to being short staffed but we were one of two tables in the whole place. There were three of us. One of us ordered the linguine and clams which was like soup. The pasta was completely submerged in liquid and the flavor was very odd. Fresh and tasty clams but odd tasting broth. The gaslight burger was over cooked and dry with not much flavor and over seasoned fries. Very salty! Finally the steak frites had a reasonably tasty sauce but was thin and pre-sliced, which made it dry and somewhat overdone, maybe from sitting under a heat lamp or heated table? Not sure. I am not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from but I found this place to be a big disappointment. Servers were very pleasant and attentive. read more

Wish I could give this place ZERO STARS. Scallops was flavorless amd was served on a metal plate similar to dog's bowl. The $33 plate of seafood sancocho was also flavorless. Nothing in this place was worth this price. Server was okay. The person who brought food to our table (who seemed overwhelmed) and almost spilled the hot sancocho on our small child but instead spilled ketchup on his shirt. He should've not carried multiple plates if he couldn't handle them. The fact this restaurant blamed our child for the "ketchup debacle" says a lot about the management here. Our child was seated and REMAINED SEATED even after the staff who brought the food out dropped the ketchup on him. If my husband didn't take the soup from the servers other hand, it would've dropped on our child too. No excuse for this. Train your people better and do not let them carry multiple things unless they can manage them. I stand by my previous review. This place was a complete waste of time and money. We went for brunch on Sunday. Beautiful place, loved being able to sit outside while still in the full shade. Happy to see no restrictions on the Bottomless mimosas. The bartender makes an excellent espresso martini! They were accommodating on the menu as they didn't have many options for plain janes. 4 stars: The frittata was undercooked, the eggs were soupy. The crème brule was cold custard and I prefer it on the warm side. Also, note the prices on the menu were incorrect. They must have raised them without reprinting the menus. We were seated right away as it wasn't very busy and the was very pleasant she told us someone would be right with us That's where the good experience ended. We sat for over 10 minutes noone ever came to see if we wanted a drink or anything. 2 servers walked past us and basically looked over us. We felt invisible so we just decided to leave. If service starts out poorly it usually doesn't improve through the rest of the meal so instead of getting more aggravated we left. Went to adirondack brewery and service was outstanding. This was my first visit to The Gaslight. The rating could have been lower due to lack of restaurant quality napkins and the server forgetting my wife's order. However, the food was delicious. I had a burger which was very tasty and well prepared. 2 kids had pizza which was not your ordinary pizza. There was plenty to go around and all enjoyed. My wife had the Ahi Tuna bowl which she enjoyed. The server did take 50% off my wife's order since it was quite a delay in making it. This was appropriate and appreciated. When looking for restaurants to eat on vacation, I came across gaslight which had high reviews. I should've read them a bit more. Service was a bit awkward and slow. We ordered the corn soup and 2 pizzas (margherita and prosciutto). The soups took forever to come out and the pizzas came out about 5 mins after the soup. I was still working on the soup. The soup was very bland. I added more salt and pepper but didn't really make a difference. The pizza was okay. Not terrible but I've had better too. The prosciutto one was better than margherita. It was just a little salty. There was way too much mozzarella on the margherita pizza so I was overstuffed. The blistered tomatoes though were tasty. The overall pizza crust was good too and had a nice char from the oven. read more

Didnt have any cocktails because of that. Ordered margarita pizza and a steak salad to share. Price was on the higher side yet still reasonable for what we ordered. Pros: Steak was cooked as ordered (med rare). Staff was friendly Cons: Service was slow on food. Margarita pizza was NOT a margarita. Had way too much cheese on it and sun dried tomatoes ? Bottom was soggy. Steak salad had a vinaigrette that was pretty much just vinegar. Barely Tolerable for me and I can just use balsamic as a dressing ordinarily. Owner/manager did come around and ask about things. We decided it was easier to say all was ok we had already waited a long time for our food and were disappointed but too hungry for anything else. They aren't terrible by any means but have a lot to work out yet. read more
