One of the larger GAP stores I've visited, which is their flagship stores on Oxford Street, overall it is a pretty large and cool store, it is overall much more spacious than other GAP stores I have visited in cities such as Manchester, Liverpool and London. (See other reviews).
Over multiple floors, accessed by a staircase or lift (the latter, however, had a problem on my visit where certain buttons on one side of the lift did not work, there were no signs on the lift, even after reporting it the manager attempted to do nothing.)
I did like the cool aspects of design around the store, to make the store stand out, in many ways, it went above and beyond a usual GAP store, it had signs explaining the products such as the difference between their items from jeans to T-shirts, to underwear and more.
They had a nice selection of full-priced and discounted goods and an area where you can personalise your denim which is pretty cool.
The manager who I reported the lift issue to, did seem helpful in taking me into the lift to make sure everything worked okay when I explained it must have been an issue with one of the buttons (it was a big lift with two sets), where the lift basically didn't light up, shut and did nothing, she made no attempt to call anyone to fix it or at least put a sign on to explain it for other customers, which was a shame.
There also was so much wasted space in the store, the small cut-away between the lift and shop-floor, which just felt like a wasted opportunity to have something.
A pretty cool GAP store, their flagship UK store is not without its' flaws but it does impress me, especially compared to many other GAP stores such as London - Piccadilly which has really let me down, so perhaps it does even warrant a four-star rating. read more
