This is a pretty decent place, as far as GameStop goes. Convenient location, large availability of items, and staff who tend to be pretty knowledgeable about the products they sell. The phones often seem to go unattended, but from what I have seen the employees do their best with what they have. The prices are pretty standard, in line with what you would find at any other popularized game store. Trade in value is poor, and honestly I would not recommend that for anyone looking at new items. Aside from that, all is great. read more

These clowns told me I would have 30 days to return preowned games instead of 7 days if I bought their membership. So I did. Decided to sell my console so I went to return the games a couple weeks after buying them. Was told I could not return them after 7 days and they didn't bother to help me out further after hearing I got tricked into buying them membership. Complete scam of a company. Idk how the employees don't feel bad screwing customers. read more

Easy parking nearby. There were two employees, both very friendly and extremely helpful. They don't fail to greet you & ask what you're looking for. They direct you to whatever you need, and assure you to ask them if you have any questions. There were surprisingly a lot of people coming in, each of them were greeted politely, and they were out in a few quick minutes. The employees are very encouraging and make friendly conversation. One customer was in to buy something sold out, and the employee informed him of this and instead directed him to the nearest store with the items available. I thought this was an incredibly nice and helpful gesture. I couldn't find what I was looking for, but the customer service here is great. I'm sure to come back here, the location is convenient as well, located in the middle of the plaza. read more

This is now my local GameStop and it also happens to be the best location around. I was helped by Bradley today and he was extremely helpful! He asked what kind of games I liked to play and ended up suggesting a game that I am loving so far! Parking is pretty easy and they also have a great selection of games in stock. Went in the other day to get a remote for my PS4 and the staff was nice and helpful and helped my husband and I find what we were looking for. The store was clean but very cluttered it felt like sense the store is small and had a lot in it. Until recently I never stopped by a Gamestop to buy games. I'd pop in for a gift card or two but I can only recall looking for a game around Christmas and I had to go to the one in Rancho Cordova because it was the only store that carried an old Godzilla game my son wanted. Although the game was old and used, it still cost me around $35.00. Recently my kids gathered a bunch of games that they no longer wanted and asked me to take them to Gamestop to sell them and get stuff they wanted. When their games were priced... they decided they were better off keeping them instead of getting next to nothing for them. The day we went in they had a little sale going on used games and I thought it was pretty good so I got the kids a few games. Honestly though, I didn't think anything was cheap enough to run again and buy a used game that was slightly cheaper than new elsewhere. In fact I normally take them to another place where they have all the games they've wanted and sometimes have pretty good sales on top of throwing in some random gift. So to me... This place is only good if one of my children wants a game that isn't sold anywhere else because it is old but otherwise, we'll stick to buying new for a little more. Customer service the day I went in with my children was SUPERB! The guy that helped us out was polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. 5 stars to this guy! read more

Let me start off by saying I've been going here since it was funco land, but the last time I came in will be the last I don't like this employee miko or his (persona). Please leave your attitude at home, and this (persona) I don"t support business that shoves that in my face. this caused my experience to be horrible to the point that I will never return again, I will buy from other stores and online before I ever go to this gamestop again! And Please remember the customer is always right! Update 4/17 apparently that's not enough detail for Yelp so let me continue bashing gamestop because i dont appreciate being told there isnt enough detail so lets sweep your experiance under the rug... Their customer service was and is awful, i just want to buy a game not be offered warranty, or stupid point programs. I'm not a fan of their business model or mission statement, as well as their store layout. By the way its been over a couple years since this review and i still will not return there. Went in today to trade in Persona 5 and take advantage on the $39 deal for Horizon Zero Dawn. GameStop employees are generally really polite and helpful, but Lisa at this store is hands down one of the best employees I've ever encountered in any retail store (actually, any business). She spent extra time explaining to the customers in front of me who purchased an Xbox One system how to use it, what to expect when first connecting it (i.e., the millions of updates it'd download), etc. When it came to my turn, she seemed genuinely interested in my opinion of the games we talked about and also Horizon Zero Dawn. Restores my faith in humanity when you can tell that kindness is a real part of someone's personality. read more

She was so outgoing and bubbly. She made our experience very pleasant and I really felt like I was being helped by a friend. I love Gamestop and have always shopped at their stores for video games, but the two times I've been at this location, the employees have been absolutely disrespectful. The first time I came over I asked a question about an upcoming video game, and the employee scoffed at me for asking it, as if my lack of knowledge made me inferior to him. The second time, I stopped by to see if they had a copy of a video game that just came out that day, and they said they ran out of copies, saying they only carried pre-order copies. I get its a Gamestop employee's job to push pre-order sales as much as possible because a franchise lives and breathes by how many they sell, but that's not an excuse to belittle your customers for not doing going that direction and continuously remind them, like punishment, that they should've preordered instead. I had to pick up my copy at Best Buy, which had more than plenty, so Gamestop here could be pulling a "fabricated shortage" to push the pre-order mentality into their customers. I have worked in customer service for five years, so any place I go I always give employees the benefit of the doubt. There is an obvious superiority complex issue going on at this location. Avoid it at all costs. Go where the employees will respect you, like the one at Sunrise Mall or Lead Hill Boulevard. read more

I had to lower my rating based on the new hiring they've been doing. Especially this Chris character. I personally find other Chris's to be approachable and helpful but this guy just breaks the mold. He never smiles, has no opinion on games and has me wondering why he works at Gamestop. If Tracy and Lisa weren't so awesome maybe I wouldn't notice so much but I expect more from my favorite store. I am a parent of 2 boys that are becoming major gamers and these days I seem to know less and less about it. The selection at this Gamestop is the best I've found locally. Convenient and a little bit tucked away, but with a lot of other good shops around it. My favorite clerk is the vegetarian with the dark hair. I think he may have a gauge in his ear as well? Very knowledgeable and friendly and always makes time for you. My only bad experience was when I had a different clerk. I completely understand that the clerks are required to push preorders and upgraded power up subscriptions, but I had to tell the clerk four separate times during the transaction that I did not want to upgrade my subscription. Like I said, I know this is something they have to do, but I don't enjoy feeling so pressured and being told and told again within a half-minute period I should upgrade. read more

Bought a game for my son for his 13th birthday at the beginning of the month. Brought the game home and after installing it on my Xbox one my whole Xbox crashed. Had to end up doing a full factory reset and lost everything that was saved on the hard drive. Once I got my Xbox up and running I tried again (because I spent $65 on the game I wanted to make it work). Thankfully the Xbox didn't crash again but the game will not load. I get a black screen and then nothing. I tried the game on another Xbox just to be sure it wasn't my console and still won't load. Now I know that GameStops return policy states that they will not return opened games but I figured since it's was obviously defective there must be something they would be willing to do for me. So I brought the game back to the store and was basically told "Too Bad So Sad" they offered to exchange for another copy of the same game or I could sell it back to them as a used game & get 1/2 the money I spent on it back. Well I decided to go for the exchange because selling it back to them at 1/2 the cost was not acceptable. So I got home today and guess what?? New game doesn't work either!! So the morale of the story is DO NOT EVER BUY NEW GAMES FROM GAMESTOP they will sell defective crap and only way to find that out is to open the game and then you can't return it. It's a lovely scam they have going there and after this GameStop will never get any more of my money again. read more

All I really wanted to do at GameStop was preorder Street Fighter V to get beta access. Unfortunately had to go over there three times to get it because the first two times they couldn't figure out why I couldn't get my code. Then weeks later, I found out my best friend got his beta access code from another store and I'm chop liver! So I go to the store, ready to activate my roast hand! But instead I was cold chilly and didn't let my issue bother me. When I stopped by last night (12/11), I explained that I had been there twice and that my buddy had the code too from this week. So at this point I was either gonna get my code or a very lame excuse. And believe me, I was seriously prepared to tell you how terrible my experience was! But that didn't happen at all. Instead I got the access code and decided to buy a PS4 just as well. Service recovery is a big deal in my book and if someone can help with resolving an issue I'll definitely come back. Very grateful for the help - really solid staff. read more
