To be honest I feel horrible for the employees at this location. It's the busiest in the area and they are so short staffed it's crazy. There is always a wait to purchase things and there should always be multiple people on the registers. Stop stocking In the back and go up front. The store manager is super nice and most of this isn't his fault but if this company wants to survive they need to fix their biggest cash flow since their app and online process isn't the greatest. read more

I used to work at this GameStop ages ago. Store lay outs different (not bad comes with time) and the customer service was atrocious. No hello nothing no wonder why people choose online. Kinda disappointed to see a store I busted my back for turn to this. Costs are the same great deals and a ton of used games only real positives I can push read more

Came in to trade an old Xbox and was treated horribly by the staff. Was told by the manager "Eddy" that the console was in "horrible condition... unable to accept in the condition it was in... no cables? No trade in...". This experience made me want to go to another competitor but I had a great relationship with a different store where I was treated like a customer finally and made my purchase WITH a trade in. I was also able to trade in another console at ANOTHER store. NO bs, NO making me feel unwanted and uncomfortable at the other store. Please review that manager as he is teaching these values to the other staff which will only make people go elsewhere for their purchases. read more

Guy with long hair behind resister - awful customer service - BTW I know you have Bowman Chrome because another store confirmed

Horrible service and a terrible selection. They are just scalpers that sell cards not worth the value

Guy who was working Tuesday 3:45pm 3/3/26. Was an incredibly rude incel. Customer service was horrible he kept coming up with bs reasons to deny out trade in of a controller. He talked to us like we were dumb children. He for sure has no friends and no sx life. Genuinely makes me want to never go back to GameStop ever. read more

I called this store they said they could order a game for my son just to come in. so i came in and tried to order the game for my son and he told me i could not have it delivered to the store bcuz he had no way to contact me so apparently this store is from the 1800 and doesn't have a phone or any email access. The store mgr said it could b delivered to my home but he had no clue which service would deliver and i can't have packages done to my door they will go missing. I asked if i could speak to his supervisor and he said he doesn't have one. so i asked or his area mgr or his district mgr phone number or email. He told me that there was not one he took my number and i'm sure he threw it in the garbage. i called the corporate office and they told me the store mgr has the phone number and he should have given it to me they also told me they would have a mgr call me back. no one did. my son is 9 and he's just getting into games we started shopping game stop recently but we will not return. terrible service no accountability for the poor customer service on top of it. on a side note the guy in front of me at the register had a big purchase and the mgr told him sorry we don't have bags but u can buy one for $2. shittiezt ever if i spend $260 u better give me a bag for my stuff. so ewe and ghetto. if i could give zero stars totally would. read more

I was trying to get a used xbox series x controller in the color deep pink. The price was $54.99 on the bag, $44.99 on the website, and she typed it in at $64.99. That's the price of a NEW controller. Then, the (not so) sweet girl behind the counter rang me up for $70.25 after tax. I bit my tongue and paid for it, except for the fact that the system waited 30 seconds before saying declined. Then, she made me pay AGAIN. My bank account was charged both times. Overcharged, both times. If I had known it would've been $140.50 for one xbox controller I would've gone to Target across the parking lot and used my student discount. read more

This is my goto place for buying and selling games. The staff are helpful. You can aslo register for gamestop pro membership which gives you $5 monthly to spend on anything and you'll get higher rewards and better trade-in prices. Took my little minion to spend his birthday money and he's also giving his input on this review. He said they were nice to him and helpful finding his game. He also said that he saved a lot of money on the game he wanted because it should have been a lot more! (However he did get it from the used section) it was our first time at this location and it was a little hard to find because it's a big area, but once you find it there's tons of parking and easy to remember where it's at for next time. read more

GameStop - Videos & Video Game Rental Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

Most family and friends know I am a game nerd, that's right I play video games, I'm not ashamed, but I live a busy life so getting some good time in with Xbox isn't always there, so when I get a new game you best believe I go all HAM on it and play for hours, yes hours, some conversations in the house are Mom can you take me to blah blahs house, no Eric I can't, can't you see I am being chased by the law and I need to assassinate the fool who is running from me , gawd learn to drive already, Truth right there! Haha Christmas came and went and lucky me I got a Game Stop gift card, and when I finally got some free time I went shopping!! The game I was after Assassin Creed 4, I needed to complete my collection, also picked up Saints Row (seeder than grand theft auto) and the Sims 3 (hey don't laugh) I did see that they had Alice, Return to Madness which I will be going back for, also might be picking up a Wii to bust out with some Mario Party haha or Zelda yea baby! This Game Stop had everything thing I needed and plus some games I didn't know I wanted. There are plenty of new games along with preowned games. The Sims 3 game that I got was preowned, but my Xbox wasn't able to read the disk, I did take it back and got an exchange for another game without any issues. You also can join the Game Stop reward program, and get some games at a cheaper price! read more

Rude staff @charlie. And the other guy checked out someone else even though I was first in line. Thanks. Never again.

Went back three separate occasions to check on a product that Had been pre-paid. Each time they promised they will call me back after checking with corporate, but they never do. The last time, I told them that they would not call me back and he assured me it would be different this time. That was three weeks ago, so I went back to the store. Their solution was to give me my money back, but clearly I could have done that six months ago if I didn't want the item. The aggressive attitude of their store manager toward a customer who had been back four times was simply ridiculous. read more

GameStop offers phone trade ins yet every time I've come to this location I'm turned away without being able to provide them the phone I intend to trade in they have either had their systems "down" or received an email notifying that no location is able to do so 30 mins after I called in for availability... 3 times I've been turned down and each time it's been the same person who comes up with some sort of excuse read more

These people are literal scam artists, I arrived to location three hours before closing on way to see that they were closing up the store. I asked the employees at the front why they were closing if it was three hours until closing. They then glared at me and then one of them said I am the fucking manager of what I say goes. The two employees then started verbally berating me until I got into my car and left. This is definitely the worst game stop location, and there is absolutely no reason why it they shouldn't shut this one down. read more

My son went in to take back a nintendo switch that he bought here, he couldn't find the receipt but asked about store credit. Nothing wrong with the switch, everything in box still PLUS a game. The "a hole" of the Male employee there said he would only give him $120 dollars for everything. Son asked about store credit, the 'a hole' employee said no. Now keep in mind there is NOTHING wrong with it, still new in box PLUS a game. Male employee told him if he wanted more than that for it to go sell it to a relative!! Excuse the eff ot of me how DARE you have your employees talk to your customers like that. My son is 17 years old. He left, will NEVER shop here again with JERKS like that working there !!... by the way he went to another Game Stop at another location where employees there treated him much better and let him get store credit. read more

I've been going to GameStop for at least 10+ years, this when I just walked into no one even said anything to me and I'm employee acted like I was doing her a favor by asking her for a specific game... When she told me the price of a used copy of red dead redemption two on Xbox one it's about $10 over what you can buy the game on Xbox for so I asked her if they would match it and she declined just overall act like they don't want to be there but I guess if I was making 12 bucks an hour I would feel the same way? Super unfriendly and no customer service whatsoever, who that's a customer walked right inside of a store for over 10 minutes without asking if they need help with anything? read more

Location And over all company has Gone down hill and doesn't seem to care at all. They had absolutely nothing I was looking for. They're rude to customers and the employees at this location are the worst! I had gone multiple times to make sure I had a special edition copy of a game I wanted and the day of release finally came when I showed up to pick up my copy they said I only had a digital copy preordered no special edition just the regular game. The employees tried to claim it was my fault, but who the fuck preorders digital copies. I'm done with GameStop forever now. read more

Don't like how much they sell used games for. Way overpriced. 25-40 dollars for old xbox 360 games. Seriously? I can get the same games new at best buy or toys r us for half the price. I would have given this place 1 star but I found a gem for only $4 (Battlefield Bad Company 2). It wasn't scratched much either but it was the only good deal available. Lower the prices, there's no reason why used games should cost more here than they do brand new everywhere else, especially when a lot of them are scratched really bad. read more

This Gamestop is nicely stocked and it is very clean. When I checked in here, I was picking up a copy of 007: Blood Stone. It is currently on sale NEW for $9.99. A fantastic price! Here's the catch. I tried their "Pick-Up In Store" service, in which you pick out the game online, you enter either your Rewards Card Number (which I have), or you enter your Credit Card number, just to make sure that you aren't making a bogus claim. Then you can go ahead and pick it up right away in store. BUT. They gave me a USED copy of the game, and wanted to charge me $22.95! Are you kidding?! I just saw the ad online, and I reserved a NEW copy for $9.99. The last thing I want is a colossal mix-up... I don't know how they could have messed this up. This place would have gotten a 5 star rating, but with the colossal mess up with the pickup, I will only give them 4. read more

I know nothing about video games nor do I particularly enjoy playing them. But I am dragged in here on occasion so that my boyfriend can browse. The place is always packed on weekends and it's a tiny store, so that can get annoying. On the bright side, the employees seem really knowledgeable in games and are able to offer recommendations for games they think you'd enjoy based on other games you've previously played. I'll probably be back here around the holidays to pick up some gifts and ask for their recommendations! read more

This location has been great every time I've come in but today topped it off. My son's xbox 360 was purchased there around Christmas time and had stopped connecting to the network leaving the console unable to be used for online gaming. Receipt was lost and it would have been very easy for them to give me a hard time about returning it 8 months later - even though I got the 1 yr warranty, most places try to scree you out of it. I didn't have my actually warranty in hand and Josh (the supervisor) went above and beyond to make sure I was able to get a working console. Very much appreciated! read more

I don't usually review chains, but I had a five-star experience today, and figured it was worth sharing, given the three-star overall rating. I called in to find out if I could reserve a copy of Fallout 76, and was delighted when the manager informed me that they had released the game early. They shared in my elation as I purchased the game that I had been looking forward to for months, and got a day early! Quick, courteous, and informative. I'll keep picking up my new releases here. read more

One of the only reasons I can continue to enjoy living in 'Merica. Freindly, well trained, well managed staff. The employees are generally not knowledgable. And worse, they often spread misinformation. I have often been the recipient of odd, false rumors about future products and been advised incorrectly about current products. Low level employees are usually pleasant to chat with and share opinions regarding games they enjoy. Managers, however, are often rude and condescending if you don't want to pre-order things. Avoid Gamestop if possible. read more

Typical small store with lots of new and used video games and accessories. A couple of guys working the registers and trying to help get customers out if the store so they can help other customers. No matter how few people are in the store, don't expect to get a transaction completed in less than 20 minutes, as the employees always seem to have better things to do than deal with the customers. When they are forced to interact with you, then you can expect either complete apathy or barely concealed resentment, the latter often manifesting in inventing problems with your trade-ins to drive down the already laughable credit values. Factor all that in with the horrendous Tempe Market Place parking, and you'll really see the advantages of driving to almost any other Gamestop. read more

As a big gamer with both new generation consoles and a nice Rig for a PC I buy quite a few games. I've been to this store on a few occasions typically because my wife is getting taking care of something in Tempe Market Place and I'm killing time. However on this occasion I was trying to find a particular game Best Buy nor Target had in stock other than online so I figured I'd try GameStop. 1st the store is very fairly unorganized, with toys and little nicknacks are spread out all over the place that little to nothing to do with gaming, and it was so overly cluttered to check out no one knew where to stand, and by the time I was three people away from getting to the front of the line I had already been waiting for about 10 minutes while one of their employees is ringing people up the other is opening boxes, and stocking the already cluttered floor, and with over 10 people in line at one point, not wants did considered hopping on a register to help people so they didn't have to wait in line 15+ minutes to buy a $20 used game like me!! This was just today so this wasn't a Christmas rush my any means it was a just Saturday at 1130am. I appreciate they had the game I wanted and the $2 warrant on scratched games is cool so I gave it two stars everything else was an absolute fail. read more

Me and my wife went into this store on 5/15/2013 around 5:45PM to exchange a xbox 360 that I purchased 5/6/2013 that RRoDed. Just wanted to do a direct exchange for same product. The lone clerk there, did not get his name cause his tag was covered in flare, blocking the name, took care of us. He opened the box, and while talking to us and the other costumers in the line(Store was busy), slide his thumbnail multiple times along the warranty seal on the back of the console, breaking it. He then said since it was broken, they couldn't exchange it. Review will change of things get better after contacting the store manager/corporate. read more
