NINTENDO SWITCH 2 - release party Called this site launch party day (6/4), like 3:10 pm, and was told they had plenty of stock. Drove over FAST, and got in the line, which wasn't horribly long. But I did have to wait 2+ hours for my ticket to return to get the console. Plus I got a few free Redbulls lol. I have to say it wasn't as bad as it was expected. The girl at the counter, was super sweet and very helpful. To preface this, I did NOT have a preorder. I was raw doggin' this on a whim to get a switch. I knew nothing of how to actually handle this whole thing, and I've never done this before. I'm glad I got in line early to make this as seamless as possible. Additionally, the workers inside were fighting for their lives with dealing with the number of people they had, let alone the demand for this release. Fast forward to 9pm. The doors opened, and the workers had us come in as groups based on the numbers they yell out. I was in n out within 15 minutes of opening and I was number 45 & 46. I was super impressed with how prepared and efficient they were. I give them 5 stars because of this being such an easy experience, and they were very professional with the launch. Bad experience. For the Switch 2 release, the worker literally called me and told me to come in at 9pm and wait in line. When I arrive, I find out that I had to come in between 3pm-8pm to finalize my purchase, but I was never informed at all. When I told the cashier, he gave me an attitude and just told me to go wait in line like they never gave me the wrong information. This gamestop needs to train their workers better and acknowledge when they made a mistake. They wasted my time, lied to me, and didn't acknowledge their own mistakes. How about start by greeting your customers when they walk in. That's not hard. And off, when there is 2 employees on the floor, and 1 customer, and 1 walks in then the other "free" employee should be assisting customer #2... not sharing photos from his phone to employee #1 & his customer. Also when customer #2 ask a question regarding the product I was going to purchase, I was rudely ignored... as I walked out they all looked at me, not saying a word. But looking like I interrupted their conversation! I just left! I will NOT ever do busy with the location and maybe won't do business with Game stop in general! Beware of the guy who works everyday in this store. I bought a used video game (10+years old) with some extras for ~$200. I brought it back within hours the next day after it didn't work on any of my compatible televisions. He tried to switch it to another old game console. Then he didn't refund the amount I paid for this defective game console and cartridge. He called the police when I asked for the original receipt back at least 5 times, but he refused saying I have an attitude. Very strange because he knew he cheated me. I wasn't getting anywhere with his gaslighting behavior. This is a shady operation selling defective game consoles then not returning the original receipt and not advising that he deducted monies from the original payment when I returned everything within hours. Not refunding the money, and then calling the police, I just left This store is fraudulent and corrupt selling used games that don't' work and using deceptive practices to steal your money. read more

Okay, I'm not a gamer or really into games. This is my rating for GameStop in general and maybe the employees as well if there was a scam involved. My sister had gifted us a brand new game that was a duplicate of what we already had. We brought the game to return, and of course, GameStop only offered store credit on a GIFT CARD. We used the gift card and had a remaining balance. 7 months later I am trying to use the rest of the balance and it is all gone, $0.00 left, I was informed by customer service the card was used in February and that my balance of $130.00 had all been used.. I never had $130.00 on the card, ever. Triple checked the card number and it is correct. I also did not use my gift card in February either, so that's where it got "fishy." Either there's something wrong with GameStops gift cards or the store staff are scamming customers somehow (taking picture of the card number and pin and then giving us the card). Either GameStop needs to investigate this or figure their system out because I will never shop at GameStop again because they just took money from me. Please stay away from this company and their gift cards.. and maybe the employees too. Everyone seems a bit sketchy these days. Save your money and go shop at bigger stores that offer refund and not store credit that you'll be robbed of only! Store staff told me there's nothing they can do and to call customer service and customer service tells me to go back to the store. I'm just going in circles here. GameStop needs to do better.. and maybe hire better staff with more integrity if their staff are scamming the customers. read more

You even get to try out some of the games. Although I tried not to stray from my current addictions, I must say, they have a lot of interesting eye catchers. But right now, my main reasons to frequent this place is that it is convenient to access and they keep in stock, the game cards I crave. Will I lose myself in mindless games? F this gamestop... I pre ordered a copy of a game and couldn't pick it up the first 2 days after and guess what? Those idiots gave it away and there were no more copies. Wth is the point of pre ordering if you can't even get the copy that you PRE ORDERED? I had to wait 2 more weeks to get my copy. Even on midnight releases, there was this Caucasian or Hispanic girl who was completely 100% rude when talking to everyone. If you have an anouncement, just tell everybody in a normal calm manner. Don't yell orders at them assuming they're already going to piss you off. Go here when you have lots of time cause they take forever to get you in line... place sucks. Go to the one on meadowview. This location is not in the greatest location (especially during the holiday season) since they share a parking lot with several other stores and parking can get limited. Not to mention that there have been times their client base at this location have been less than stellar in their behavior. Customer service is hit and miss. Most of the staff get what the concept is. A few others not so much. However, my experiences have been more positive than negative to date. Although I have witnessed others not having as great an experience based on the way they were dressed and behaving, so maybe some training in how to deal with customers from all walks of life is in order. Selection at this location is decent and the main reason I come here on occasion when I am in the area. I have to say though I have moved most of my shopping to doing an online purchase and pick up in the local store option. It just seems more convenient and easier than perusing a store. read more

My son used a trade card that had 50 on it and used 70 dollars of his cash to buy 3 items, i told him to return 2 and just use his trade card because he didnt need to waste his money that he had been saving. The store told him he could not do that and gave him the return and sent him home with a new gift card and kept his $70.
