I'm usually hesitant to walk into GameStop, lately it seems the corporation is filled with people that are a little bit angry and have a dislike for customer service, that wasn't the case. I was blown away with how efficient this guy named Andrew was. He was by himself, handling multiple customer trade ins while engaging with customers that just wanted to make a purchase or have questions. Well, I have given GameStop another chance and they are improving, somewhat. I brought in some games to sell, and they didn't take some of them, with no reason given, and low-balled me on two others, stating on the receipt that they needed to be "resurfaced" yet being in perfect condition. Also, they need to give a decent amount for trades. A $60 game will only get $8 in trade and like to see that get better as my kids like to rotate out games quickly. They are getting better, but still have a way to go if I'm going to go back here over the Superstition Springs store. Service was friendly, though. read more

Well I do not know what I was expecting to happen when I walked into this store as my past experiences have been pretty bad. Yes I could go to my local Wal-Mart or super pricey Best Buy store but, I like to buy a game without having to sell a kidney. Call me crazy (lol). Anyways my experience always starts off OK as I normally get at least a hi or a short glance in my direction to let me know that at least they noticed I have walked in the building. The problems seem to start when I try to have a conversation with any of their employees. It seems that instead of hiring people who have ever played a video game, they would rather employ a staff of uneducated, and unmotivated teens more focused on talking about how much they hate their job. Now we all have done the same thing but not in front of customers while they are looking over merchandise. Let me be fair and make the point that there are tons of games and many systems out there so it is impossible to know everything. But when I ask you about a game that you have posters for tacked up all over your store and you tell me you do not know then there is a problem. So will I ever go back there?? Maybe someday when they increase their selection, lower the prices, and take the time to train their employees. Best service I've ever received from a game store. Went in to purchase Battlefield 1 using trade in credit and store promos. The manager, Kate, helped me through the process and even showed me how to maximize my trade in values so I was able to purchase both Battlefield 1 and Skyrim. Terrible customer service by the store leader (I was simply trying to return a game). He made every excuse for why he couldn't help me, or why he couldn't call the other store to verify my return was valid. It was very disheartening especially given how simple it was and how simply it was resolved by going to another GameStop. Please don't support this location and cause yourself the stress of unhelpful employees. The other employee, a non Store leader (at least she didn't have the title on her badge like the male did - a female - at least tried to help but I politely let her know the other Store agreed to help me. I bought a Halo Xbox one system this week that was $499. Inside was an Xbox 360 headset. I brought the headset in to exchange it and the assistant manager said I have to call Microsoft since its their mistake. He wouldn't exchange it for me. I spend a lot of money here every year. Of all of the GameStops in the Phoenix Metro area, this is the best to go to. I have been going to this one since the day I bought my house down the road and I would go out of my way to keep shopping here. I have a great rapport with Dean, Jason, Kevin, and Todd who do an outstanding job of providing knowledgable information about games and are not afraid to share their opinions on a particular game. If I come in not knowing what I am looking for, the staff are great at finding out what I like to play and recommending an appropriate title I might like. If you want to go to a place where you'll get canned responses and foolishly unhelpful staff, go buy from Wal Mart or Best Buy, in many cases you will end up spending more of your money at those places. But if you want honest prices and excellent staff, hit up this GameStop, they are the best. read more
