This place is amazing! Every gamer in Sacramento should be going here! An actual video game store ran by people who game? Who would've thought! Definitely will be back soon! read more

Found great deals. They have a wide variety of selections across all modern and retro systems.

Went there today to check out what they had. Normally, I come here and have had good experiences in the past but today was just annoying. Found a few PS3 games and 1 PS1 game I wanted to take a look at (since it seems they removed ALL the games from the cases to prevent stealing? They weren't like that before.) and I waited around for over 25 minutes while browsing and not once did someone let me know they were ready to be seen. I had to ask the woman who was working there about seeing the discs and she told her husband (I think) and I didn't hear anything else back, so I left. Looked like they were busy doing other things too instead of helping customers. read more

Game Trader is one of the best video game stores in Sacramento. The employees know a lot about video games and are super helpful. The overall selection is perfect with games reasonable priced at their market value. About a while ago, I got a PS2 with a broken disc drive repaired here and was impressed with the overall value of the repair. Overall if you are looking for retro video games or for modern video games, Game Trader is one of the best spots to go to in Sacramento. read more

Without a doubt the best game shop in town. The best prices, best selection, and friendliest customer service. I myself worked at record stores/game shops in my younger days and I have to say this place is ran far better than any place I have experienced. I have also visited other stores in town recently as I am getting back into gaming and I never get the same awesome vibe I get from Game Trader. Other shops either overcharge or they make you feel like you are intruding on their space. Here you get what your looking for, have a cool conversation about games and then double check the receipt when you get home cause the prices are too good! read more

Always have all necessities for lower prices than GameStop will definitely be back besides its close and fairly priced

Yo! This shop rocks. I took my kiddos last weekend to get some Switch games. This store is crazy packed with games in every format. New and used. Plus gaming systems, accessories, collectibles and more. And the owner was super helpful. I think he said they've been in business for 26 years and 20 at this location. That says everything you need to know. Reputable, knowledgeable, trustworthy...this shop is the epitome of game stores in Sac. read more

The good: Great selection of games and systems. The bad: No prices on games, they look them up on price charting when you inquire about the price, which means it could change daily. An absolute deal breaker for collectors. Whatever you pay for something, mark it up and put a price on it. Too bad too, this place could be awesome. read more

Ben and Jessie know their stuff and their prices are very reasonable! I love coming here and just browsing around! I definitely recommend checking them out if you are in the area! read more

Great service and really fair prices have been going there for years have always been treated with respect you won't regret checking them out read more

I came here to get a game for my grandson and they were super rude ! The prices are overpriced and the young man that's working kept giving me attitude whenever I asked a question. He also would not stop walking in front of me without saying excuse me . DO NOT BUY FROM HERE !!!! read more

always great prices and good customer service. i won't go anywhere else for my gaming needs.

Go to this video game shop! Really kind and helpful staff who know a lot about video games. They know about current trends, historical patterns in game design and the industry, and just good recs for fun games for a variety of consoles. Plus, they have a ton of games! Game Trader is a great video game shop read more

This was a really nice store for retro video games. I was on the hunt for some PS2 games and was in the area so decided to check this place out. I've missed going to look at video games for my collection. It was easy to get to and parking was fine. They had a large collection of PS2, PS3, PS4, and Xbox games. I was also pleased to see that they had some classic NES and SNES games. Nothing I wanted but still nice to see. They also had a small selection of PS1 games. Prices were comparable to prices online on the second hand market. I also saw that they had some game consoles for sale as well. I recommend checking out this shop if you're a video game collector. They just might have something you were looking for. It was nice to just browse older games. read more

My Xbox One was malfunctioning, so I brought it into the shop... Within moments of putting the console through function tests, they were able to tell me what was wrong with it, how much it would be (very reasonable) and when it would be ready (3-4 days). 1.5 days later they told me it was ready for pickup. I will use them again. Very knowledgeable and polite. Great business. read more

This place had a great selection! I'm always looking for Sega Cd, Saturn, genesis, and most places have almost nothing. But here, I walked away with two complete rare genesis games, one super rare loose game, a Seca cd game, and a common ps4 title, all at sub-ebay prices. But really what's nice is the vibe. People were playing smash, the shop manager was casual but easy to get hold of and talk to, and when I wanted to get a new case for a ps4 game he just swapped it for me no charge. Also saw great selections for gamecube, original xbox, Ps2, etc, with no need to wade through tons of sports games. There were even some turbografx titles - banged up, but they were there. Whoever wrote those old negative reviews must have had a grudge, because I just went to ever game shop within 20 miles and this was far and away the best. Don't miss it! read more

I needed to repurchase a PS3 and this store had the best prices! Benny was helpful and there are a lot of gems in this place!

Large inventory, helpful employees, easy parking, right off freeway 99. Good small business and friendly customer service.

My grandson had his ps4 service there due that it wasn't turning on. We had left it there until they called us to pick it up . They fix it n ask if my grandson drop the ps4 in which he did n not tell anyone. There cost of the repair was reasonable price that I could handle $35. Thanks game trader for fixing it. read more

Yeah the guy he gave us a broken game gives a PlayStation 2 game is broken plugged in yelling at us and we're never going back over there I think you guys should never ever go to that place read more

I wanted to sell 3 games the guy gave me $20 and said to buy a game from there thats not what i wanted to do. Whats the point of selling my games if he was gonna keep the money and the three games either way i thought the point of selling my games is so i can get cash and not have to buy a game from there. In that case thats like trading my games for a different game. If i wanted to trade the games i would've done that . No my idea was to go in there and sell the games. Not get cash buy a game and him keeping the money and the games i went in to sell read more

I have had my items in to be repaired and come back damaged. Examples like clips broken or scratches and cracks. Owner also does not update prices and will not honor labeled prices. read more

A good store for retro and current games and video game consoles. PS1, PS2, SNES, Sega, N64 games and DVDs and more. Some of the classic and rare games are priced a bit too high. I was just stoked to find old classic PS1 and SNES games. read more

Game Trader - PS one games I scored here - Electronics Repair Near Me - Sacramento, California

Given the reviews are very dated, here you go: A few weeks ago, we were directed to this place after venturing into a pawn shop further up on Fruitridge we happened to check out. Once inside of Game Trader, they had lots and lots of movies, games, consoles, and accessories. You know those proprietary cables you cant seem to find anywhere? Game Trader has them majority of the time. You know that one game you cant seem to find at any of the major big box stores? Well game trader has it majority of the time. I've gotten 4 games since finding this place and they are in great condition. The staff is friendly. The owners are pretty knowledgable. Mind you they wont know as much as you fanboy gals and guys, but they know quite a bit from all generations of consoles and games. This little hidden gems is worth the venture. Do yourself a favor and check it out. What they lack in flashiness that the big box stores have, they completely make up for in customer service and availability. Cheers! read more

I been coming to this game trader for over 4 years and I buy a hard drive last week and go on vacation and come back yesterday and put it in my PS4 download the system software and then I try playing Cold War gta and they would freeze on me everything minute I come in today and talk with Ben the guy that sold it to me and it comes and brings up some guarantee shit that he never told me he said I broke it without even checking it I been fixing console systems for over 2 years and then he says I can't do nothing homie you sold it to me and I check online and a one terrorbyte harddrive cost 54 and he sold me a 500gb for 40 and it was USED and he never told me I will never be coming to this place ever again. read more

Didn't really care for this place. The people working didn't seem very friendly and were more interested in looking at their phones than helping customers. Also most of their retro games (the reason I was there) weren't priced. Instead when I asked about them the guy said he would "look them up" if I had questions about prices on anything. Really hate that and people who do this always overprice with a quick glance to ebay. read more

Very nice store. I went there today to sell some games I wasn't playing anymore. They were very kind and I was happy with what they gave me for the games. Also it is a very clean store. I can't wait to go back and shop some more. read more

Pleasently suprised... I stopped into this location after the one on Daly Avenue closed a few months ago. I always had good experiences, so I figured I would try this one. I am glad that I did! I am a retro gamer first, and a modern gamer second, so was I ever excited to see a ton of NES, SNES, N64 and PS1 games. I talked to one of the owners, and he seemed to be very knowledgable and happy with his job. Nice guy. The store itself was well organized and clean. Also, I didnt get that corporate Gamestop feel where they try to upsell you and push preorders on stuff you dont want. Just a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I will definitly return soon. If I had the money, I would be a daily customer! 5 Stars. read more

bought a ps3 and got a blinking red light first month and they didn't want too replace or fix the problem even tho receipt says 60 day return never shopping their again read more

Game Trader - Great condition and working. - Electronics Repair Near Me - Sacramento, California

Passionate owner who excels in running an excellent gaming business and it's always a good experience when I visit. I was in the market for PSP games and they carry hundreds of titles for that console. Picked up like PSP15 games, and some PS3 games over the visits. Game Trader has thousands of titles, and you'll probably find something that you didn't even know you were craving to play again when you're there. They can fix any console, and the prices are comparable to those online, so shop local. Shout out to Keith, he's awesome! read more

Well I'd like to rate it based on customer service and inventory, but since I waited 20 mins past opening and still no one came, I can only give them 1 star for horrible punctuality. read more

Worst game place of my life and I thought GameStop was bad now they're all the same to me I cannot trust any more game places. Game Trader sold me a bogus Xbox that constantly has a red ring around it they didn't do anything about it I brought it in too many times and then they said there's nothing wrong with it they played me out of a lot of money they took advantage of me as a woman and lied I will never trust them again I wish I was warned you before I went into there and spend a lot of money now that I think about it I guess I was warned the name of the store tells the whole story about them they are Traders they are also evil backstabbing bastards I'm just going go to Walmart I guess read more

I called a few places about my malfunctioning 360. This place was the most affordable. Yes it is a little place, but these guys are honest, fast and fair. I returned a year later and thought my 360 was broke but it was just my Blur disc was dirty. They didn't take advantage of my naïveté. They cleaned my disc for free! I love this place! read more

I would recommend this place only if you want to purchase old games for your N64, SNES, etc. I think they have more selection of used old titles for every system and their customer service is actually decent. However, I recently bought two Ps2 games here and they were slow to load. I had misplaced my receipt but they were nice enough to help me look up my transaction. I exchanged them and received two discs that didn't even work. I would say that I wouldn't trust buying anything CD related here but my past purchasing history with them was pretty satisfactory with other cartridge type games. A word of warning...the restocking fee here is 40 percent for used games o.o read more

Very well here i go again to the people that don't know about video games. I am veteran gamer with every video game system under my belt this place is over priced. They will not give you a fair trade-in value on your games or accessories i was only given about 1/5 of what my accessories where worth. on your trade-in u want at least 1/3 to 2/4 depending on replay and availability to replacement cost they also told me that I would have my game by a date and I did not receive it for another 2 days therefore making me feel uneasy about them having my money and my trust so i will never use this store again there is my new review if this gets flagged I'll be calling yelp it falls in all the guidelines thanks have a good day and i do not want to be contacted by the store manager again or his friends writing tips and reviews read more

Went here to get a RCA cable for ps3 pretty decent price! The service was great he was really helpful! If I didn't call I don't think I would ever come here because of the location but after all small but great service. read more

My fiancée is a Pokémon fan, so I decided to see if I could find some of the old Gameboy/Advance/DS games around town, and maybe a DS or two. I went here first, as it was closest to me, and was surprised to find a number of the games on my "list" and a couple DS systems in good shape (one even being a special-edition Pokémon version). I made a note of the prices and checked out six other places between Elk Grove and Roseville. Only one other place had anything I was looking for, and I ended up coming back here for their better selection and prices. They'll also replace the in-cartridge game battery for free if it ends up being depleted. $7 if you bring in an outside cartridge for a new battery. Had to take off a star because of weird billing issues (limit on amount that can be put on a credit card, cash refunds instead of crediting the original card, overall uncertainty on how to process a sale), and because two of the games I bought were defective. They provided a refund, but it required another trip because these weren't checked. read more

I only come to trade DVDs. And I always find some for my collection at slightly fair prices. The store is very small though.
