Sirloin steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, rice pilaf
    Ramon F.

I had been here once before to Garcia's. The restaurant is part of the Holiday Inn Hotel in Chinle, Arizona. We had planned on having dinner here on Thursday before heading back to Phoenix the next day. Our server came over as soon as we were seated. I am sorry for not remembering his name. For he was excellent at providing good service. I ordered my drink and both of us decided to go with the sirloin steak dinner. I was brought my sirloin steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, and rice pilaf. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium with a little bit of pink, just like I like my steak cooked. The restaurant is kept very clean, the service is great, and our server was on top of things. I really recommend this place to you, if you are ever in Chinle.

    Sirlion Salad

Probably one of the best restaurants in Chinle, adjacent to Holiday Inn. Been here many times and never dissapointed. Had the sirlion steak salad. The sirloin was perfectly cooked. Served on a bed of greens with red onion, blue cheese crumbles, roasted tomato, balsamic vinergerette and a chibbato garlic roll. Excellent service and other great daily specials.

Bowl of Chicken Soup from a can. $5.

This was the worst meal I have had for $17. The chicken soup was of the cheapest kind straight out a can. Completely shameful to say the least. The Greek salad was a total abomination to humanity. It had romaine lettuce, olives, feta cheese and really mediocre bottled dressing. This was not a Greek salad. This is a garden salad with some olives on top. Friends who had other dishes said most items were from cans and tasted like it sat around for a day. Overpriced and truly disgusting. I had the deepest regrets for having dined at this god forsaken place. I felt like Santa on Christmas day. Visited Mr and Mrs Nut, got stuck in the chimney and had to be pulled out by the Nuts, Moral of the story is there are not many options here in Chinle. They got me by the proverbial balls. Doh!

We had blue corn pancakes, when in Rome you try a local favorite. Now I have to find them in NY. Thank you Garcia's, I will be struggling to have these again. Our server was amazing and very attentive. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

8.00 steak and eggs. Server outstanding. Sirloin and 3 eggs fantastic value in a national park hotel.

Great breakfast and reasonable. Friendly fast service. Hotel right at park entrance. King room was also outstanding but not microwave Remember if you like beer pack it in. The res is dry.

Had a very good roast mutton sandwich on fry bread with lettuce, tomato, green onion and chili slice. The mutton strips were cooked on a grill. The fry bread was freshly made. Excellent flavors. So we took a drive to the road that takes you to the Chinle Hospital. Just as you turn at the light, just to your right is a small food truck like place where the Burrito Lady has her business. We walk up to the trailer, looked at the menu that sits right next to where you order. I saw the Roasted Mutton Sandwich, so we both ordered it. She asked us if we wanted it on a tortilla and fry bread, so we both said fry bread, and ordered our drink as well. The Roasted Mutton Sandwich is comes folded like a taco on Indian fry bread, stuffed with the Roasted Mutton, long slices of green chili, green onion, and tomato. What made this sandwich taste so good is the flavor of the Roasted Mutton, and of course the Indian fry bread. For those of you that have never had Mutton, you have to understand that it is fully cooked, and is an acquired taste. I first had Mutton in Tuba City at their daily swap meet at noon. It was grilled and was filled with similar like this one in Chinle. The way they cook it makes it real tasty. This is my story on my special lunch in Chinle. Hope some day you have an eating experience like mine.

After receiving our drinks, no one came back to take our order. We eventually flagged down a waitress (who was apologetic) to take our order. And, yes, as other reviews have mentioned, our orders came out in stages. Pro tip: order off the Pizza Hut menu, as those items all came out first. Like, significantly, first... We also ordered some local dishes, which were all tasty. The Indian fry bread was warm and very tasty. The lamb stew was very hearty. The restaurant appeared clean and organized. This is a combo restraint that is the both the Junction and Pizza Hut combined. We were promptly seated and our orders were taken. It took a while for our meals to arrive and for the most part they were very good. The steaks were great, however the baked potatoes were refrigerator cold inside. They did offer and provide a side of fries to make this right. The sheepherder was a good beef sandwich but the fry bread was dripping oil. As a note we were some of the last customers before closing and I think they had started shutting down the kitchen before we arrived. We were thankful that they were open and we got served. If we were to pass through the area again we would give it another try .

We both ordered Navajo tacos. The fry bread was more like ""Pizza edge", pizza crust, which is great, but it's not an Indian or Navajo fry bread. The green salsa was excellent, the red salsa was OK. The meat, which was ground beef, I did not care for it. Left an aftertaste like it was going bad or something. They use whole beans as supposed to refried beans which was good and the shredded lettuce and vegetables were also OK. Overall, if I had to go back there again, I wouldn't order the Navajo taco. I might try something else, if it's only a bowl of that green chili and tortilla.
