I'd been meaning to visit here since it opened, and was embarrassed to realise it's been open over a year now. We finally made it along for dinner on Friday night (date night!) and was glad that it lived up to expectations. Firstly, from the outset I'll say I've had lots of bad experiences with Thai food. I think I ate too much of it back in Melbourne and found it overly sweet, and it really put me off. I've only had Thai food in Glasgow twice now - at Chaophraya and now here. I'm glad to say that Thairiffic definitely made me reassess my attitude towards Thai food. Head up the stairs off Sauchiehall Street or Pitt Street and you'll find an elegant, well decorated restaurant space that is classy without being OTT on the Thai decor. We were seated at a table by the window - the best seats in the house - you can watch people walking/staggering/swaggering along Sauchiehall Street. The menu here is quite long and I was overwhelmed by the choice initially. I finally settled on the pre-theatre menu (2 courses for £14.50 on a Friday/Saturday) and ordered an extra starter off the a la carte menu. We tried: thairiffic rolls, rock n roll and hoi jor to start. The Thairiffic rolls are fresh rice paper rolls, generously stuffed with prawns and were really light and refreshing. The rock n rolls are fried small spring rolls which were super crunch and had a really nice minced chicken filling. And the hoi jor are dumplings, but sliced into rounds with a crab filling. All the starters were excellent and I would happily order all of them again. For the main I had a massamum curry with chicken and coconut rice. It was seriously delicious, rich and coconutty with lots of chicken. And the coconut rice went with it perfectly (but then, I think coconut rice goes with everything). We were totally stuffed after this so didn't have dessert. I was really impressed with Thairiffic, and it was quite busy on a Friday night which was nice to see! The staff were super friendly, really pleasant, chatty and helpful. My water was refilled constantly and they always checked if everything was ok. I really can't find fault with this place, and I look forward to going back to try some more of the menu.

Ok...heard a lot of amazing tales about this place, so decided to see what all the fuss was about. (Although maybe not the best of ideas to gorge on spicy Thai food in the peak of a heatwave). Anyhoo....you would prob walk past this place and not notice it. It's right across from O2 ABC. The restaurant itself is modern and spacious. The staff has sat us at a window...which I was damn thankful for in this heat. For starters we both had Rock n Roll Thai Spring rolls. They were fresh and flavoursome and wet your appetite for the main. I had the red curry with chicken. Was a superb balance between the spice and sweetness. My partner opted for the Jungle Curry. I did warn him that it may be a bit spicy....did he listen..NO. Although he said it was delicious and packed full of flavour. The staff here are lovely, very warm, pleasant and attentive. At £11.90 each for two courses pre-theatre. Bargain for the quality of the food they serve. I am a fussy one to please with regards to my Thai places...this one defo ticked all the boxes.

The food here is the BEST I've had since living in Thailand! The Pre-Theater menu is a SMASHING deal!! 3-courses for £15!!! The waitstaff is second to none! GREAT value all around! Who would think we would find this hidden treasure in Scotland!!

We ended up at Thairiffic after our original plans failed, but it worked out! It's always tricky to find places that will work for me (gluten free) and my partner (vegetarian), plus we had friends visiting that we wanted to impress. You can't really tell from the street, but after a climb up the stairs you find yourself in a rather pretty little restaurant. The service here is great, everyone was very friendly, prompt and helpful. As for the food, we were there early (long day of beer sampling) so we were able to take advantage of the pre-theatre menu, which gives you a starter and a main for 13.50. Both the pre-theatre and main menus are labeled with vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, which is nice (I hate trying to guess, and anywhere noodles and/or soy sauce are involved, it gets iffy really quickly.) I had the papaya salad for a starter and sweet and sour pork for a main. My partner went off the regular menu and had mango rolls (mango, avocado and a few other veggies in rice paper) and a curry. Our friends had a soup and a curry, and rock and rolls with pad thai. Our food was all pretty good; no one complained, but no one was really blown away either. If I was rating solely on food, I'd probably give this place three stars, but the service and atmosphere warrant a bump up to four. I was a bit disappointed that pad thai couldn't be made gluten-free; there wasn't much else on the menu that I'd want to try, since the majority of the gluten-free mains were curries and that just isn't for me. There were several starters that sounded nice, so I suppose I could make due with soups and salads and the like.

I'm not so sure about this place. Everytime I eat here, I leave feeling a bit underwelmed to say the least. I really want to love this place, because I do love Thai food, but I'm not sure this place is where it's at. A group of friends and I decided to take one of our friends visiting from Brazil out for some Thai food. We decided not to go to the usual place we go, but instead try something different. A few of us had been before, but most of us had never been. we were seated at large table (we called ahead to book) and our drinks order were promptly taken. If there's one thing I do enjoy here, it's the staff. I've never run in to a greater set of people, from the bar staff to the actual wait staff, everyone is super friendly and inviting. We were waiting on a couple more people before we ordered, so it gave us time to mull over the menu.. They have crackin' pre-theatre deals, so many of us went for those. I typically go for the Pad Thai, but thought I'd live on the edge for once and get something different. I actually went with the Thai Cashews, which was basically fried chicken chunks and loads of green/red peppers and cashews. Boring. The meal itself was not very satisfying, and it seemed as though I had just ordered a takeaway from my local Chinese restaurant. I was less than excited. A lot of my friends ordered the Pad Thai and loved every bite of it. The six of us literally were there from 6 until about 9 when we finally decided it was time to make a move and the staff there were so accomodating and nice about us just staying to have a chat with each other. We sure can talk, and they kept our water glasses full until we left. I was really surprised they didn't kick us out- it was a really nice evening, I just wish the food was a bit better.

I haven't had such a beautiful Thai food in a while, in fact, if ever! This is my boyfriends favourite place also :) I've chosen the love duck curry, which really speaks for itself! The duck was delicious. I do like quite sweet food but I understand for some people this option with pineapple and coconut rice (my choice) might be too much. However, for me it was a treat instead of the dessert also The Thairiffic soup was one I am thinking of since then every time we pass some Thai place lovely with a mix of seafood, big enough to share for the starter - but you don't want to share this one This place really deserves 5 stars from me - lovely food, great service and really nice clean chilling atmosphere and good value. Something to recommend! Can't wait to visit again.

I liked it. Had the Beef Pad Thai. It was something I'd get again. This place is on the second story of the building on a main street in Glasgow and it's nice to look out the window. The dinner music was soft, easy going and practically seductive. Some of it had unique chord changes, one song even containing a two major chord in the chorus. All in all I'd say this place is worth visiting.

I had some fine fine noodles in a red curry sauce with tofu. The menu labeled it "spicey" but by my somewhat spice likely US standards it wasn't really hot at all. I really love when Thai restaurants pan fry the tofu so it is soft inside and crunchy out and it wasnt that way here. Still, really full flavors and super affordable. The staff is very attentive. They split our check and gave me the wifi. Go!

I asked the owner to give us some more time while she tried to make her mind up. My colleague and I decided to share a meal and an appetizer since we had already been out earlier for appetizers that evening. When the owner came back, I placed an order for an entrée and an appetizer. Then she asked my colleague what she would have, and I informed the owner that we would be sharing those dishes. She let out an audible scoff and gave me the grossest look as if I had sat there and ordered water and asked to stick around for three hours. We ordered 46 pounds worth of food. It was an absolute look of disgust as if we were below her. I immediately called her out and told her that behavior was not acceptable, and would not be accepted. She then tried to play all innocent, as if nothing happened. It was a gross display of racism, and I could not recommend this place to anyone. BLM!

We all had the sharing starter - great, a lot of fried things so not for those on a diet. We then shared thai red curry, sweet and sour, ginger chicken and plum duck. My dad chose the sweet and sour and I was dubious but it was nothing like the Uncle Bens variety - possibly my favourite dish of the night. Don't get the sticky rice - it was so sticky that it had to be welded apart! I will definitely go back.

I was way to exhausted and tired to contemplate cooking so I took to Yelp to see what takeaways were near me. I'm not really one for take outs to be honest. I prefer to save my money and go for a dining-in experience. I think its probably got something to do with the fact there are so many bad takeaway places out there, but BKK is rather refreshing in that it specialises in yummy Thai food. I wanted something with a mean chilli kick so I opted for the chicken red curry. It was a decent sized portion, nicely flavoured but not overly spicy like I'd hoped. As previously mentioned I was famished so I also ordered some of the spring rolls too. These were less good unfortunately, having little flavour and being really greasy. BKK seemed like it had some tables inside, but at the same time looked like they hadn't been sat at in years. There were lots of random boxes and clutter laying about, which means if you did sit in, it wouldn't be all that great an experience. Best bet is defo a take out! To summarise, great curries, fair price, good portions.....oh and free spicy prawn crackers!
