Same day service for a wheel hub replacement on the 2 front wheels on my Mazda CX-5! During the…read moresnow storm I slid making a right hand turn and slammed both wheels head on into a curb. I heard a growling sound from my front wheels that increased in volume as I went faster. I did some of my own research and concluded it was most likely the wheel hub bearings that were damaged. I took my car to Eastside Automotive and Tires first, and I told them about the noise, but they wanted to change out my struts and quoted me $2800. They said they didn't test drive it and just put it on the alignment rack and saw the caster was off by a quarter inch. They did not have a print out or photo of the readings btw. I asked how much to just replace the wheel hub bearings and they quoted me around $1600 plus taxes. First off, they did not test drive it and did not even spin the tires to hear which wheel, left or right, was making the growling noise. I did not feel like they were being very honest an charged me $100 for the "diagnostic", which I begrudgingly paid. So I called up Cascade auto and they gave me a rough estimate. I took it to their shop the next morning at 7am. They spun the tires and heard the growling in both front wheels and also confirmed it in a test drive. They were flexible with the labor pricing and were able to complete the job the same day around 2pm. They even had an issue with the parts they received being bad and had to remove and replace them. I have been driving my car for about a week now and have not had any issues with the noise. These guys do quality work for a fair price. They are a pleasure to talk to and extremely friendly. I highly recommend this garage. Total I paid was $1550 (315 for each wheel hub OEM), which sounds like a lot, but was definitely cheaper than doing unnecessary work like replacing struts. Follow up, Cascade Auto did recommend I go to Les Schwab for an alignment as this is not a service they provide. There I found out the caster was fine and just the toe needed to be adjusted. Do not go to Eastside Auto!

Needed a tune up, did the work with out giving me a price, then told me the coil was bad and they…read morefixed it, told me if I still had problems I would have to change the other coils as they only did 1 of 8. Truck still ran poor, brought it back so they could see if the coil or spark plus were firing correctly. They were he replaced the other 7 coils, and recharged the air conditioner which was not mentioned, when I complained he removed the charge. My wife noticed a handwritten charge on both receipts, finally figured out it said card run fee, because I used my charge card, both times the fix cost over $1200 each, then the charges for fees on credit card was $97.41 no where did it state I would be charged a fee for using a credit card, our friend who works for mac recommended him, I would not. They work on cars and fix things and charge huge prices, when I called two other mechanics I have used before, I was told the total cost for the coils and labor would be $899 minus 20% for aaa discount. Make sure IF you ever use these people you tell them not to do any of the work until you hear from them on the amount before the work is started.I'll be calling my back once this clears through and file a dispute on charges not authorized.

That said, Corey has lots more experience and knowledge than I do (I tell him what I think is wrong, and half the time he suggests maybe something else, and darned if he isn't right! I'd have found it eventually after everything else I did didn't fix it). My suburban stopped running down in Utah one hot summer and had to get towed to a shop 80 miles further down the road (that night's destination, actually, lucky me..) - called Corey for a first 'second opinion' and after symptom discussion he suggested over the phone an overheated original fuel pump - never woulda thunk it, bad gas?, fuel filter?, computer?, yea.. fuel pump? Nah.. - the Utah shop replaced the fuel pump and confirmed it. I learn something new every day no matter how hard I try. My advice is that when you find a good mechanic with integrity at a reasonable price, stick with him. He's more than a mechanic, he's a trusted friend now. Even though it's not to my benefit to recommend him (hard enough getting an appointment because he's pretty busy as it is), I selfishly want him to stay in business, so yea, I highly recommend ProCar. (BTW, that 1-star rating back in 2018 was a vehicle with all the emissions stuff removed. State law at the time would not grant a waiver in that situation - the emissions equipment at least had to be present. Everyone involved came away with a 'bad attitude' about it).

Imagine that...so I am getting prices of 2000 to 5000 to fix it cause u have to take the front of the grill area off to get to the senser. So I called a few other places and one was shoreline family auto repair and sales. It was bout 430 p m n Jeff told me to bring my car in and he would look. They close at 5 pm give a few minutes. So I hurried over there and he comes in and said he could fix it for four. I said thousand he goes no 400$. I bout fell out the chair. So we made an appointment for that coming wednesday and i TY ook it in and he had it fixed andcready to cc ome home. He sent the gentel man to come pick me up n take me back to the shop to get it not even 3 hours later. They also gave me a ride home that morning. The folks who work there are very considerate, understanding on your consernes and being a senior on social security i dont have alot of money. Jeff the gentelman who helped me in the beggining could see i was in a panic he quoted the price including the parts and labor n it cost 402.$. That i had but this 2 to 5000 $ from those other places wow. Shame on them. It is hard to find a auto mechanic that u can trust and believe what they are telling u is the truth. Im so thankfull to this shop for being someone i can believe n trust they are not ripping me off for things that realy didnt need to b done...if I could give more than 5 stars I would give them the max.
