Has a reasonable amount of console games but almost no PSV games. I managed to pre-claim a copy of Zero Time Dilemma before hitting the store. Unfortunately the cashier was slow as ever and it easily took 20 minutes of waiting 3rd in line (!). Granted there was only one staff worker there, but that simply means that management up there in the higher reaches of GameStop should be adjusted. Avoid this place at all costs! I traded in an old Xbox, three controllers, and several games and used the store credit to purchase what I was told was a brand-new PS5 controller. When I got home, I noticed the packaging was torn in multiple places and the original factory seal had clearly been removed and replaced with a different sticker. The controller's color also didn't match what was shown on the box. I immediately returned to the store to exchange it, only to be told they wouldn't allow a return or exchange because I had opened the box--even though it was obvious the package had already been opened before I bought it. (The two ladies acknowledged and admitted it was ripped when they sold it to me and claimed the multiple tears on the box were from putting it on the sales rack - which is an absolute joke). The only option offered was another trade-in for $15 on a controller I had just purchased for $79.99 less than two hours earlier. It's clear I was sold a pre-owned or previously opened controller as new, and GameStop refused to stand behind the product. I feel completely taken advantage of and ripped off and will not be shopping here ever again. Buy your games elsewhere--this place is a rip-off and doesn't stand behind what it sells. Try Walmart or Target they will still be in business years from now and will let you return/exchange - unlike GameStop. read more

They didn't have Roblox cards so they gave him a receipt with a code on it that was invalid. They were so rude. They won't do anything about it. I just stopped in to do some birthday shopping for my 12 year old. Had planned to buy two new video games and some Pokémon collectables. Probably would have dropped close to $200. Unfortunately, the clerk stopped us at the door and told us he was leaving for lunch so we should come back in 30 minutes. He said no one else was there to keep the store open. My son and I were there last Saturday and we had a good experience with David. He was friendly and very helpful right when we walked through the front door. Their selection is hit or miss but that's with any GameStop and service varies, but I just wanted to give a shoutout to David. Went there for a Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions ETB and 3 pack blister restocks earlier this morning and this employee named Marvin is very unprofessional. I was the 11th in line to wait since around 11pm last night til the store opened at 10 am sharp. Before the doors were open, the first few people who are in front of me in line told me the employees says "No pictures or recording videos (I bet that's Marvin warning everyone)." Now I get why Marvin doesn't want to admit he's a bad prick in this branch. A friend of mine was trying to buy ETB's but seems like Marvin is a big liar at the inventory count (Seems like he wants to keep the rest to himself and tamper w/ the product[s]). Don't wanna admit it, Marvin? Why don't you be more nicer to us, customers and stop being such a jerk? He even gave me the stank face while I was being respectful to him. I'm honestly uncomfortable w/ Marvin. He needs to leave this job if he's not happy about working there and learn how to treat others w/ full respect. Marvin is one of the rudest unprofessional employees. He is always sitting down watching movies on his phone while eating and drinking food. I'm sure they have a break room if he needs to stop and take a break that's understandable but eating and watching movies on your phone not only makes it feel like your interrupting him but looks unprofessional for an employee talk with food in his mouth. It's obvious he's bothered when customers are in the store. Not only is he lazy he's not helpful. When trading in my accessories he tried to tell me I shouldn't trade it in and said I should sell it On the street. He didn't even know the correct value of the trade in. He said it changes every minute. He kept making comments of how I'm not getting what the accessory is worth and how he wouldn't trade it in. How it's better to just sell it to someone because GameStop gives you so little of a trade in and it's not worth it. I don't think employees should talk down on their employer if you don't like your employer don't work there. I also don't think he should be trying keep taking me out of trading in what I want to trade in. I don't want to go try and sell something to someone I'm obviously here to trade it in and it's literally like brand new. Another time I came in and it was like 45 minutes until closing and he kept yelling to customers the were closing in 15 minutes and had some of the gates pulled down. He also said they didn't have the game we were looking for when I already checked online and it had the option for in-store pick up. He said the online was not accurate I was annoyed so I left and guess what? When I went in the next day he wasn't there and the person who opened confirmed the game was in-stock. I had a poor experience last Saturday. It was a busy day and there were 3 people working there. One woman said "welcome to Game Stop" and clacked away at the computer looking for god knows what the whole time, one man worked the register, and a third employee was seemingly paid to stare at the wall and avoid any contact with the customers. After waiting in line for quite some time I made it to the front and asked if I could use my monthly $5 reward for a gift card, which I've done several times before. The guy just shook his head and said, "nope, can't do that". I said "Ok then I would like to get..." and reached for an action figure literally two feet behind me and he says "NEXT!" like the soup guy from Seinfeld. I wasn't going to go to the back of the line so I just left. I've been a Game Stop reward member for years. I found him rude and simply terrible at customer service. Get over yourself! read more

Horrible customer service. the 2 guys that were working today (one older black guy and one older white guy with a beard) were so rude and acted annoyed by any questions we had. they were rude to every customer that was in the store too. i don't know why they act like everyone's an inconvenience to them. they would get annoyed at any of our questions and wasted so much of our time that we ended up putting our items back on the shelves and left. we stood in line for about 25 minutes while they very slowly helped 2 other customers infront of us and the whole time they were just condescending toward them. We were so surprised with how they spoke to the customers, I don't know why they need to act like they're so much smarter than everyone, it's their job to answer questions and look stuff up but they just were so rude about it all and not very helpful. I even asked if they had something in stock and the worker said "I bought all of them the other day". I'm convinced that guy is only there to scalp items before customers can get to them. I don't think I'll ever go back to the Vacaville GameStop which is very sad because I grew up buying my games and consoles from there. I would leave 0/5 stars if possible. and before you assume it was a one time thing it wasn't, whenever I deal with either of those workers it's unpleasant and today I hit the jackpot by picking a day both of those guys were working. I was shopping with my gf and they had left a sale tag out a buy two get three free we asked if this sale was still happening. I love this location is right up the street and near the other stores that are available to shop at. The store capacity is only six people because it is so small but that is not a problem. I have only been in this shop a couple of times, only when my grandson is in town. I've been ignore each time and had to ask for help. But my last visit on Jan 07 left me with the promise I will never shop there again and I will share my story. We were not greeted upon entering, we had to ask for help, we had to ask for prices. Who has the right to call a women "Granny" just because she is with her 3 grandchildren? That's what the only staff member kept calling me. The manager Etzel is terrible. Came to return a malfunctioning controller that I paid for the extended warranty on. The girl at the front said they had them in stock and needed the code to make the exchange. The manager rolled her eyes and said they don't have them in stock. She said they couldn't order another to the store but I could drive an hour away to Sacramento. Needless to say I went into the Fairfield store where they had one in stock. Just took advantage of the switch game sale they were having. Game stop is allowing for online orders to be picked up in store so I took that route and bought "Assassins Creed: The Rebel Collection" for $19.99. I ordered the new version as it was only $2 more than used. The vacaville location I ordered from had both available. So, I get off work and head to the store. The employee working was great and followed all of the social distancing and was very professional. He was great. My low rating is for my purchase and the policies this company has in place. I get to my car to share my excitement in this purchase on social media and I'm greeted to an open game in the box. Open is not new. I wouldn't have paid $19.99 for an open version of this game, especially since the used version was also available. I immediately went back to the store and the same employee explained that GameStop uses retail copies of the game as their in store display box, which I'm sure has been handled excessively, and that the game itself has not been used. I bought this as new to avoid the possibility of the game being handled and I do feel cheated in my purchase. Again the staff here has always been great this is a review of my retail experience with the purchase. I will honestly never buy anything online from GameStop because of this poor experience. In store I'm sure the representative would have explained why my "new" game was open and I would have the choice to continue with the purchase. I am truly sorry to post this, as I like to highlight the good, rather than the bad. The problem: I had purchased 2 previously owned XBOX controllers, and there was a problem with both. I tried to exchange the 2nd one, but the Asst Manager, Itzel, refused to accommodate me because I did not have the receipt " in hand". I had a screen shot, with all the information on it. The good...there was a wonderful employee by the name of Abe, who really tried to help me and make me happy. However, Asst. Manager Itzel, stopped everything, by stating that they needed the " actual" receipt, as it could have been " Altered"...I don't like the implication that I would even DO anything like that! The good...I called the Fairfield Gamestop, and spoke with Jesse, he was very professional and helpful and offered to exchange the broken controller, or we could pay the difference and upgrade to a new one. Thank you Jesse! I also requested to speak to a District manager, Jesse made that happen. The good...the District Manager, Rafferty Tamo, called the Vacaville location and I got a call, telling me to go ahead and enter the store and Abe would help us. ( By the way, I did NOT leave the parking lot while all this was happening). The good...I received the replacement controller. The BAD....the Asst.Manager Itzel, was NOT helpful, not professional, had an attitude, and even though I insisted on speaking to a Manager ( Nai..), she insisted that she ( the Manager) was NOT on the clock. However, she did call Nai, and apparently the Manager, Nai, upheld the decision to NOT EXCHANGE the controller that I had paid for... The Bad...I am extremely disappointed in the Management at this location. The Assistant Manager was rude, and had an attitude. The Manager, Nai, backed up the Assistant manager...I didn't even get to speak with Nai. I did give it one star primarily for Abe, who was extremely helpful, within his scope of what he was able to do for me, for Jesse, the Fairfield Employee ( the Managerof the Fairfield location), and Rafferty Tamo, the D.M. for making it happen. My suggestion...maybe Itzel should be given some Formal training on pleasing the customer, and Management skills? read more

I came in today to get some store credit for some games, They act like I'm a dirt bag for trading in such old games, if they're such a problem don't accept them. I had a bag on the counter and he rudely to me to "get it off his counter." One of the games had a slight smudge on it and he said he wouldn't take it, luckily I had a lens cleaner on me and it wiped right off not sure why he made such a big deal out of nothing. I also came into the store on Saturday to trade in a couple ps3 systems and was aggressively informed that he would only take one, this was done without seeing their condition just on principle. I can understand if it's store policy but he didn't need to be a dick about it and could've stared that. He automatically assumed I didn't have the proper cords and controllers and said he couldn't take the system without them when they were sitting in the box. (I had a box briefly on the counter and was also very rudely told to "remove it from his counter," I have a broken spine so it's a little hard to promptly remove a heavy box with an old ps3 in it). I can handle bad service but the level of contempt and condemnation in his body language and speech is abhorrent. Get better staff. Disgusting. If you don't want to work there quit and find a job that doesn't require dealing with customers. Corporate has been emailed also. I don't even want to step foot in this store to spend my store credit until he's gone. read more

I've never had a manager say it was I who was disrespecting his employee as soon as I walked in to pick up my order, trying to pick a fight with me.
