Lovely little cafe. Good coffee and good food - and, perhaps most importantly, it is dog friendly!

Staying close by and wanted to find a local breakfast spot. Jackpot! Food was great, service was good, server was very quiet ( not a negative comment, just a quiet person). When I travel, I try and find these types of places, local and tasty. I highly recommend it. read more

We ate here for the first time last week...the people were friendly, clean, hardworking, and attentive. We sat in the garden area out back and had two breakfasts fit for kings! Mine was of course the "glutton-ish" Need a taste for everything kind that includes sweet, savory, healthy, not so healthy, and everything in between, and my husbands was of the more savory variety with "more carbs than [he] wanted because it was so delicious!". We came back the next day...same breakfasts...same perfection. Today I am here a week or so later because it felt "not right" to come here every morning for fear of not "trying it all"... lol. I missed it! The eggs, the pancakes with nutella and PERFECT blueberries!!! Seriously! It was as if they tested each for prime firmness before placing it in the serving dish! Remarkable! As for the garden area...it was exactly what we wanted to welcome us with Old world English charm out of a picture book. This is a nice warm cafe which boasts of ample indoor seating and a nice outdoor terrace in back when the weather's nice. It's a great place meet for coffee or settle in for some work, as there are several two top tables conveniently placed near outlets. They serve coffee drinks, an ample assortment of cakes and pastries which are generously proportioned as well as a brunch menu which has reasonably priced brunch items especially many vegetarian or vegan items. read more

Quaint and cramped inside, go outside! This cafe was excellent, even though there was some pish weather at the end. I sat outside in the courtyard and ordered the full English breakfast. The delicate poached eggs, tender sausage, ripe tomato, bacon, mushrooms and tatters were an awesome start to the day. Man, that food got cold and wet after the piddle paddle that came down as soon as I took a bite. read more

We're extremely lucky. We're staying at an Airbnb apartment two doors down. Healthy breakfast, lunch or an early dinner is served, we had them all and each time we've been delighted. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are more than enough. We've been around the neighborhood trying different places to eat and by far this is the best. My only problem with the Garden Restaurant is that it can become addictive. read more

This cozy corner café is perfect for just about any lazy afternoon. Sometimes I come in here just for a relaxing meal after a long day spent in class. They serve up classic English fare at prices that do not reflect the West Hampsted address. Everyone needs to have a nice local café for those early morning breakfasts when you don't feel like cooking and i'm lucky enough to have this little gem as mine. Located just off of Finchley Road, The Garden Café offers great meals in a relaxing environment. The wooden, earthly décor is simplistic yet modern and makes adds to the ambience of the café. I've tried most things on the menu and for lunch I like to get one of their baguettes or sandwiches and always get a nice pot of tea. Everything is made with the freshest ingredients and the staff are very friendly and provide an efficient service. More popular as a lunchtime venue, The Garden Café has a wide range of baguettes, sandwiches and other dishes as well as wide range of teas and coffees, so you'll be able to find something that suits your fancy. Their all day English breakfast is the perfect hangover cure and I always drop by for one when the room is spinning too much for me to cook. Whether you come here for a meal with friends or just for a pot of tea and a read and watch the world go by, you will be sure to drop by here more than once. read more

Very disappointed with the quality of my meal and my experience. I have never gone out of my way to write a bad review before, but for this place I had to make an exception. The staff were unwilling to change certain breakfast items - despite saying that an item may be changed at the top of the menu - and when they agreed to change the ones you can, they did so very passive aggressively. What's more, the food was cold when arrived. Namely, the mushrooms and bacon in my meal, and the sausage and mushrooms in my partner's. Her egg was also overcooked, just for the sake of balance. To top it all off, when I offered a suggested alteration to the menu to make it more clear - after we had paid - it was met with sneer, extreme defensiveness and, at its core, rudeness. The only reasons that this review is 2 stars as opposed to one is that one of the waitresses was very friendly and helpful and the actual setting of the cafe was nice (Although please do not be lured by this, as you will be disappointed). read more

This is a nice neighbourhood restaurant and we haven't had the problems with service reported by the other person who has reviewed it. The food is pretty nice, (Turkish) and we have found the people friendly and the prices reasonable. Neighbours enjoy eating here too and when you pass it you generally see people settled down in there with their friends or their computers! There are cool pictures around the wall inside showing the area in the "olden days" . It's nice to have a garden although I think they could make a bit more of it, get a few more plants in. The walls are high and parts of it are quite shady which can be nice in the summer. I would really recommend this place for a pleasant and comfortable meal at reasonable prices, it's not a special occasion place but one that would be missed if it disappeared. read more

Decent food at reasonable prices, but terrible service! The chap who seems to be in charge is friendly and helpful, but the waitresses are shocking! They ignore customers sitting in the cafe, tut when menus are asked for, and make it impossible for customers to make eye contact with them in order to provide service. Could be a wonderful venue if the waiting staff are sacked. read more

Came in and ordered the rigatoni, then my food came 5 minutes later. Amazing food, almost no waiting. Couldn't have had a better experience.
