It is like a Tesco Extra dedicated to Oriental Foods. Need it and you will find it. We used to go to Chun Wing at Dobbies Loan but this place puts it to shame. There are only two cities that have a See Woo, London and Glasgow. Mainly staffed by Chinese and Poles, they can generally point in the right direction if you know what you want. The selection is impressive. Dry goods, frozen, seafood, noodles and spices, you will not find anything that matches this place till you hit London. Just go and wander, if nothing else to find out what things people will eat and insist on being imported for their consumption. Durian fruit or Shrimp Chips - everything is a gastronomic adventure. Think of it as a chance to experience something completely new and you just have to wander a little bit past the M8.

I get a bit like a kid in a candy store who happily throws the whole section of Japanese foods into the trolley, as well as endless packets of noodles. The supermarket is nothing fancy - bare concrete floors and a slightly odd layout can be confusing (I always worry I've missed something amazing). Over the past few visits we've managed to get some really good stuff though - they stock kewpie (delicious Japanese mayonnaise), cheap steaming baskets for cooking at home, frozen dumplings when you need a lazy dinner as well as a huge range of cheap herbs and spices. You'll never pay supermarket price again. I only wise they had more of a Japanese selection - but they do have a good mix of Asian food, as well as some European too. This is definitely a love-it or hate-it place, I can see that it might put some unadventurous people off, but if you like trying something different, have a look here and see what you can find!

Toxic, egocentric and extremely unprofessional shop with some of the worst, morally bankrupt,…read moreimmature and self important human beings I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Staff (not all) are immature, snide, sanctimonious, temperamental, rude, up themselves, unwelcoming and give off massive Mean Girls high school bully vibes and gatekeeper behaviour. Two faced backstabbing colleagues without morals or integrity who all rat on each other while acting like the best of friends to each other's faces, create pathetic primary school level drama and deal with their problems like petulant toddlers instead of communicating like normal human beings. Staff are unnecessarily problematic, displaying a lot of fake, selective outrage depending on what kind of mood they're in or what grudge they're holding that day, even if it means completely contradicting themselves. I once once told by a girl on an ego trip that I was disrespecting her by stepping in to deal with a customer who was making inappropriate remarks because she was fine with it... then was accosted by the same person a day later for letting a customer in without a shirt on because she "didn't want to be looking at a man's nipples". The two ginger headed sisters that work there often talked about how much they disliked "cliquey" behaviour despite being the absolute worst offenders for it, a complete lack of self awareness. They give you silent treatment when you refuse to tolerate their disrespect and childishness and then snitch on you to their manager behind your back saying that it's you doing it to them while throwing in a few lies to save face because their own behaviour has gotten uncomfortable for them, then they will avoid you like the plague in the shop unable to even look at you when you're face to face with them showing how guilty they are. I've seen customers and delivery drivers spoken to like dirt, treated with appalling attitude, disdain and passive-aggressiveness by standoffish staff on a power trip who have zero business working with the public. Shift leaders were petty sycophants with a power complex who played tit for tat, try to gaslight people, spread gossip, lies, childish and malicious rumours about those they dislike in order to get them in trouble and make themselves feel like they've accomplished something and to justify their own shitty behaviour. People 'in charge' treat those 'beneath' them with contempt while brown nosing and sucking up to the manager, speaking volumes on their character that they only respect people 'above' them. Management in store is piss poor, unappreciative and self serving with a "what have you done for me lately" attitude. Store manager is corrupt, manipulative, sneaky, dishonest, untrustworthy, underhanded and a pathological control freak. Does nothing to resolve issues between staff members, loves gossip, breeds a culture of snitching and often takes the easy way out of situations. Puts sales and personal gain before the wellbeing & safety of the staff. The ginger girl pictured constantly snitches on her 'friends', is often bringing her personal issues and domestic disputes to work with her, verbally and emotionally abuses her own boyfriend in front of colleagues. 'Power' is abused frequently, petty rules upheld when it suits but will happily break said rules if it benefits them. Staff turnover in such a short period of time is alarming and indicative to what a shit show this place is. A hostile and negative environment with miserable, unfulfilled people in charge, ruining it for the genuinely good people that work there. If you're a spiteful jobsworth looking for some menial power to throw around in order feel better about yourself or if you thrive on toxicity and have a chip on your shoulder then this is the perfect shop for you! Absolute embarrassment of a place run by nasty vindictive little bullies who project their own insecurities and unhappiness onto others. A silly little corner shop shouldn't be this difficult. No one with any values or self respect should ever want to work in this cesspit.

With its bright and colourful signage its pretty hard to miss this place located just of the hustle and bustle of Dumbarton Road. With a big ol selection of genuine Polish goods and a fresh welcoming interior its clear this place does a good trade with the local Polish community and those with adventurous tastes alike. Never averse to trying out new grub i always pick up something when I'm in for a wander, my favorite is trying out the different chocolate bars, a real cultural connoisseur am i!!

Aptly situated in an area which includes Polish Taste deli and St Simon's Parish Church, it has an extensive range of stock, much of which looks like it has been named by randomly picking eight scrabble letters from the bag. One disappointment is that, although this place is supposedly licensed, no alcohol from the country is on sale here and indeed a fridge which is labelled "Fresh Beer" actually holds a range of Polish meats. Nevertheless, Polski Supermarket has earned another thumbs up thanks to the range of Polish magazines, newspapers and books it has for sale. This is something I haven't noticed anywhere else and ensures it's an extremely handy resource for Glasgow's extensive Polish community.

Places like Polish Taste, only act to cement this feeling. Whilst in the area at the weekend and having just picked up some awesome cakes and sausage rolls at Cottonrake (find review, read, love and visit!) I decided that the fresh white loaves in the window were just far too tempting to avoid. But hey, it's not just bread that's on offer in this kick ass wee deli. From perogies (spelling?) to awesome sausages, tinned good and fresh fruit. I've been back, I'll be back again and would advise anyone who's in the area to pop in for a nosey. Yes it's probably more expensive than the nearby T (ends in esco), but it's quality and unique. Yum.

Although I'm not Polish, I've spent quite a lot of time there and am a big fan of the culture. As soon as you step through the doors of this deli - you feel a bit like you're actually in Warsaw, and not in the West End of Glasgow. Wood paneling and straw baskets make this place undeniably cute, and as well as shelves and shelves of canned and tinned goods (all in Polish - obviously) you'll also find fresh goods. This includes a meat counter to die for (what can I say? I'm a carnivore at heart) as well as a mini bakery and lots and lots of cheese. All these products are delicious - and also very reasonably priced. I also love the fact that they sell Polish newspapers and magazines here. This definitely adds to the sense that a trip into Polish Taste is like a mini-holiday to Eastern Europe!
