Weirdest most misfit ppl working at these GameStop in sac. They sold out of 151 today in 30 mins so that's great. Asked to look at a sports mega box and she would t let me hold it. I'm so pumped to visit this store as they sell a lot of brand new and pre-owned video games. I just bought an Xbox 360 and we decided not to get the Kinect sensor at Best buy since it costs $99. We called the store and they are out of stock but they have refurbished Kinect Sensor for only $25 which was originally priced at $70. Good as new! Saving $74 is a TOTAL SCORE! The store is clean and organized. They have a small corner with different game consoles to try on. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We mentioned that we are first time buyers and I love how energetic and convincing they are in telling what a great experience they had in video games. They have a lot of mini figures too. Overall it was a nice experience and we will probably go back here for video games. read more

I bought the last new copy of a game here in GameStop. I was not aware that GameStop had to seal the game box so I left the store with an unsealed new game. A couple hours later, I decided that I really didn't want the game after all and I went to my local GameStop for an exchange. However, this GameStop could not take my game because it's not sealed. Therefore, they can only take it in as a used game and it's not even half the price I originally paid for it as new. This is incredibly annoying. I have to come back to Arden Mall's GameStop to resolve this problem all because someone could not do his job correctly. I don't live anywhere in Sac and I just might pawn this game because the traffic and the GameStop of Arden Mall are all nuisances that I don't want to deal with. My experience here has solidified my decision to ensure that I buy my games elsewhere. read more

Absolutely terrible. I will never come back here again. I've been to this location several times and it always takes at least 20 minutes before anyone will even talk to you. They spend all their time hiding out in the back or bullshitting with other people. Not once was I ever even acknowledged when standing in line or trying to get someone's attention. This location is amazing. I came in to buy an SNES Classic, they were getting 12 shipments and I was number nine in line. Not only did I get my console, the waiting experience was very pleasant. Ben and the other employee were entertaining to talk with and were really helpful. I'm not an avid gamer, but I love old Nintendo games. I'm glad I chose to purchase mine here. Update to a previous review. Without going into huge detail, I pre-ordered a game, the store did not have beta codes and had no idea what I was talking about (as part of the promotion with that particular pre-order) they informed me when they got details they would let me know. A few days later, I called to find out if they knew anything, the manager told me they had beta codes on the way, he'd call or email me when they came in. A week later, nothing, so I called and an associate tells me they got in the codes and gave them all out. I was mad. As someone who pre-ordered the morning of the release and was literally one of the first people to do so (showed up at store opening the day of the release), I was more than slightly upset that they completely fumbled the ball, and then basically just said well sorry we'll email the company. In spite of the fact that I work next door, I will not ever return to this GameStop, which is shame too because they are so convenient and I do spend a lot of money there. read more

This Game Stop is OK, but I do have a gripe. Some of the sales dudes are a little pushy. The membership they try to sell everyone is a rip off (These guys get a cut so they REALLY push it). Basically you pay $15 which allows you to buy 2 games, and get the 3rd for "free". But you're already paying that initial $15 for the "membership" it's just marketing, to get more money from suckers, I mean customers. And when you sign up and go through the email process, you fill out a WORLD of information, it's all demographics. You want a good deal on games? Hit Craigslist or trade with a buddy. I hate to slam anywhere with 1-star, but I felt dirty and used after leaving this place. Every time I go in here I see little kids handing over all their allowance to BS memberships and overpriced games and controllers. LAME. Ok so I wanted to buy a new PS4 . And my duagther said this game stop was good. Yesterday the PS4 went on sale and Thursday theres another sale. I went in and asked the young man working there (Hunter w/blue hair) And at first he told me "no they will be going on sale" and I proceeded to inform him that that actually the sale started yesterday. He looked it up a wow I was right. Then I asked him if they had alot of them? And he told me "That's all relative thus time of year" Oki.k so Thursday tell him the Thursday sale is spend 150 bucks and get a 50 doller gamestop card. "Ahhh ok" he said lol wow .his excuse was that he hadn't been to work in 3 days! It's not like it the beginning the xmas shopping season and black Friday. i love me some video games! a game stop is pretty basic. you walk in knowing the prices and what they generally have to offer. but i came in around 815 on random impulse deciding i wanted to splurge and buy some kind of rock band/guitar hero device. the staff was extremely helpful and chatted it up with me to help me find exactly what i wanted. and when they didnt have it, they called the other game stop and had them hold it for me while i drove over there. they even kept the store open for me a few minutes after while i went on a video game spending rampage. love it. read more

I'm going to be honest.... I never go into these stores. I pull up park let my boys go in pick a game and when they decide I give them money they pay , we leave . Well , today I decided to go in . I don't know why but I'm super happy I did . The customer service here is absolutely wonderful . This employee went beyond to help me. Showed me a website I can look to check game ratings (my boys aren't allowed to play M rated games), super knowledgeable and very kind . He found a way to take his time with each cx , even little kids who just wanted to ask questions and the store was pretty busy! He actually seemed like he enjoyed working for the company . This guy is awesome!! He made me want to take survey , hell he made me wanna buy that expensive ass gamestop card . I wish more people worked like this . I called in their today to ask them what games they have for the PS3 move and the rep told me too many to name and I completely understood. I went in on my lunch break to check it out, however it seemed that the ones with blue in the top right corner are for the move and the price tags are covering all of them. I asked for help and the employee was rude wouldnt help me just basically said you should still see a little piece of blue! All I wanted was for him to show me since there isn't very many games for Move anyway and although it wasn't busy at all he would'nt guess i'll just go to the one in Citrus Heights where the are always helpful. read more

Every time I come here the guys/ gals always treat everyone no matter male, female, ethnicity the same. They also recommend good games and warn against bad ones like it's second nature. It's like some jedi mind trick or something. I tell them what I like or hate and they recommend games I never heard of and most times they're right. Also, they are fair... we were in line waiting for about 10 minutes while a customers mom goes over the "content" and when I got to the front they gave me a $5 credit for the wait. Their employees are pretty helpful. My roommate bought an Xbox One bundle here for around ~$400, traded in games with no problem, and bought games as well. Put a game on hold online and when I went into the shop, the customer service was great. I was greeted as I walked in and the employee searched and found my missing on hold game really quickly.
