I was 90 miles from home, near starved rock , on a Sunday when i got a flat. Everything is closed on sundays near starved rock and most places there may not be equipped to deal with a tesla. It was going to cost me over $700 for a tow back to my area. I had the tire slime that is supposed to coat the inside of your tire so you can drive together to a place. But didn't seem to work, i still had a slow leak. So in trying to find a place open on Sunday that could handle Tesla, i found this Firestone in Aurora. I spoke with Bryan on phone and he confirmed they could do it, but they may not have the right tire in stock. Fortunately i had an extra tire with me, and learned the hard way, the night before, a tow truck can't just put a new tire on a rim, it has to be done at a shop. So i drive to Firestone, refilling my tire with air until i got there. Fortunately, that worked. Brian couldn't have been nicer . The shops pretty busy and he tries hard to accommodate everyone. They put on the new tire and i was on my way. I was so relieved and so grateful for Brian's care. I highly recommend this Firestone. I can tell they care bout their clientele. They were closing, but the young man locking the door said he would take the time to repair the tire. 25 minutes later we were fixed and on our way and he would not take any paymen! I used to bring my old beater car here yrs ago & between them and merlins200k shop we kept her going as long as we could. Now I have a newer car that I use for long work commutes & rideshare driving on the side. They do the Uber inspections for$ 20. They are honest & professional & Relatively quick with all of the maintenance I've had done there & never have to go back the next day cause something wasn't finished right- I'm talking about you Discount Tires now that my TPS sensors are forever messed up. I brought my 2006 GMC Envoy in thinking I needed at least 2 new tires last month. They checked out my SUV tire's wear, inflated all my tires for free and it turned out my tires still had a decent amount of tread and the wear was fine. They could have sold me 2 tires and I would have bought them- but they were honest enough to check mine out and let me know I didn't need any. I really appreciated that as it saved me money I really didn't have to spend. Today I came in with a tire loosing air. Turned out to be a nail. Even though it was getting late and I didn't have an appointment, they repaired my tire fast and for a very fair price. When I do need tires, I'll be back. I think somewhere in the back of my mind I told myself to avoid a tire store like Firestone. Maybe I thought they would pressure me to pay for services I didn't really need? I was wrong. I came here because I received a coupon for a discount oil change. I have bought tires at other Firestone shops so I'm familiar with the brand. The customer wait area is well kept, with comfortable seating, free coffee, and a TV. The service writer was courteous and didn't try to up sell me anything. I made an appointment online and they started working on my car right away. Overall it's a nice place to get your car serviced. read more

My Ford Ranger is over at Firestone North Aurora right now. I took it in for a stuck parking brake. I knew which rear wheel was stuck and knew what the parts should cost. They called me an hour later and quoted $650 to replace both rear drums and pads and a bunch of other brake parts. I told the guy I couldn't afford that and he said he could get the price down to $248 and just do the one wheel that was stuck... he'd leave the other side alone. He called back an hour later and told me that after he turned the drum on the side he said he wouldn't touch it was no longer thick enough to use. He told me he'd have to replace that drum as well for $98. I called 3 different parts suppliers in the area and got prices of around $35-40 for a new drum. So this place not only charges $106/hour for labor but also marks up their parts at 250-280% So I ended up paying $120 in markup fees on drums alone from supply houses 2 minutes away. Literally a 2 minute drive and I get charged at least $120 in markup?! Never again Firestone... never again at ANY of your locations!!! J. Faust read more

Stay far away from this place! I took my truck in for a coolant leak. Started out $24.99 for the inspection. Went to $750 to replace the water pump. As the day went on and they continued to add parts it got up to $1111.35. When I went to pick up the truck the manager could not figure out how to enter a business check into the point of sale system. Now we are 30 minutes past the closing time. He would not accept the business check which was the only form of payment I had, so I offered to leave him the check and come back the next morning with a personal check. I left with my truck. 10 minutes later he called me asking if he could come to my house to pick up the check, I told him yes but bring my receipt. A short while later a knock on my door by the police and I was arrested for retail theft. Instead of waiting until the next morning for a check, they now have to wait 2 months for the court date to get paid. I should have gone to NTB but I wanted to give a local guy a try. read more

Their pricing is reasonable for the area (I've seen more) and they do an excellent job and it's done in a fair amount of time. I just wish they had loaner cars so I wouldn't have to wait in the lobby or arrange for a ride while my car is getting repaired. Other than that, I recommend them. read more

I was very happy with the service I experienced from this location. I had a bad experience from a different car service location the day prior and felt I was being taken advantage of. I was experiencing pressure dropping in one of my tires and feared there was a nail or leak in the tire. It was was over the weekend and needed to find a tire service center open on Sunday. I called first thing Sunday morning and Mark was able to fit me in right away. They checked my tires, as well as the battery, which the other repair center told me needed to be replaced. Mark told me the tire was actually fine. He said the treads had about 50 percent tread left and recommended a time frame to re-check. He told me the battery was fine and also recommended when to re-check. They checked my vehicle and gave me peace of mind for no charge. Stay Away! Picked up a screw in a tire and tried to get it patched here. They wouldn't do it, saying I had a "green" tire that could not be plugged. Lie #1 Then I could not buy just one tire - I had to buy the whole set because I had all-wheel drive. Lie #2 Then, when I refused their offer for $758 worth of tires, they pulled the screw out of the tire and I had a hell of a time getting to an honest shop. The guys at this location are wonderful! They are kind and want to help and not take advantage of your need for repairs. They are honest about what is primary to be fixed and what could wait.
