Whether browsing the shelves with a cup of coffee or looking for a new journal, a gift to give, a knick knack or two, and lots and lots of books, it's a great place to hang. Makes it slightly hard to find them at times though, but, they are always helpful and knowledgeable! The cafe always has great workers as well! Love the value deals like buy one get one half off or free. My favorite time to go! The store was lively and well staffed. Women's clothing seemed improved in the overall looks but some Apparel on their mannequins were hideous. Cloths I would never want to see on anyone I liked that is. Men's clothing was an ok look but all of the fabrics seemed to be recycled polyester which I don't personally care to have on my skin. That being did I discover the sun glasses rack in the back and bought a couple of pairs after trying on the entire rack. Halloween section in the back was well thought out and festive. I came for and indoor/ outdoor rug and found one I liked on clearance. There were only three choices so I got lucky. The store was clean, organized and well staffed. Two last notes: I love the new plastic carts. They don't bump into and damage shelving merchandise, have a place to cart children, roll well, just the right size and have two cup holders and a large tray for cell phones and personal items right up front. #1 perfect carts. Separate Starbucks coffee is located in the front of the store. They have a busy but efficient check out. Handicapped access at the front of the store is still not to code and ramps are far away and steep. Parking lot is cracked and broken with very little attention to landscape with an ugly in my opinion entry and exterior presence. The whole thing looks like a where house. I'm sure that's a corporate decision. But I'd love it if they would consider public image. Otherwise excellent in comparison to other target stores around the country. * Former target employee* Have fun shopping.

Something simple, but so important. I do find myself comparing prices with other stores because their prices can be a little high. But they also have some great deals, which makes it worth the stop. They seem to be understaffed, but the staff they have has always been pleasant in my experience. Their being understaffed can be particularly frustrating when there's only one or two registers open and the line at the self checkout is wrapped down the aisle. But that's a higher level issue. The only downside to this location is its proximity to Cornell and Ithaca colleges. It can create a lot of chaos within the store, especially around move-in days or other major college events. The college kids also tend to leave things messy behind themselves, and I can tell it's hard for the staff to keep up with straightening things up at times. I appreciate the staffs efforts, and it is far from their fault, but it can make it frustrating as a shopper.

Needless to say, my husband left the 3 pairs of shoes he was going to buy and we left. So possibly 5 sales lost but definitely 3! I was absolutely shocked as I wanted to look at some of those items and there is nothing here. Dick's sporting goods in godforsaken Binghamton has more water activity items than REI. I truly hope this is a temporary issue they will rectify. Huge disappointment.
