Out of date foods. Better check the food expiry date before buying anything from this junk.

This used to be Caro World Food Store but has now changed it's name to Bashoor Food Store. I do not…read moreknow why but I'm sure they have a good reason. It is pretty much the same shop as far as I can tell. This shop is well needed in the East End as there is a distinct lack of ethnic/world food stores for all your cooking supplies & ingredients. I used to pop in here all the time when I lived closer for my favourite chapatis and also the odd spice or herb but this place sells so much more. They specialise in selling Kurdish, Arabic, Polish, Iranian & Turkish foods, fresh & frozen. They also sell Halal meat, which is brilliant in an area that hasn't many ethnic produce shops or butchers, let alone Halal butchers. I was on the hunt for some saffron one day & I'd tried so many supermarkets & shops that I'd almost given up looking and then I remembered this place (it's also handy in that it is open 7 days a week). Right enough, these dudes had what I was looking for and a great price too! Saffron can be stupidly expensive (I've recently seen some in M&S at a daft price) but in here they sold wee individual plastic containers of saffron for only 99p! Brilliant. Joojeh kebabs for tea!! Yas :) As well as herbs, spices, fresh foods, meat and the jars/packets they also sell fresh ethnic pastries/sweets and breads too. The last time I was in nearly the WHOLE counter was covered in them sweet treats maybe to tempt weaker customers (I was not tempted coz I am STRONG! Haha, nah, not really, I just prefer savoury snackage), clever. If this place was as big and as well stocked as say Super Asia in the South Side then this would deffo be a 5 star place. I just feel like a need a wee bit more choice, but for a start its a great place, especially in this part of the city.

It is like a Tesco Extra dedicated to Oriental Foods. Need it and you will find it. We used to go to Chun Wing at Dobbies Loan but this place puts it to shame. There are only two cities that have a See Woo, London and Glasgow. Mainly staffed by Chinese and Poles, they can generally point in the right direction if you know what you want. The selection is impressive. Dry goods, frozen, seafood, noodles and spices, you will not find anything that matches this place till you hit London. Just go and wander, if nothing else to find out what things people will eat and insist on being imported for their consumption. Durian fruit or Shrimp Chips - everything is a gastronomic adventure. Think of it as a chance to experience something completely new and you just have to wander a little bit past the M8.

I get a bit like a kid in a candy store who happily throws the whole section of Japanese foods into the trolley, as well as endless packets of noodles. The supermarket is nothing fancy - bare concrete floors and a slightly odd layout can be confusing (I always worry I've missed something amazing). Over the past few visits we've managed to get some really good stuff though - they stock kewpie (delicious Japanese mayonnaise), cheap steaming baskets for cooking at home, frozen dumplings when you need a lazy dinner as well as a huge range of cheap herbs and spices. You'll never pay supermarket price again. I only wise they had more of a Japanese selection - but they do have a good mix of Asian food, as well as some European too. This is definitely a love-it or hate-it place, I can see that it might put some unadventurous people off, but if you like trying something different, have a look here and see what you can find!

Always greeted with a smile and 'Hello' and his wife always compliments me on my dresses/hair ~ so nice! Certainly service with a smile. I usually pop in for the more 'exotic' vegetables/spices/herbs (no, not those type of 'exotic herbs', tut-tut!) and the odd packet of noodles or chilli sauce. I love their more exotic and Asian variety of produce as let's face it, you can pretty much get apples/potatoes/etc.. anywhere but West Indian Hot Sauce or some quality spices are a wee bit harder to track down. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because sometimes their produce isn't the freshest I've seen; it's edible but if like me you don't eat a dinosaur (herbivore of course) load of fruit/veggies a day then it'd not last long in your hoose before you have to toss it. I'm all for supporting the small shop/business owners over the mega giants (Te*co to name but one) so shopping in these smaller, local and (most usually) friendlier shops is always good for the soul and your local area.

Its convenient to buy everything all in one at the supermarket, but Ahemd's brings back that feeling of community and the shop owner asking you how your dog is as you go in. The feeling is mutual and this is all about building relationships and taking things back to basics. Ahmed's is a bit different and I like to save the pounds so I am keen to go to avoid the corporate empire that is the supermarket to go to this pleasant shop. You get my vote!

Offering herbal remedies for everything ranging from a bruised leg to flu, this place is a welcome tonic to the "take this pill and it'll all be fine" approach of your local GP. In addition to the herbal stuff, you can also get a wide range of massages in this place, from relaxing and calming treatments to deep tissue sports orientated ones. Got one of Dem sports massages a few years ago after caputing my shoulder via a combination of roof work and mountain bike madness. The results were nothing short of amazing. This place also does some interesting herbal and natural products ranging from lip bam to toothpaste and deodorants. It also does candles and other nice smelling type items. A visit here always leaves you feeling a little more refreshed than you were when you walked in. Add this to the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and you have an ideal experience awaiting you

I…read moreknow when it gets to this stage rather than swally a load of painkillers all the time what I really need is a GOOD massage. The kind that makes you go 'Ah yeeeaaaaaaaah....' I usually go to Karada Massage in High Street but I fear they may have closed down :( I could not access their website or phone them. *sob* So I needed a back up fast. I read on this here Yelp that WH were pretty good & also a friend of mine recommended them. I was so in need of relief (steady!) I phoned & made an appointment for that day. Got one luckily no bother. Brilliant. I wasn't sure exactly what type of massage to get (as they really do so many various kinds) so I explained to the nice lady on the phone & she said I could discuss my requirements on arrival with my therapist. My therapist was Isabel and she was very nice indeed. I explained to her my pain & she asked a few (relevant) questions & then said she would cater the massage to my needs ~ this being a back, shoulder, neck & face/head massage. Lovely job. I could not wait. My massage was for an hour and it was so so good. A wee bit sore at times but it was necessary as I was really knotted up & as tense as a very tense thing (apparently). She was very thorough and she did indeed massage all parts necessary, including my face which was so nice BUT as I didn't know I was getting a facial I had on my usual make-up which by the end of the massage, of course, ended up smudged all over my face! Ha ha! Oh dear...luckily they have a wee bathroom (with lovely smelling hand soap!) you can 'fix' yourself in after or else I would've scared the people of Woodlands with my mental clown face. Again. Doh. My particular massage treatment was £40 which you might think is a bit steep but for how much it helped me & how well it was catered to my needs I thought it was fair. Their website has a handy price-list so you can check how much your treatment should be before you go and check at what days/times they are available. Isabel recommended I come again in 2 weeks time (Yes, it was THAT bad!) and I did and again it was brilliant. She suggested monthly massages to me & I am actually really up for it as I am one of these people that really needs a good massage regularly. If only I was richer! Another really good thing about WH is that they stay open late on a Wednesday (and other evenings too), until 8pm I believe. This is great if you work 9-5pm. I also like the wee shop they have in here ~ lots of vitamins & herbal treatments/goodies, food/snack things & other stuffs. I just love the smell of this place as soon as you walk in...Mmmm! Herbs!

What an amazing little shop!…read more I've never noticed this shop and had never heard of it until recently. Nipped in today on my lunch break to check if they had nutritional yeast and ended up leaving with a bag full of goodies. They stock things you wouldn't normally see in other health shops, things you would have to buy online normally. The prices are pretty reasonable considering. I've never seen such a massive selection of vegan chocolate and sweets. Impressive! Also managed to pick up some vegan chipotle mayo and vegan garlic mayo. Delighted! There's a shelf with some great offers on at the moment; organic beans, peanut butter, chickpeas. Good selection of meat and milk alternatives in the fridge, as well as dairy free milk alternatives, natural energy juices and other cool stuff. Hair products, bath and shower products, vitamins and loads of other beauty and personal care items on offer too. They have freshly made giant samosas (vegan friendly) at the till for 99p. Bought one to try and it was so delicious. The folk serving really couldn't have been any nicer, they even gave me a handful of free tea samples. How lovely! Can see me being a regular customer in here. Best customer service and shopping experience I've had in a long time.

Mostly, I pick up fancy teas from here. They stock the wonderful Celestial Seasonings range, so this used to be a regular stop on the way home from work.
