My PS3 console had worn out, and I went to GameStop to buy a replacement. I know these are not available new, but I figured buying one from a national retailer would mean that the store had checked it over or even refurbished it. Nothing I was told during the purchase disabused me of that notion. But when the console died on me less than three months later, the people at he same store told me that it was well past the SEVEN DAY trial period and since I had not bought a warranty, there was nothing they could or would do for me. I questioned them and found out that the console had probably been a trade-in and they had seen it work when they fired it up and figured that was good enough to sell it for $160 to a chump like me. I'm a bit shocked by the 4.5-rating that this store has at the moment. Then again most of the reviews were written in 2013 or 2016 and the store may have been better back then. I've been shopping at this GameStop since June of 2017 and I can only say that my experiences have gone from good to bad and finally to horrible. There is a long list of reasons why I won't be coming to this location in the future. 1) The wait times are horrible. My wife and I have seen people leave the line and give up trying to buy something while waiting to get an associate to help them. I personally have been stuck waiting for 45-minutes in the past. 2) They never have anything! Seriously I have been told over and over again that either the game I want is out of stock or all the copies have been pre-ordered. I've always ended up going to Best Buy or Target and found copies the same day that GameStop claimed they were sold out of. At one point I did "reserve" a copy of a game online at this store. When I went to pick it up they had sold my copy and sent me to another store both wasting my time and gas! 3) There is 0-professionalism at this location. I can't tell you how many times I've been forced to listen to the employees argue about "what game is best" or joke about their mood all while ignoring the customer they are serving. I was recently buying a PS4 Pro at this location, a rather hefty investment and I wanted a warranty with the system. I asked numerous times all while being interrupted by the constant banter between the two clerks. Guess what? Yep he forgot my warranty and I didn't notice until after we had finished the transaction, he did up sell me on a Pro Membership so I could get free shipping on my order though. Listen, I could go on and on with more bullet points about why anyone should avoid this location. It may have once been a good place to buy games but those days are long gone. I'll be either sticking to the Mall location or just going to Best Buy or Target for my games from now on. read more

I was having issues with the website not properly accepting gift cards. I had $30 in gift cards and at checkout, it showed the $30 taken off the total but the grand total did not reflect that. Frustrated, I called the store to see if there was a known issue with the website. The gentleman that answered the phone was extremely condescending from the very beginning of the conversation. He assumed that it was user error. He then began to explain that they could do the transaction at the store, but due to COVID-19, there are restrictions. He began his explanation as if he was talking to a 5 year old. I was perfectly polite and pleasant for the duration of the call. I don't understand why he felt the need to be so patronizing. The store manager was not very professional. She was nice and all but seemed more interested in flirting with the men that came in and her male employees than helping me with questions i had. Maybe i would have gotten more help if i was a more attractive female or maybe if i was just a male period. Also after the men she was flirting with had left she then proceeded to talk about how she "hates when guys are creepers towards her" If you are managing a store, focus on the customers and their needs. Not flirting with customers and employees and then when they leave complain about the attention you were asking for? Also, maybe dressing professionally and not in skin tight clothing that shows off every crevasse you have. I'm all for dressing however you want, but if you are at work in a place where kids come, maybe appropriate clothing should be in order. read more

As far game shops in town goes this place has a stranglehold as there are no other shops unless you venture out to Bremerton or Olympia. The shop itself has a solid collection of used games with some titles being cheaper the Game Freaks. read more
