One recent report was that 3 men came out of the bathroom and was headed toward someone's daughter. Another mom called the police recently because men were recording the children at the splash pad, but they didn't have any kids of their own. The bathroom by the playground and splash pad has two directions you can exit.. to the left towards the splash pad or toward the right towards the side wooded area. Please don't let your children go in there alone and always check the bathroom first. Lakewood park, please hire security and heavily monitor the children's area.

But it was pretty hot out, and once the sun went down the party really started- there was upwards of 10 dogs when we left! The property is located out in Leander and is pretty rustic- the park is all dirt with lots of seating scattered throughout for humans (a fun vibe with mismatched chairs and tables of all styles and heights) and cute playground furniture for the doggos to run and jump on. There is plenty of tree shade as well, and water bowls set out for the pups. You check in at the bar and then can order drinks directly from a window in the dog park so you don't have to leave the fenced in park, which is nice. This dog park is super casual- no food served here, or cocktails. Just a nice straightforward (and reasonably priced) beer and wine menu. But really, what else do you need? Just some dogs, music (they had music playing) and a cold beer that comes with a cute coozie. The staff was so nice and really good with the dogs- they were there managing all the interactions and ensuring that nothing got tense. I really appreciated that. They do have doggie ice cream that you can purchase and have your dog eat outside of the park (no food allowed inside, makes a ton of sense). This place may not have jumbo screens and margaritas like some other dog parks- but that's fine by me for the relaxed and friendly vibe, reasonable prices, and staff that ensures all the dogs are safe and having fun! They also have a full agility course as well as a separate section for dogs under 30 pounds. Finally, and most importantly, they have multiple stations with free bags for clean-up. Several times while I've been there a crew has been going through cleaning up and emptying trash so the place always looks nice.

We're retired, but after coming home with dog poop on our shoes, we started picking up other dogs' poop when we saw it - hopefully we'll make a dent, because there's a lot.

Luna and Hush LOVE it here! It can be a bit dusty as it is dirt and mulch so be ready to get dirty! The first time we went their handler was amazing! I am not sure what happened yesterday (Sunday the 11th) but I didn't see a handler. There was a few humans that could have been directed by a handler; ex: leashes on dogs in the park and kids with dog treats. Luckily nothing big came from it but usually these things are big no no's at parks because it can cause some fights. Otherwise, Tailgate is amazing! We drive from South Austin to bring our kids and they are so happy to run and play and have their day! I will totally be going back and bringing any friend who I can wrangle!

Large climbing structure to left and splash pad to the right. 3 shaded gazebo's, with double tables and grills (covered so not in use). The shower and water fountains work. My 18-month-old hasn't been mouthing stuff as much lately so we gave it a go. He did OK but eventually did put a pebble in his mouth. The pebbles are also tricky to walk on. They get really hot so water shoes or sandals help. The pebbles will then inevitably get inside your shoes and annoy your feet. Bathrooms were reasonably clean. Pretty large parking area. $5 day use fee. Paying was a bit awkward since we had to scan a QR code, park and pay, and then go show the guy that we paid. Don't know if this is temporary due to some malfunction. Cool having a beach option relatively close, even if it's not sand. I believe there may be some hiking and camping at this particular park as well but I only came here for the beach.
