Ordered the Indian Paintbrush. Almost didn't get it bc it sounded too simple to be so highly recommended but it did not disappoint! It was smooth & not too sweet. We were casually dressed & that didn't seem to matter. The bouncer at the door was controlling how many people can be let inside which helped this tiny place seem no so cramped. The almost dungeon-like atmosphere turned cozy-romantic by all the candlelight. Good music & attentive service. We could have sat here for hours but were mindful of the line outside so after our first round of drinks we left but we can't wait to go back again! read more

A cute little hole in the garage- ha. But seriously, this swanky place is in a real parking garage. I am a fan however, the HH prices were not as worth it as I would have liked. I got both the 7 day weekend and a Daiquiri and neither were that special for the price that I paid. I admit they weren't half bad. The only food they offer is popcorn served in tiny bags!! Why does fancy food have to be served in such ridiculously small portions? The music and ambiance transported me to a jazzy 50s club and the seating was very comfortable. There are drippy blue curtains and the bar kind of swirls around in this very eclectic way. It was a very fun HH!! I would go here again as it was something unique. Very enjoyable experience. read more

About 3 weeks later, they were back in touch and sent a refund through and apologized for the miscommunication. :)

This place was awesome. Took us a good five minutes to find the entrance, but we got there. It is literally in the middle of a parking garage. Look for the glowing sign that says garage and walk to the right of it. Upon entering, the ambiance is dark and sophisticated. There was a waitress that greeted us and told us to find a seat or direct ourselves to the bar. We first went to the bar where the bartenders said they keep the tab open according to our last name so that we can order a drink wherever we are with any waitress. We grabbed a seat and the service was a 5/5. All of the waitresses were wearing cute little black dresses and checked on us regularly, taking new orders and removing empty glasses. Before we left, we closed our tabs and signed. The place was lively and really cool. I would definitely like to take friends here during happy hour. read more

Garage - Look for this sign and walk below it and to the right. - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Austin, Texas

Went to Garage first time since Pandemic. Awesome service and drinks, coolest vibe. Super sophisticated

Ok, full disclosure: this was the bar that put me over the tipping point so I don't remember what I got there. But, I remember that our server was extremely friendly, humored our questions regarding the music, and the atmosphere was very cool. Being in a garage at a bar is a trip- I've been to plenty of speakeasies and bars in strange places but this was a first. A cool place to check out if you can get a reservation! read more

Hard to spot unless you're looking for it...though the bouncer sitting out front made it easier. Watch your head while walking, so you don't hit it on a ramp! Smoking seems to be allowed right outside the bar, and there are a few chairs out there for that purpose. The menu is cutely designed by car types: refurbished, custom, GTO, etc. The GTO drinks go for $18, and the rest are from $12-$15. We tried the Penicillin, with an earl grey scotch - it's a very smooth drink you should consider if you enjoy smokey beverages. The Peter Sellers was also very booze-forward, as our waitress suggested. One of these will get you there! read more

Garage - Entry sign - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Austin, Texas

Ambience: Cozy and intimate with the right music volume so you do not have to shout to hear one another. A little difficult to find since it is tucked away in a garage. This however adds to the ambience. Drinks: Great cocktails. Friendly bartenders. Fav drink was the Penicillin. Wish I had asked the bartender her name so I could mention her here. We came back here on consecutive nights on a two day Austin trip :)! Definitely my favorite bar in Austin during my visit. read more

Love this bar - it's honestly a nice change of pace from all the other austin bars. The entrance is kind of hard to find.. just try finding a garage parking entrance and you'll see a sign. Try and come during hh M-F from 4-6pm and try my favorites: seven day weekend and the up&up read more

Having high expectations for places sometimes leads to the greatest misses. Came here relatively early on a Friday night to meet up with some friends who had never been here either. We entered the bar and it's so unbelievably dark and noisy, like a some type of sensory deprivation test. We find a place to stand while we waited for a table to clear out struggled in the dim room to find our drinks on the menu. Luckily there were tea candles on the table so we could read it. (Mind you, I'm in my 20s and can see clearly and it was a bit of a chore). Our server really seemed to hate her job, too, so she mostly avoided her tables and it took forever to get the check at the end. We ordered some pricy drinks that we were excited about trying, wishing the kitchen a just a couple more options to choose from so we could grab a bite, too. My drink, the indian paintbrush, was okay. My husband's bees knees was fine, it's a classic, but neither of the drinks our friends ordered they liked. We tried them and I have to agree, they were not balanced or tasty, and even more expensive than my drink. We really couldn't talk to each other either, because it was so loud and there was nothing soft to absorb sound, so we dashed pretty quickly. We won't be back unfortunately, but the concept and space itself is cool, just not executed well. read more

Girls, beware. This is a review based on a combination of cocktails and experience. I came here the other night with a group of friends and had a great time based on the quality cocktails and a good vibe. Tonight I came with my sister and enjoyed my first cocktail but not the patron next to me... he ended up being super abusive and aggressive and threatening physical violence us. His friend tried to explain that he had been deployed and was struggling with the aftermath, which I can respect, but I expect to be able to go out in a safe environment. We were sitting at the bar so the bartending staff observed the entire thing The answer from staff? To move us to a corner table away from interaction and allowed him to sit at the bar and continue his rant. Super disappointed that was the response from an aggressive man to a woman under their watch. As much as I liked my drinks, I won't be back. read more

Name says it all. It's a bar in a parking garage. It's a small space and getting seating is pretty tough, but the drinks are good and is a good place to start your night. Don't bother going up the stairs, there's nothing there. Feels old school, speakeasy style, a nice change from your typical bar. Hope your nightvision is on point, because its pretty dark in there. That's to help out us uglies :) read more

If I could I would give it 10 stars! Gotta love the ambiance. Order the Indian Paintbrush. Service was amazing especially from Kindra! read more

Garage - Gotta love the ambiance. Order the Indian Paintbrush. - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Austin, Texas

This place has great staff and manages the small space great. Their servers are quick and efficient, and extremely polite. Their bartenders are friendly and accommodating to drinks that aren't on the menu and made my girlfriend a custom drink since she is trying to avoid specific types of alcohol. I came her Saturday night around 10pm. I had called some friends that were leaving ACL and told them to meet us there. We arrived 30 minutes before them and there were three of us. We told the host that we had 4 more on the way. She said she could make it work and and made the effort to seat others away from us in preparation of our friends. When they arrived we were one seat short and she hunted down an extra seat from others. Within minutes we were all accommodated which was awesome. I always order the rosé which is a tempranillo and the perfect hint of sweet without being over the top. My boyfriend ordered the kale pops and they were fantastic. I've also ordered the poké in the past and it's honestly fantastic. I'm happy with their wine options and their food options! read more

Garage - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Austin, Texas

Secretively hidden posh cocktail bar in the heart of Austin. When first pulling up, you see a typical parking garage. But if you look closely, you'll see glowing blue lights & a bouncer holding ground by the door. Then you'll see the word "COCKTAILS" written bold above & you'll know you wandered into the right place. The bar is nestled in the center of the garage & it swirls inwardly as the main bar area resides in the center as well. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relax. There are small tables around the perimeter for intimate small parties. Most people were seated around the bar. At this point in my night, the low lighting & chill vibe was just what I needed to wrap up the evening. More of a nightcap spot or somewhere classy to go before dinner. You won't find people here dancing or doing too much socializing outside of their group. Which makes it a great place to bring a date. I ordered mezcal based drink which was pretty and tasty. read more

It's a bar in a parking garage. Come on now. It's amazing. So, naturally the cocktails are on point. The old fashioned, my my. It is a speakeasy as a speakeasy should be. It felt styled and fantastic, while still being very Austin and casual. The drink prices aren't crazy, especially for the quality of craftsmanship and spirits used. The food menu, let's talk about it. They have one. Most speakeasy bars focus on the drinks and have you get your grub elsewhere. Nope. Not these guys. The food is surprisingly good for a bar inside a garage. I was impressed. The bites were small and fairly pricey all things considered, but for the whole experience, it's worth it. Highly recommend. read more

Speakeasies are our "thing" and we seek them out wherever we travel in the world. The concept of this one told such a unique story. The experience this past weekend was a total flop. "Lines" early on a Saturday when we knew half the place is empty, rude servers totally unwilling to answer any questions about the drinks, and worst of all - 4 different cocktails came out looking quite the same. We joked it might be the same cocktail mix and will also taste the same. To our disappointment, it came true. A sugary syrupy cocktail mix was the lazy base for all our drinks. The ambiance is simple in a non existent way - there's no decor etc. The one thing someone did put effort into - creative cocktail names. If only that creativity was backed by product. We left after two sips. Finally, when we returned after dinner to pickup our car and I realized I had to pee, the bouncer was extremely rude and unrelenting. Really, way to keep a customer happy, not. Do yourself a favor and get over the feeling of FOMO, you're missing nothing by skipping this place, especially in a town with so many other stellar experiences. read more

Cool, low key, trendy place to hang out! Cocktails were amazing, as was the service. It is quiet enough to have a conversation without yelling, but there is some music. I had the lion's tail (a spicy mango! So yummy). I also tried the Indian paintbrush, which was amazing (and I don't like grapefruit very much). The seats were very comfortable and we enjoyed the candlelight. Bathrooms were upscale and clean. read more

I love this bar, one of my favorite Austin alcohol venues. Great drinks, utterly cool, amazing atmosphere, good service. I feel like an A lister when I drink here. read more

We went to this spot after a Valentine's Day dinner since we were in the area and had previously heard some things about it. It's definitely a hidden gem and wasn't exactly easy to find. It really is located in an active garage! After finding the place, it's like we entered into a whole other realm. The service and drinks were good, and although it wasn't packed I actually preferred it that way because of the attention you get. It's not a big space, but it's cozy and perfect if you are bar-hopping in the area or if you have some out of town guests that you want to impress. read more

A friend who lives in Austin took us here. I'm glad she did because I don't think I could've found this cool little spot. It's called Garage and I would've walked by the parking garage many times, dying of thirst. The interior of the Garage is nothing like a garage although it's inside a parking garage. It's dark, cozy, and intimate. Perfect in getting to know your best friend better or a date....preferably a date since you're probably maxed out on besting out with your friend. It's a fascinating conundrum that it's a garage that's not like a garage, but it is. No matter. You'll get distracted from once your cocktail is delivered into your eager hands. My group enjoyed an Indian Paintbrush, milk punch, and something else. I can't remember what my best friend drank. Maybe I'm not the best friend that I could possibly be. No matter. I finished my milk punch. This was an evening montage at the garage. -------------------------------------------------- QUICK TIPS: -------------------------------------------------- # It's inside a parking garage. Take a look at the outside photos so you know. You'll find the word "cocktails" above the white garage entryway. Walk through it and find the path that leads to the bar. # Nice, dimly lit cocktail bar that's perfect for getting cozy with people, particularly a date that you wish to please. read more

Amazing drinks. This place is awesome. Loved sitting out on the patio- it's so different!

The ultimate date spot. Dim lighting, close seating and fancy cocktails. Seriously, don't go here with someone you're not comfortable getting close to or someone you haven't seen in the daylight (unless that's your thing). I've been here several times and my all time favorite drink is the Indian paintbrush. Their cocktails are perfectly balanced and not too sweet. As it gets later in the night, the place does become noisier but you can think of it as an additional excuse to get closer when you talk ;) . Come early to get a spot at one of the tables, forget you're literally in a parking garage and enjoy the ambience. read more

Beautifully crafted cocktails with unique ingredients and imaginative flavor profiles! Very small servings for such high prices, but everything is excellent quality and you can't find these drinks just anywhere. Nice ambiance, although it can get loud as the acoustics aren't great. Bar literally inside of a parking garage. Great drinks and light snacks but definitely on the pricier side

Great hidden bar. Super cocktail list with great bartenders in a unique setting. Just give it a try.

Guy at the door with goatee was rude and disrespectful when we were trying to make a joke about being in the same party with another group. He made a vile comment so we took our business elsewhere. This is not someone you should have working at the first touch point of your business. read more

Finally made it out to try Garage and wasn't at all disappointed! Great atmosphere--dark and sets an intimate and fun mood. The drinks were absolutely fantastic...best cocktails I've had so far in ATX! I had the Indian Paintbrush (Austin Drink of 2015) and the Penicillin. Both were to die for. Not cheap (prices range from $11-16) but high quality and I felt worth it. Expect to wait in a line outside for 15-20 minutes and to wait a bit inside for a table, but nothing too crazy. Highly recommend! read more

I go to Austin several times a year and have been doing so for well over a decade. How it is that I never knew about Garage astounds me because it is simply put, my kind of bar. A speakeasy settled in the middle of a functioning car garage, the atmosphere is perfect. They play old vinyl records, it really makes a difference, I promise. Now let's talk about the atmosphere. Low lighting, comfortable lounge type seating. Outside they have a cozy area to drink and smoke if you're so inclined & watch the cars go by oblivious to you sipping a bees knees. The cocktails are perfect, no complaints and the service was impeccable. This is now on my map and I see many an Austin night popping in for a few cocktails before dinner. read more

The drinks are incredible (get the indian paintbrush!!) and the location is so unique, however you'll pay for it. Yes, the drinks are expensive, but I only come here for one or two to make visitors get a fun, local vibe, then head out to other places for the rest of the evening. It can be quite crowded, but there's a fun, dark vibe inside and the way it's laid out doesn't make you stare into a crowd. Just an interesting bar with really great (but expensive) drinks. read more

Nice hidden spot in parking garage. We did have to wait in a line, but it was only for about 10 minutes. When we got in we had to wait for a table which wasn't too bad. It's a chill spot with nice music and it's not too loud. It's definitely a spot I would go back to again. read more

Listen. I'm a dirty gin martini girl. You can have all the spectacular cocktails in the world on your menu and my ass is gonna order the damn top shelf gin martini. I'm a woman who knows what I like. What can I say? The vibe here is perfectly my jam. Good music, spectacularly low lighting and an ambiance that suits my soul. My friend and I had the ahi poke and the crab toast. Both spectacular and worth it. The only strange little quirk is that the bartenders are SUPER flippin' excited about shaking the HELL out of whatever cocktail concoctions that their creating. No, y'all.....like REALLY exuberant about it. Concerningly so. We couldn't stop laughing at how gung ho they are about shaking the crap out of whatever their bruising the hell out of in those damn shakers. So, anyway.... cheers to one of the few places in Austin where this gal can dress her ass up and feel perfectly at home. read more
