Was very disappointed with this GameStop. Yesterday May 11, 2023 was the nighttime release of Zelda tears of the kingdom. Called several times and was told that I would need to be there between 9 PM and 10 PM to receive my copy. What they did not inform people was that if you were not there by 8:45 to check in you could not get your game. Luckily I showed up early but I saw a lot of very disappointing customers that were not able to get their copies because of this and were turned away. The store definitely needs to improve their communication with customers. read more

Prior to today, I don't remember the last time I went into a GameStop, but as I wanted to get a physical copy of the new Resident Evil 4 game as a present for a friend, I walked into this location to see if they had one. Sure enough, they had a copy, and the price sticker on the game said "New - $39.99". Perfect. Took it up to the register, and they rang it up for $59.99 (+tax). I pointed out that the price tag said $39.99, so the cashier called over who I assume was a manager. First the manager started off with some obviously bullshit claim about some nefarious "person" who has been peeling off their stickers (what?), then claimed that it was an old price, then started looking online to see if they could "do an online price match". Then they said that the only way to match the online price ($49.99, which STILL wasn't the same as the marked price IN THE STORE) would be if I had some Pro subscription garbage. I walked out. Went in this gamestop for a DoorDash order. So while standing and waiting for the nice girl to bring out the order I asked the bald dude sitting at the front counter eating chips and drinking Gatorade if they knew when they would be getting their next shipment of Xbox series X's that would only be available to pro members. Without looking at me or up from his computer he was playing on he said " no we don't have any and we won't know until 24 hours before they drop". I only went in for a gift card and the customer service was excellent. He asked if there was anything I needed help with and if I needed to reserve any games coming out. They have really great prices on all games and units. And they have basically any and all games and units that are recent models. Even great prices online too. I probably will be going back to buy a Wii. I would definitely use this GameStop location in the future. Also it wasn't super busy especially for a Saturday. Visited the store today and they were completely out of stock of the PS4 controller. They blamed Covid for Sony not making PS4 controllers. This sounded like an excuse cough cough. The only controller they had in the store was a refurbished one for $60 and they would not let me examine it until after I paid for it. She said this was because other people have stolen from the store. The fact that she can't trust me leads me to believe that I cannot trust her. I called to ask about a pre ordered game which releases today and while voicing my curiosity I was rudely cutoff being told that "she understood and she was doing her job". I've been here a lot in the past few years. A majority of the new games I buy comes from here (the only one on PS4 that I haven't purchased from here was the Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD), and usually have an enjoyable conversation with the cashiers during the transactions. Everything is fairly easy to find and the staff has always been a great help to me when I need to find something. If they don't carry it, then they'll usually recommend another store to go to if they know of one in the area. I highly recommend this store to everyone who's looking to pick up a new game quick. Check on the Gamestop website beforehand as well to see if the game is in stock, it's usually fairly accurate and can make a trip much quicker if that's what you would prefer. read more

Last night (Christmas Eve Eve) I called Game Stop at 10:56pm and a guy named Reed answered. I explained to him that the pre-owned DSi I had just purchased for my step daughter suddenly stopped working. The reason this was such a HUGE deal was because we purchased it as a Christmas gift (which we celebrate on December 24th) and she was supposed to unwrap it in the morning. I asked Reed what time they close and he said 11:00pm. I told him I was at least 20 minutes away. Reed said it was no problem at that he would wait there for me and make sure we exchanged the DSi for one that worked properly. And that is what he did. I got there at about 11:20 and he exchanged the DSi for one that works great! So thank you Reed :) You really helped make Morgans Christmas a wonderful one!! Merry Christmas!!!! read more

Took my son in today to purchase an Xbox remote and game with his Christmas money. First, we picked a game advertised as new on the shelf. When we went to purchase, the lady tried to sneakily put the game in the case super quick so I took it out to check it and it was covered in scratches. I said "this isn't new there are scratches all over it" to which she replied, "we recondition the games to make them new" to which I replied, "this isn't new or reconditioned and you are advertising as new". So I told my son to go grab used case because if I'm purchasing used I will pay the used. So THEN she asked my son if he wanted his pennies back which of course he did (he's 9) nd she reluctantly gave them to him. So then she had to return the game to get it at the used price, so owed me $1.09 but just gave me $1 back. At that point I didn't want to argue any longer and hold up the line so left. All in all, I felt like this was not an honest business. So, one star for you, Game Stop on Galaxy. Your customer service and checkout practices were terrible today. Will not return. read more

I recently visited this GameStop in search of a particular action figure. Prior to driving up to Lacey from Tacoma, I had initially called around to see which store had the figure in stock. Voila! I found that Lacey had it in stock. So, I get to gamestop and I ask one of the employees if they had the figure and he said yes and that he was going to check the back because there wasn't any sign of the action figure in the front. I kid you not 40 mins went by and none of the employees updated me on anything. So, I took the initiative and looked through all the small places where someone could've hid it and I couldn't find it. Another 10 mins go by and one employee who was a short female with black hair and glasses had the figure. I was excited, but not once did she tell me why she couldn't sell it to me. She just told her other employer that it's on hold. So, as the "customer" I knew it was on hold but I had to find out by myself because the gentlemen that initially helped me didn't fill me in on anything. Long story short they couldn't sell me the figure until the 24 hr period expired, which was an hour from the time I arrived there. That was fair, so I left and came back an hour later as instructed by the gentleman, but the lady with the glasses was being persistent about not selling the figure to me by asking the gentlemen if the paper had the correct date and time and he said yeah it's correct, but she insisted on double checking if not proof reading this document. Maybe they were having a bad day, but still if a customer has to go around the entire store to look for an item that is in inventory according to the database, then maybe they're not doing their job correctly. read more

I lived in the area for a year and I, sadly, only used this place the last 3 months I was there. After leaving Best Buy after several disappointments I went here. I turned in a TON of old consoles and games to the point of laughter and the red headed guy here had no problem whatsoever. After taking my $500 worth of store credit and frolicking through the store I continued to spend a bunch of cash here. I was even there for the Diablo 3 midnight release and they handled it like pros. The guys who work here are knowledgeable, friendly, and made you want to go back. Yes, I am a geek. read more

Most of the employees that I've dealt with here are awful. They will make up answers to your questions rather than admit to not knowing something or having to look it up. If you ask to check the quality of a used item before purchasing it, they will act incredibly put out and make it difficult for you to actually do so. As long as the games work, they have no standards for the quality of the used games they sell. An almost flawless copy in the orignal case w/ manuals will cost you the same as one scratched to hell with the case covered in bits of old food. Apparently putting it in a blank case or wiping it down it too much to ask. I'm giving them two stars for the one or two employees that didn't suck, although I had very limited interaction with them. My experience with GameStops in general has been pretty hit-or-miss - some stores are great and others (like this one) make me wish I wasn't a part of the human race. I guess there is something about being a gamer that makes it more likely to also be a huge douche. read more

It seems like game stops don't check used rechargeable batteries for controllers when people bring them in. I bought a Xbox 360 rechargeable battery and it was completely dead couldn't even charge it with my 3 chargers. Went to EB games in the mall and the one I got there didn't work either. Eventually Drove all the way up to Tacoma for a battery and that one worked perfectly. read more

My experience with this store hasn't been too bad in the past. However, the employees are always unknowledgable and the store is always dusty looking . I was told I was getting a wireless headset I made it home and found that it's wired and less then an hour or so I brought it back to the store. Clearly before anything was explained the manager "Alexander" had every intent of telling me no before explaining this situation or looking for the invoice. He had an attitude with me the whole time to the point where instead of exchanging it and keeping the store with some sort of profits I asked for my money back so that I could go buy it at Walmart because sadly the employees in Walmart are more knowledgeable about their electronic products and services. I have gone to the GameStop in Centralia Washington and always had a great experience and when I went into this store I expected a consistent level of service and to say the least it did not measure up. I called yesterday to ask about the Super NES Classic and the store associate on the phone told me that they will most likely not get them. The associate told me that they do not treat this location like the others and that he thinks they will not get them in at all. In addition, I called today and the associate told me that they did not get the shipment yet but might come in tonight. I showed up tonight and asked and the associate and he said they do not expect to get any, I asked my boyfriend about it and the other store associate who was listening to my conversation said they were in route but not in yet. I am getting mixed information and I have store associates talking down to me and about the store they work for. This place is a mess! read more

I haven't been to this gamestop in a while and when i went in they had a whole new staff which was kind of a bummer to not see any familiar faces. However, I was there looking at pop figures and making sure to put them back nicely because it looked like someone had just organized the shelf. I noticed this tall woman with red hair and braces just giving me a death stare as i was looking at them which made me feel uncomfortable so i went to look at the games. The game i was looking for wasn't on the shelf so i walked up to the counter to ask and was quickly greeted with annoyance and hostility by the same red headed woman saying "ma'am can you get in line behind everyone else that is waiting? Thanks.." I stated i just had a quick question and she rolled her eyes and said "lets hear it" I started asking about the game and she cut me off mid question after mentioning the game and rudely said "Nope, should have preordered it" I then got irritated and asked to speak to the manager and guess what? SHE IS THE STORE MANAGER! Being in management myself i have NEVER treated anyone like that, ESPECIALLY potential customers! Just pure blatant bitchy tone and disrespect towards customers. I feel bad for her employees if that is any insight on how she treats them. Whoever put her in charge of that store is either really stupid or doesn't know the first thing about good customer service and shouldn't be making decisions on who is fit to run a store based around customer service. this has always been my favorite store for video games and video game accessories. the store is always helpful and friendly and will usually go the extra mile for its customers.
