This is my favorite GameStop in the whole wide world. One of the reasons I love this GameStop is because of Mike. He's been there a while and he's an expert that I trust with all my gaming questions. And he's cool to talk to with a great aura. I got five games for my stepson's Xbox 360, and a medium size surprise, cupcake plushy from my stepdaughter all for only 50 bucks! read more

Staff took hours to get a trade in front of me done. They do trades faster at the Truxel location.

$18 store credit for a PS5 controller... Didnt know they would scam me , needed a ps4 controller . wanted to trade in to get one but $18 for a brand new ps5 controller. read more

Completely scammers , made my sister sign before telling her how much she was getting for her PlayStation 5 controller only to give her 18 bucks . once she found out how much they were giving her she want to not trade it . they told her if she wants it she have to pay it for $60 . yall are complete jokes at this store . Misleading and scamming customers. The lack of communication about how much she would get cash or store credit and to offer her damn near nothing only to try to sell it to her damn near 3.5x the amount you give her is crazy . Do not recommend going to this store ! read more

GameStop your return policy is bullshit!! To say the least. It's setup so the customer loses either way. You don't know if your like a game until you play it! Their advice is to watch someone else play smdh. Garbage!! read more

Service from Mike was top tier, made me feel welcomed and was super enthusiastic about my questions, definitely coming back l!!! read more

I had such an amazing experience at this GameStop. It's small and outta of the way and the management and team were super polite, professional and just all around super rad to deal with. Mike the manager was outstanding and went above and beyond what he had too to make my experience awesome the young lady who was with him is an absolute legend and such an asset to this company. I can't wait to go in again and see them both for another great experience. Thank you both and always stay true to your rad selfs. read more

Went in to trade my sons Xbox s for an Xbox x. Tanya and Mike were exceptional. Best customer service including making sure all the customers that were waiting that they were ok and thanking them for their patience. Both were super knowledgeable and were focused on making sure we not only have a good experience but that our time and money were not being wasted. Best service we've had at any game stop for years read more

Don't know why this place has such bad ratings. Always a good experience and awesome place to get Pokémon packs. Staff are super nice and welcoming, the only GameStop I go to! Pokémon collector tip: They have Evolving Skies packs here, the only place I can find them. read more

We went in to get a game from this store. It's a brand new game and they said they can seal the game in packaging without the case and still was going to charge us as if it was brand new sealed. How can you claim it's brand new sealed in box but not give us the case sealed? They did not even check to see if other stores had it in the area. Worst customer service ever! read more

Stopped by yesterday as I was going to the flooring store next door. Right as I open the door I see a sign that says "PS5 Pre-Orders Sold Out". I ask to confirm if the sign is current and the guy without looking up says "yep, sold out really fast". Man, do better; your method of delivery sucks. Go to the GameStop on Greenback and Sunrise where the people that work there are not bitter, and are informative like telling you when they think there will be more pre-orders and when to check back. read more

This store is awesome. It has a lot of vintage games and the sales staff is professional and very knowledgeable very knowledgeable. I recommend with a with a 5 star rating. read more

Apparently if you're a veteran and ur military id is older than a certain year they reject it and deny your discount. Apparently my veteran status expires at gamestop. Talk about military UNfriendly. read more

Granted none of the locations are great this one is absurdly terrible for lack of customer service. Employees are rude and snarky for asking questions. Do yourself a favor and go to any other location besides this one. Especially if the black woman is working. read more

Showed up at 7:05pm just to have them tell me they close at 7 instead of 8 starting right now. Lame as hell. Drove my sons all the way here just to have them get ridiculously let down. F'n GameStop!!!! read more

This is the second time I e been to this location. Both times I was "helped" by the same guy and with the same results, nil! Don't go to this location. You will undoubtably be disappointed. read more

I came to this Gamestop the other week with my PTSD service dog, and I found the two workers there rude and horrible. First off I come in with my dog, who is small for her breed, a lab mix, and one of the workers asked me if she was in training and a puppy. I told them no, and I explained her breeds. I waited in line with her and my dog was listening, and not acting up at all. After finding out that they couldn't take my games I was going to try and sell (which by the way one was brand new and unopened and I was only going to get 1.75 cash for the lot) I decided to look at games. While the guys thought I wasn't paying attention I heard them making rude comments about me and my dog. I am not in a wheel chair, but my dog is a certified service dog. The Gamestop person was talking about how he should fake an injury so that he could use a service dog, and other things along those lines. They were making terms towards me, and were making fun of me for having a service dog. Needless to say I will not be going back to this Gamestop, and I suggest those with Service Dogs go to another place, because they are not accepting of people having service dogs, and do not know their heads from their asses. My service dog has more class than these idiots. read more

I stopped going to this location for a long time, because I noticed a trend that they would ignore me, and only talk to my husband, even though I was the customer. If I went in alone, they were just rude. For years, I've driven miles out of my way, to avoid this store. When the store on Greenback and Garfield closed, I started going back occasionally, when I was in a time crunch. But, I still prefer to go other stores, when I have time. I've been in there 4 times in the past 6 months, to make a quick purchase. Each time, my husband was with me, and the staff were perfectly pleasant. I was starting to believe things had changed. Today, I went without my husband. Annnnnd, it was the same crappy experience I've come to expect. Employees who were pleasant as pie, when my husband was with me, were rude, cold and condescending. The person who rang up my purchase wouldn't even glance in my direction while I was talking to him. I had planned on pre-ordering 2 items, while I was in there. I'll just wait, and go to a different store. GameStop gets a ton of my money. This location isn't getting any more of my sales. Do better. read more

I like this location the best. I have visited this location for years, and I will continue going back. It is a large Gamestop store, and has a good variety compared to others I visit. The staff is usually very knowledgable on what I am looking for so it make shopping a breeze. The store is clean and well stocked. Game titles are always in alphabetical order, which also helps. Overall, I will return to this location. read more

I went to this Games stop on Madison avenue Sacramento along time ago, and traded in an original play station 3 controller which was very clean and barely used, and I was supposed to get $12.20 for it, but the person that worked their lied, and said the controller was sticky. So he gave me only $1.20 for this still clean, like new play station 3 Controller. He then pocketed the money (my money). Also awhile later I heard someone say aloud to a fellow employee that he should pocket his money. These two employee's working at this Game stop were intentionally ripping customers off for several years, and I was wondering where the store owner was to fire these two A**h**** for stealing the customers money, they don't work at this Game stop anymore, but dam do I dislike those two thieves. read more

So my Hubby brought our oldest boy in here before and they bought a package of pokeman cards & a sample game cd. My boys had saved up some change & wanted to buy some more pokeman cards. Unfortunately the pack they looked at before were on sale and they didnt have enough money. So we gave the boys the option of saving their money to save for their chosen cards or buy something else. They ended up buying a used ps3 game instead. There were 2 employees working & there were several unsavory fellows who came in for some reason. This location is in a not great area, so take that under advisement. I'm sure we'll be back there for pokeman cards or whatever. read more

Not too shabby, Gamestop. Me and my boyfriend went to Gamestop yesterday to get him a new game. We haven't been in this store since about this time last year, when I bought the last version of this game for him (he borrows and trades a lot with his friends). Anyway, after buying the game (used, I love that they have that option! Brand new, the game was $45.99...used, I paid $14.77) one of his friends informed him that they actually had that game, so he asked me to return it. After desparately looking for the receipt throughout the whole car (thank you, mother-in-law, for cleaning out the car for the first time in MONTHS. Of course, right?!) I gave up and went into the store with just the game and my Rewards Card in hand. I was a little upset when I was confronted by a bum outside, asked for money...but after turning him down numerous times, he gave up and went on his way (thank GOD. I swear, the one time that I go somewhere without my muscle and a bum decides I am the object of his new fascination). I finally make it into the store and, to my dismay, see there is a huge line. The woman with her babies (all 6 or so of them, no joke) is in front of me. The kids are doing great, for about 49 seconds...then they lose it. So now not only am I standing in a ridiculously long line just to return a video game, but I am trapped behind some unfortunate woman who decided she just HAD to bring all 20 of her children into THAT gamestop on THAT particular day. I finally make it up to the front of the line, and let me tell you...this guy was their saving grace. Not only was he polite and understanding, he even went out of his way to apologize to me about the wait and the crying children. I was able to return the game with no hassle, he just put the funds onto a gift card and sent me on my way. But wait, the adventure isn't over! No, not yet. As soon as I walked outside (and I mean IMMEDIATELY) I realize that my homeless friend was back...with a vengeance. Not only was he coming toward me, he had friends. ...about three of them. So, being a 21 year old female, I turned right back around and walked inside. The man that had helped me before I had left asked me if things were okay, and after I explained to him the situation, he walked me to my car and asked my lovely friends to vacate the premesis. So yes, this Gamestop gets my nod of approval. Gamestop behind-the-counter dude, I am forever in your debt. PS: I highly recommend getting a Gamestop Rewards card. It cuts costs almost in half, my boyfriend LOVES it. Plus, we can share an account...they give you two cards (one is a cute little keychain one!) so we don't ever have to keep track of who has it. I love it. (: read more

Horrible horrible sales and customer service!! We went in and the sales rep was telling us of a "great deal" that we could save a few extra bucks if we purchase through them versus Xbox. We thought that was great and since we were there, we went ahead and did it. Turns out we didn't save ANY money because they charge tax and Xbox doesn't. Yeah it's only a few bucks- but now it's principle. Also we brought it up while at game stop, the sales rep was very rude and kept talking in circles. It was incredibly frustrating and safe to say we will NEVER come here again. read more

We came in to buy a game. We weren't greeted and we noticed there was only one cashier and the phones were ringing off the hook. We found the game quickly and hopped in line, where we waited as the line got longer and the cashier helped only this one customer. We heard someone in the back and he didn't come out to help the line or answer the phones. We waited 10-15 minutes and nothing changed. We finally left because we knew Amazon would be quicker. read more

Simply wasn't pleasant. I have moved to digital for the convenience but was picking up a game for a friend for which he had zero down on. It was a hassle to get the game as I was not the one that placed the preorder. The preorder did not state this to be the case and said I only needed the confirmation which I did have at the time. Anyway, I was able to get the game after having to leave at first over their refusal to perform the simple transaction. Nonetheless I even did have to remind the 2 gentlemen about the preorder incentives for which my friend preordered the game for in the first place. The fact that I have to remind them about the preorder incentives for a Pokèmon title of all games seems to be an anomaly of incompetence. I think this visit all but confirmed my choice to stick to digial purchases from here on out. read more

Bought Dark souls 2 for the xbox one and When I buy a game new, it should be sealed with the game in the case along with all the pamphlets. But apparently new at this game stop is the new disc out of the case and all the pamphlets are gone when I said something about how it's suppose to be new, the response was that it was the last copy. Why not keep it behind the counter then instead. The guy seemed angry that I asked the question. All this and their computer was down. I may not be going to this location again. Lack of customer care and how they handle the merchandise is a little shady. read more

Every time I take my son to this location they have the game we are looking for. They are very professional over the phone, and they will hold the game for you. If they don't have the game, they will offer to find it for you at another location. My son loves this place, and if he is happy, I am happy. The location is in a good area also. I have been to many games stops and this one is our favorite. They also have many great deals if you purchase the membership card, which is only $9.99 for the entire year. That's their best deal. you get free magazines for 12 months and discounts on everything in the store with this membership. read more

I for one prefer ordering games and etc online but occasionally I stop by my local gamestop to pick up a game or two or even a game card. I've been going to this Gamestop for about 7 years now and I would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase games, console, or even game cards. Just don't expect the best customer service because sometimes they have big attitude. But if you're lucky you get the nice employees working which I'd say is about a third of the time. I recommend just ignoring them, getting your item, paying for it, and leave. The parking lot is pretty small but it's pretty much never full but it also shares it's parking lot with another place that's next to it. Also I recommend never selling any consoles or games at any Gamestop because they rip you off! read more

I've visited this store located on Madison and near auburn. All four times not one employee could put there head up to say HI. All four times I would spend at least 5 minutes inside without anyone acknowledging me. I've even been there with my kid and these folks are so oblivious. I figure the fourth time I would write a review. I won't give a date. But my last visit within in the last three days I walked in looked at some games and still no , hi how are you or anything. And the store only had one customer and two employees. So its not hard to see me. Anyways I walk out without making a purchase as I did 3 other visits, then the employee tells me good by and have a nice day. I told him you didn't even say hi, no need to say by. Four times I can't believe it. How oblivious to your customers can u be.. I don't expect all your attention but a simple hi goes a long way. So now if I go to the store I'm only looking at games that I'll purchase from online sites. I haven't yelped in about 5 or 6 years. read more
