Friends have sold their gargoyles here so I'm partial. It's simply a delightful place that makes me smile that such a store exists and thrives. They've been in the U district forever and for my first purchase aeons ago I bought a replica owl skull that has remained forever since a treasured little item in my life. There's always something truly unique to obtain as a gift for friends who share my macabre tastes. Worth a visit just as a Looky Lou like going to a museum, but do at least get some incense before leaving, to help insure the store sticks around a few more decades. read more

I love the collection of statuary they have on display for sale here. I started collecting statues of dragons and bought a few here. It's a dark, mystical store inhabited by what appear to be wiccans. This is truly an interesting store to visit and browse. I love it. read more

Love the staff in here. They don't hover but are available (hard balance to achieve!) They are also more than willing to give you information in the items in the store and really promote local artists which is cool. I found a nice art print that I fell in love with and purchased. The ambience in the store is extremely calming. Plus, their incense smells amazing. read more

This place is wonderful, I been in here a few times and I found a couple of rings and some cool gargoyles that I bought. The staff were nice and helpful too. A great place that I will be coming back to many times. The only issue I have isn't about the store itself it's just about the lack of parking, at times it can be hard to find due to the proximity to the college, but besides that it's an amazing place. read more

The first time I came in here was about a year ago around Halloween; I was killing some time and wandered in because it looked interesting. I didn't buy anything, but I remember being impressed by the fact that they actually had people going out to get more leaves to spread on the floor. Adds a nice touch to the atmosphere, which to me is just enchanting; I never was goth, specifically, but I do have somewhat of a macabre aesthetic. Not everything here is something I'd actually buy for my house, but it's all fun to look at and I always have great conversation with the employees. My favorite shop for pagan/gothic decorations. They have everything from candles and incense to t-shirts, jewelry, cats, demons, and enough Egyptian, and pagan gods and goddesses to turn your living room into a temple. The place is just full of atmosphere, and the people working there have always been friendly. I paid a return visit recently after a hiatus of a couple of years, and was thrilled to find the store still there. I definitely plan to become a regular customer again. read more

Super fun little shop on the Ave. Small, but absolutely packed with esoteric/witchy/creepy things ranging from handmade jewelry, art, decor, clothing, incense, etc. I didn't love everything in the store but I loved a lot and they definitely have things that will appeal to everyone into "this kind of thing". They have skulls! Didn't know where to get them locally before now, and we were particularly impressed by a skull in the back that was covered with kyanite (for the not unreasonable price of $300). Tons of offerings, really, and lots of really lovely decor items that will really provide a certain atmosphere to your space. The staff are super nice, we came in a few minutes before closing and they let us look around until we were finished while offering up information on various things they had for sale. read more

I bought the most beautiful fairy statuette from here! The fairy wings move ever so slightly when I have them plugged in. They are most magical. We have also collected dolls, statues, coffins, and I have collected some beautiful jewelry from here as well. This place walks the perfect balancing line between freaky and funky, scary and fun. It also makes me want a house with a yard. A big yard with lots of nooks for gargoyles. I've been gift shopping here for more than a decade. It's dark, and there's so much to see that it's difficult to take it all in. Lots of demons, devils and skulls, which are not my thing, but you can also find the Green Man, Buddha, and other beings that don't symbolize death and evil. Pagan artifacts abound, prices are reasonable, and they'll gift wrap. The incense that's usually in the air is a turn off and it's not super clean, but the merchandise is well curated, turns over, and there's always something of interest in stock if you're into this sort of tzotchkes. read more
