Where do they find these employees? I shutter to find out! We searched everywhere for a steering wheel for Xbox. I mean everywhere! Finally I found one in a far off store. We drove out and got it... however the employees were just dripping with apathy. I was interrupting their time with their computer gaming buddies that were in the store. I was spending 200 bucks! I drove about 45 mins to find it... but it was a bother that we were there. In the end the steering wheel sucked! My sons could not use it... it jumped all over and would not stay still. It was really hard for me to give Game Stop 3 stars. If I was to go on first impressions, I would have given the place 4 stars maybe 4 1/2; however, recent visits to the establishment left me with a bad taste in my mouth (or thumbs, considering the place sells video games.) Game Stop is an excellent establishment to buy video games in all of the various formats that are available. One of the best qualities about Game Stop is the fact that they sell used games, which an individual can of course purchase for a lower price. So here is where I come to the point in my review where things become sour. If you are interested in selling a game to this place, think twice. I brought in 5 games, 2 of which just came out last year, and they offered me $13 for all five games. This really bothered me because of the fact that they turn around and each of my five games for $20-$30 a piece. That is almost a 1000% mark up!?!? Not even Pawn Shops will give someone that kind of bogus offer. I think that this is going to do nothing but hurt their business in the long run, because of the fact that you could take your used games to Blockbuster and get triple the amount Game Stop offers. MONEY STOLEN BY GAMESTOP (DO NOT SHOP HERE) Unfortunately, despite having previously had positive experiences in this GameStop, none of that matters because of the fact that my money was STOLEN by this GameStop, after they INTENTIONALLY LIED to me about a product. Here's how it went down. I wanted a certain item that was sold out on Amazon, so I went to this GameStop to see if they had it in stock. While they did not have it in-store, they said that they could order it from their warehouse to my house. The associate told me that my package would ship within 2 business days, and be delivered to my house within a few days after that. Satisfied with this quote, I placed the order. However, once I got home and checked on the order on their site, I noticed that it said that there were exactly NONE of the item I ordered in stock, and they did not know when more would be on the way, meaning that the employee INTENTIONALLY MISREPRESENTED the item to make a sale. So, I immediately cancelled the order, mere hours after it was placed, thinking to myself that there would be no problem with my card being charged at all, since the transaction was still pending on my bank account, and transactions usually take a couple of days to get approved. But silly me! Of course they wouldn't not charge my account! Three whole days after the cancellation, I was very shocked to see the money for the order missing from my bank account. Naturally, I sent a very detailed support message to GameStop requesting for assistance with my order cancellation, which, to this very day, THREE WEEKS LATER, I have yet to receive a response to. As if that wasn't bad enough their website MISREPRESENTED my order total, leaving out tax and shipping that I had paid, making it EXPONENTIALLY more difficult to file a claim with my bank. Additionally, the reason I know that my money was INTENTIONALLY STOLEN was that, on their website, my order was shown as being made with a GIFT CARD, despite the purchase showing up directly on my bank account. This means that, when I cancelled the order, all of the money I put into the order went to that gift card, GIVING MY MONEY TO SOMEONE ELSE. As if that wasn't enough, the fact that the website showed the order as being made on a gift card (a blatant lie), made it even HARDER to file a claim with my bank. Weeks later, I'm only just finishing up dealing with this act of theivery through my bank, with absolutely ZERO help from GameStop's end. Now, even if this never happened, there would still be NO REASON FOR ANYONE TO GO TO GAMESTOP. Their games are more expensive than Amazon's. There are larger, better stores, such as Best Buy, which allow customers to physically browse games, consoles, and accessories while also providing a larger selection, better demos (such as VR), and better support/accountability. Almost any online forum or quick Google search will provide better information and recommendations than the vast majority of their employees. You can get exponentially more money from selling used games, consoles, and accessories online or probably even through a local garage sale. This must've been what government-run butcher shops were like in the Soviet Union. You go there because you have to, not because you want to. GS already has something of hammer-lock on game sales (especially with special unlocks) and then you add in an East Cobb locale floating in disposable cash from tweens and teens -- does not exactly empower the consumer. Particularly the entire used game/console biz. Deck is really stacked against you in terms of returns, warranties, prices, and "store policy." One sketchy move I overheard one day is the claim that even if you buy a used console in the store, you have really "ordered it from the Internet" so some sort of mysterious restocking must take place. Just swapping a busted unit for a working one then becomes some lengthy dance of phone calls and terminal-fu. Radio Shack should get out of the cell phone biz and get into games. These guys badly need the competition. read more

So UPDATE: GAMESTOP online still sucks and still have me major issues however GAMESTOP store in Cumberland Mall is Awesome! The manager there called around, saw that online was not gonna her the issue fixed and issues me the game at the Black Friday price! Great Customer Service!!!! I would not recommend purchasing any gaming systems or games from this business. I made large purchase including this weekend. I am not a "gamer", I don't know about gaming loyalty programs etc, nothing was offered to me and I found out later that I should've signed up for their rewards program to start earning rewards for my son. The only thing that was offered to me was an extended warranty. Needless to say I was disappointed and went back today to open one (because you can't do it online UNLESS YOU BUY SOMETHING) and was told they will NOT apply the almost $400 purchase I made 2 days ago. VERY POOR customer experience. The girl at the store pretty much didn't care, didn't care that no one promoted the program and could care less about my purchase. NEVER again! Go to Best Buy, Go to Target, Go anywhere but Gamestop because they could really give a crap about you as a new customer and your potential to continue making $$$ purchases. read more

Slow service. Unhelpful employees. Really bad staff. By far the worst game shop I've ever been to.

Let me be clear, I hate gamestop, they have a bunch of shady practices that I heavily disagree with and do not care for them as a company. They were cool back when I was growing up and they were small but now with money and power they've become a monstrous blob of pre order culture. The Staff at this store however, are the ONLY reason I shop here... that and its like a 15 minute drive from my house. The manager Is wonderful, I've known her for a long time and I wish her the best. The staff, new and old are likeable and funny. They're quick and extremely helpful, this particular shop I love and will be coming back for my next gaming console. read more

I've been coming to this location since it was an EB Games location. (Remember those?) And I've been to countless other Gamestops as well. This Gamestop is my favorite one for several reasons. But most notably, it's about the people that work there. Everyone there has always been very down-to-Earth and personable to the point that I don't feel like they're just being nice for the business, but they're nice genuinely. They're not the closest branch to me, but they're definitely worth the trip. They've gotta be good for me to write my first review on Yelp. Trust me on this one... read more

We went to Game Stop to buy a used Wii for our daughter. Turns out the price difference was only $20 for the new one and it came with games so we opted for that option. When my husband went to install it, he didn't think twice about how the box had been packed, or the scratches..... However, the console didn't work at all, so we went to the store to return it. They have a 30 day return policy and we were about 3 weeks in. The person working at the store refused to return it!! We raised some h**l and got our money back. We were obviously sold a used machine and the fact that they weren't going to honor their return policy is a red flag to stay clear of this business. Dodgey. read more
