I've been here about 6 times now for a variety of services and they have always been the best car shop I've ever done business with. The customer service is always amazing, the prices are excellent legitimately some of the best prices I've ever gotten, and the best part is that they're so professional throughout the entire service. I never feel uncomfortable or anxious with this place doing work on my cars. My only complain is that they're not open on weekends so a lot of the times I have to change my work schedule around the store hours but that's such a small downside for me. Back in 2022 I had a problem with my Saturn Ion that nobody could fix. No shop could find the part that was needed because Saturn went out of business so long ago. I went to well over 8 different shops to get the issue resolved. Garage 31 was the only shop that fixed the issue even though they had to jump through so many hoops to resolve the issue. I have brought all of my cars to Garage 31 over the past six years since they opened. I am writing this in May 2023. I have never had an issue with any work they have done on any of my vehicles. They have even driven me home when I dropped a car off to be worked on. They have have always been knowledgeable, efficient, and reasonably priced. I was very impressed initially, but after a few times using their service, I changed my opinion. The first time I began to wonder about their integrity was when I had four new tires replaced. The tires were fine, but they were not balanced properly and the car shook while in a certain speed range. When I took it back and asked if they would redo the balance job, they said there was something wrong with the car and did not re-balance the tires. The next, and last, time I dealt with them was when they replaced a tire on my wife's car. I took my car to the dealer for an oil change. I was told that I needed to replace all 4 of my brakes. I told them not to do it because I wanted to get a second opinion. I took the car to Garage 31 and they told me that my brakes are fine and that I should get 10 to 15k out of them. They also did not charge me for checking the brakes. It's nice to know that there still honest mechanics out there. I highly suggest this shop if you need anything done to your car. read more

Our Saturday did not start off well, we needed to rush our cat to the VCA Animal Hospital ER. After dropping her off for emergency care and waiting to hear back from the vet, we were driving to a nearby Panera use a restroom when our vehicle threw a blinking check engine light and started buffeting. So a bad day got suddenly much worse. We used to live in this area, so we started to drive to a CarX, only to find they had closed up shop for good. So we searched the area and saw Garage 31 had good reviews. We called, and the owner/mechanic Clint told us to bring it over and he'd take a look at at. We were impressed right away when the shop was extremely clean with a nice waiting area (and a clean bathroom). Clint got our vehicle right in and checked it out. Just 20 minutes later he came by to tell us that while a cylinder was misfiring, it had corrected itself and should be ok to drive. He didn't even charge us for the diagnosis, and wished us and our cat good luck. I can't say enough good things about a car repair place that is trustworthy. I've come here for an oil change a couple times since moving to North Aurora. I brought my car in for an oil change yesterday afternoon. The signal for low tire pressure had been on for months, but I was too busy/lazy to look into it. Turns out a screw had punctured one of the tires, so they removed the screw, patched the hole, and inflated the tire. Not only that, but during the winter the splash guard which protects the car's undercarriage from the elements lost a screw and got bent. It was such that this plastic guard would frequently scrape against the ground and make a loud noise. Without me even asking, they fixed this, too, at no charge! Overall very pleased with the service from Keith. He clearly wanted to ensure my car was in good shape. This is a shop I can trust to look out for me, not just their bottom line. After shopping around for tires, the price with installation & an alignment the tire choice and price was inline with dealer, box stores (who do not align) and chains like NTB prices. Great people working there, very clean and friendly environment. Loved the fact that the person working on my escape took it for a test drive to check the work they just performed! Bought a used car from someone that these morons did a lot of work on. These morons do not know the meaning of OEM parts. They like to put in after market junk in the car and charge a lot away. They did and oil change and never checked the anti freeze reservoir it was empty. Put new air filter in could not even clean out the air box. Put new tires on the car the receipt does not even show if they ask the customer to check alignment. Did a blower motor and put in and after market AC Delco in a Nissan car. I have all the receipts what this garbage hole has done. I would not give theses morons the time of day.They try to do everything at the least cost to the customer and use after market garbage. I got news for you garage 31 some after market parts are alright to use. It depends on what is being repaired. They did a lower control arm on this car to. For what was payed for this after market junk . I could of put on the car and OEM control arm is is much superior. Do yourself a favor do your home work before you go to any shop. read more
