Some reviewers have written about how fun it is, and I'm not sure why. Not great....but good enough. Food was a bit cafeteria style, but my main hang up is the environment. We were seated quickly, as it was early, and a group of wait staff was at the back of the room talking rather loudly. It felt a little unprofessional. The "Fresh" haddock we ordered three days ago was the driest piece of fish I have ever seen/attempted to eat. There was absolutely no moisture whatsoever remaining. For $16.00 you receive a piece of dry fish and a scoop of potato. That is it!!! I will go back to the other restaurants any day and receive fresh fish, cooked appropriately and ACCOMPANIED with potato AND veggie....AND FOR LESS $$$$$....AND DELICIOUS!!!! I called the owners the next day and NEVER received a return call. I attempted to reach one of them the second day, spoke with the wife of Warren. She advised her husband would call me back as soon as he came in. I NEVER received a return call. I called a third day, and the person answering the phone insisted I tell her the problem...even though I emphatically requested speaking with Warren. I insisted she find Warren for me which she reluctantly did. Upon speaking with Warren he acknowledged receiving the calls and "DID NOT HAVE TIME IN TWO DAYS TO RETURN THE CALLS!" He asked what i wanted and I advised him he could read about my experience on SOCIAL MEDIA. Our advice...STAY AWAY FROM GARRISONS IF you want good food! read more

This place used to be my favorite place to eat where I live locally, but it has definitely gone downhill. I didn't mind paying more than the average for their meals, but when I had to ask twice for a simple thing like grated cheese and never got it, that's it for me. I am guessing that there are new owners where they are only interested in the bar area where they make their profits. If I was an owner, guess that I would get that. Liked the atmosphere, drink and fried pickles were good. Didn't get past that. Service was horrible and waitress was unpleasant. Everyone else around us had silverware when we asked for it was like we were bothering her she then comes back with a snail fork Was not meant for that type of food. Everyone else got their drinks in a timely manner but we waited about 20mins. Everyone else got bread she did not serve us any. Everyone else had real napkins she tossed the silverware with paper napkins on ours and I mean tossed and took off. Never came back to check on us so at that point we knew time to pay bill and leave. Went to manager who just smiled at us knowing how unhappy we were never even asked what was wrong. Terrible service and management. Really was hoping to enjoy since we liked the atmosphere and apps and drinks thats why I even gave the 1 star. read more

When they have it available...the prime rib is excellent. Unfortunately there seems to be increasing instances of not having any available. Approximately a month ago my wife and I went to Garrisons on a Friday night between 6:30-7:00 pm. We asked for prime rib but we're told they were out. How can you be out of prime rib at the very beginning of a weekend? We spoke to the owner, asked him why, and he said "higher demand than usual". He also seemed to make light of the situation. Last week we went again, this time on a Saturday at 7:00 pm. Again we asked for prime rib, and again we were told they were out. I don't know if this is a sign of poor management, disinterest in customer demand, or lack of supply. My opinion is that the rest of the menu is mediocre, but the prime rib competes with the best restaurants in the state. Too bad Garrison's doesn't seem to be managing their demand well, and is certainly likely to lose us as customers. Let's hope the owner does a better job ensuring his best entree is available on popular weekend nights. read more

The place was packed. My family and I got seated right away. We got cocktails and ordered our diner. We were seated with other families. Felt at home. I got the surf and turf Prime Rib and Baked Scallops which was awesome. Got the kids a cookie Sunday to split and my wife and I had an espresso martini. Service was timely, food was very good, server was a sweet young woman that was very pleasant and accommodating. I'm happy this restaurant is in my town. We will return. read more

For a place with several burgers on the menu, you should be able to cook them to order. Ordered a medium rare burger and got a well done one. My daughter had a dentist appt. next door so didn't have time to send it back. Kaylan B was our server she did her job well. From the owners to the managers to the cooks. Arrived 15 minutes earlier then our reservation time, we were seating after just a few minutes, to our surprise. Our waitress, Hanna, immediately arrived to greet us and take our drink order. She went out of way to provide my brother-in-law and me with the blue cheese olives we had ordered for our martinis, something the restaurant does not normally do. Drinks were outstanding all around. Hanna was very pleasant and accommodating, I had ordered the Prime Rib, which was excellent. The Veal Oscar, a special that night, ordered by my brother-in-law was also superb. My wife and my brother-in-laws wife had ordered the surf and turf, tips and stuffed shrimp, and baked seafood trio, which were cooked to perfection. I cannot relate how much we enjoyed our time at Garrison's, food and service were top notch. I have to say that Hanna was also instrumental in making our night out a success. Went for a family dinner last weekend. I ordered a filet mignon, medium rare and the florentine rice. Everyone's meals came out except mine. The server didn't notice my empty place and it took a few minutes to be able to flag her down. When asked where my dinner was, she said "oh it will be a few minutes" I suspect she never put the order in. That's ok - things happen. But then, when my food came out, the meat was like shoe leather. I couldn't even eat it. Since it came out so late, there was no time to send it back - everyone else was practically done with their meal already. I didn't want to make a stink on my mom's birthday, and my sister in law who planned the dinner would have been horrified, so I let the incident go. However, I would not eat there again. read more

My friends went to Garrisons with their father and mother who has Alzheimer's . After dinner they moved to the bar to hear the band. They met someone who specializes in Alzheimer's. This woman encouraged their mother to sing You Are My Sunshine along with her. It was videoed and the mother remembered all the words and hugged the woman when the song was over. The waiter came over and told them they were shutt off because of their sick mother and customers were complaining about her singing. This is totally acceptable! I have passed this information to my family and all their friends..none of us will ever patronize Garrisons again! read more

Worst experience ever!!! Just went to garrisons. I ordered calamari for my daughters meal and prime rib with a salad for my son and I . The salad never came out until I had to ask for it after our meals were brought out. Then he asked we'll do you still want it? Yes we would! Then the calamari came out with a gigantic hair cooked into it. I stopped the manager who had brought it out to the table and he insinuated that it was my daughters hair! It was on the table for 30seconds and the hair was cooked into it! He then said we'll do you want another one or something else? I said we'd like calamari with no hair! They never comped anything or offered us anything for this disastrous experience! I was a regular and I won't be back ! read more

I've never had a bad meal here. Ever. Let's start with the service: the bar is generally quite busy, so prepare to wait. Also, because the food is so phenomenal, prepare to wait 20-30 minutes for a table on the weekends - the place can get packed. The lounge is loud however, it's my favorite spot to sit with my husband. They bring you the most amazing warm bread that has this parmesan coating on it - you're going to want, like, 3 baskets. My husband's favorite thing here is "The Garrison." Which is just a huge burger that also has corned beef, turkey, bacon, & a poached egg. It's great. We both love the steak tips, which melt in your mouth. Amazing. We've had the Chicken Parm: better than any Italian Restaurant that I've been to. We've had the fish & chips, which we're great. My favorite item on the menu is the Prime Rib. It's spectacular (so is the mashed potatoes & the sweet potato fries). This place is comfort food HEAVEN. It's extremely reasonable as far as price - probably cheaper than anywhere you've gone. The drinks are fantastic: I even asked the owner if he'd consider having a craft cider on the menu, and they've been carrying it ever since. The service is great, although be patient on a weekend night: they're busy, come hungry, & don't be in a rush. This place is great for families, work parties, girl's night out, or date nights. My husband and I prefer this place over any other restaurant within a 20+ mile radius. (And I used to be in the restaurant business). Well, done. This will remain our favorite spot. read more

EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT...without fail. I look forward to it all week. Melissa is our waitress but if she has no tables open we are never disappointed by having any of the staff wait on us. Tammy, Michelle and Vanessa at the bar are phenomenal and Patrick always greets us at the desk with a hearty hello and smile. The food? Not gourmet by any means but definitely MORE than adequate. Ordered food for Xmas Eve from Garrisons. They were extremely attentive. Helped carry food out to car. On time for order pick up and food was hot. I can't say enough about how delicious the food was. Ordered the lasagna, chicken broccoli and ziti, shrimp scampi, meatballs and garlic bread. Definitely the most delicious meatballs ever had. The shrimp in the scampi was a hit!! My husband and I went for dinner here while we waited for our daughter that was at a birthday party up the street. We went in around 4:30 for an early dinner. I wanted to order a martini but wasn't sure on which one to go with. The waitress was very nice and actually said if I didn't like it she would take it off the bill and get me a different one. I thought this was nice because most restaurants don't offer that to you when you are undecided. I ordered the campfire martini. I have to say I was pleased with it. I also likes that they gave me a side cup with the leftover of what didn't fit in my glass. Again this is something that most don't offer. The inside of the restaurant could use some new decor but otherwise it was clean and inviting. My husband ordered the steak tips and was very pleased with them. I had chicken parm which was also very good. Both had hearty portions. Our server was great ! She was extremely attentive and personable. My husband and I were looking forward to the newly remodeled Garrison's restaurant as we had lived in North Billerica for several years and always enjoyed it in the past. We have since moved 45 minutes away. I took my husband there last night hoping to celebrate his 50th birthday. What a disappointment. We were seated immediately with menus but watched for 15 minutes as 1 waiter and 4 waitresses pasted us by. Never welcomed us or took our drink order never mind a food order. Needless to say, we walked out. We will never go back. I hope they begin to hire more mature wait staff as the youngsters working there clearly don't care about their customers. read more

Haven't visited for more than a year, prior to renovation. Sat at the bar on a Weds night, ordered drinks, apps, and dinner while playing trivia and Keno. Food was excellent. There were 4 of us and 3 ordered prime rib which they absolutely loved - perfection! I ordered baked stuffed shrimp which also was excellent. Huge shrimp with a delicious stuffing, florentine rice and a fresh salad. The only complaint I have is the condition of the ladies room. It smells dirty, it is not clean by any means. It is obviously not cleaned properly and it is frankly really disgusting. The floors, sinks, stalls, etc need bleach! Too bad because I was so turned off the two times I had to use the rest room during my visit that I would skip going there again because of that. Unfortunately, the two times I have been here have been disappointing. Although the appetizers are generally good, the entrees are high priced yet severely disappointing. Pasta is generally bland, with watery "sauce" that does little but soak the bottom of the plate. Steak is ok, but fatty and overpriced for the cuts. Vegetables are overcooked and mushy. Needless to say, the prices are much too high for the quality of food (you'll generally be paying $16-$20 for one entree), and you'd be better off going elsewhere. Service was fine the first time, but the second time I went, we ordered out, and it was a disaster. They told us they ran out of one of the dishes we ordered - but only after we'd already gotten there to pick it up. They then said the replacement dish we ordered would be out in 10 minutes. In reality, we ended up sitting at the restaurant half an hour waiting for it, all while the dishes that were done sat on our laps getting cold. No refund, gift card, coupon, or anything of that sort was ever offered for the inconvenience. In summary, avoid Garrison's and go somewhere that would put your money to better use. read more

I was visiting town on a business trip and tried this place for dinner. Food was okay. Clam chowder was good. Had that with the teriyaki chicken. Prices were alright. The description that it was like a Dennys inside is pretty accurate. Decor in the place is clearly left over from 1989, and looks far more like a greasy spoon diner than a steakhouse. My only real squawk wasn't any of that but the amount of time it took to be seated, order, get served, etc. To be fair, I arrived at about 5pm on a Monday, during what appeared to be a weird sort of lull, which may explain why they seemed so shorthanded. Staff was friendly I guess, but they (or their short term memory) was spread too thin. Okay place to get chow, if you have a few spare days and don't mind waiting for it, or at least you don't have abandonment issues. Wouldn't rush about recommending the place, but I've had worse. read more

Great place! We went there on a recommendation and couldn't have been happier. Atmosphere was relaxing and light, staff extremely friendly and the food was delicious. Our waitress recommended their signature burger, the Garrison's, and I have to say...you'll wish you had another one once it's done! Their prime rib was on point and their dessert definitely hit the spot. We'll definitely have to go there again and I will be more than happy to recommend this place to anyone! read more
