Not sure why this place has low reviews, but my experience was awesome. Robbie helped us out on a Tuesday afternoon and educated us on the best system for our family needs. He didn't try to upsell us and took the time to tell us the differences. When multiple customers came in, he didn't rush us and greeted each of the customers that were waiting their turn. I went there today with my boyfriend. We literally waited 15-20 mins in line as if we had all day. The lady was literally freaking explaining the whole store policy to a customer as the line was getting longer. There were TWO other employees just standing around like fools doing nothing with another register available but wouldn't wait on anybody and ASSUMED everybody was there for trade in. No, obviously if you asked you'd know we were purchasing. Finally, 20 mins later they decide to ask as we've told you several times it was not trade ins and you kept saying going to that line. Why have 3 employees when only one was working and the one who was working acted as if everybody else had all day while she explains the store policy to some man. Wasted my time seriously. read more

I've been going to this store for years and sadly seen many of my favorite employees never come back to the store for whatever reason. I was just in tonight, post work, and picked up a few items, saw that there was a specific Funko pop I'd not seen before, nor heard about as I was leaving that I knew a couple of my friends would want, so I called them when I left the store. They'd asked me to go back in, so I did. I spoke to the same person who'd processed my precious transaction about it, said it was a preorder, so I inquired if it was related to a game or if it was by itself. He then became snarky and acted like I should've known it wasn't related to a game and was exclusively just a Funko Pop preorder. I then inquired if it was able to be preordered, since there was only One begin the counter and was not sure if it was a store display only? Etc. He then decided that I didn't know what a "preorder" meant and was all "pre means before" and his coworker was chiming in like I didn't understand what was happening. I do understand that I may not alway purchase something every visit or only make inquiries into a certain time's price since I've found that this store has never seemed to have consistent price labeling... (The same person who decided I didn't know what Preordering meant, was also agitated when I asked if he would like me to put the two socks I'd price checked back where I found them, when normally they're more than happy to let or or atleast don't act like I've committed some faux pas.) read more

GameStop.com says you can return pre-owned hardware at any physical GameStop, "subject to manager approval". I wanted to return a pre-owned Game Cube the day after Christmas and the manager gave me a song and dance about how GameStop "wants" customers to return online items through UPS. I asked if they just "wanted" that or if it was a firm policy and he flat out refused to give me a straight answer and then said "I can't take that, if it hits my store...." and then stopped talking. Clearly cared more about inventory than customer service. Merry Christmas GameStop Prestige. Never coming back here. read more

Literally the worst GameStop I've ever set foot in nationwide. Not only were the employees rude when I asked to purchase a PS5 controller for Christmas as a gift. They refused to sell me one they had in stock because of some stupid pre-sell event. I even asked if I could preorder and pick up on event day but they refused. Thankfully, I could get them for the same price on Amazon just not in time for Christmas. So thanks, Grinch Stop. You've just lost my annual membership and all my future gaming business to Amazon. I wanted to take a second to drop a great review for my local GameStop. Where they have always been pretty good today was a particularly impressive day. The place was packed and the associate working, Bradley (373736), not only cleared everyone out quickly his knowledge was extensive on what I needed and on what I should be buying. Stopped in to buy a game for my husband and guy was completely unprofessional rude and unfriendly. If the guy hated his job so much he should try another profession. Guy was more interested in trying to impress the lady with the little kid versus the woman who was there with her husband. Even after I bought the game I had to go back in and ask why I was charged one price versus the member price? Guy told me my membership expired last year? Why did he not mention renewing it when I was checking out? Bottom line don't go in there expecting to be helped and do not bring your games in there to sell they try to offer you a fraction of what you paid for them! read more

Went in to purchase a game today and a lady working was able to help me but when I got home this evening I realized she had sold me a used game and I'm pissed b/c I didn't ask for a used game. I asked if they had Pokemon X and that is the game I was sold, but I did not ask for a used game b/c I did not want a used game - if I had any idea they were going to sell me a used game by default I would have never set foot in the store. Other stores that sell used games and new games ASK their customers first if they want the used game or if they want to pay full price for the new/unopened games. Shame on me for not paying more attention and assuming I would be sold a new game, but shame on the clerk for losing out on the sale of a full price game and on losing a customer forever. My experience going to this GameStop has been a roller coaster. Of course there are really friendly staff, but then you get the staff who are just kind of mean. I totally understand retail can suck, and sometimes customers ruin your day over something so small. But you can't treat the rest of the customers like that. There have also been times I have been given false information. For example a few days ago the new let's go pikachu/eevee games were released. 3 days before the release I called and asked if they're doing a midnight release for the games. I was told no. Sure enough that Thursday we got snow and my boyfriend received a phone call saying the midnight release for the game was cancelled because of the dangerous roads. What?? We both were told that there was no midnight release...we were fine with no midnight release, but the employee from 3 days before couldn't have possibly known that the release was going to be cancelled... Of course there are other small stories like this, where someone told me some information, but it was incorrect. Causing a mix up, and leaving us to feel embarrassed. We wouldn't argue with any of the employees, but we told them the information that was given to us. They either would ignore and stare blankly or just continue saying "yea we don't do that here" Other than the confusing employees or grumpy ones, the location is great. And there are definitely some really helpful people that work there, although I've noticed they don't stick around all that long. I think it's a good store and the location is convenient. I just wish there there was a little uniformity to the team. read more

Located in South Riding close to Rt 50, this place is very convenient if you live in any of the nearby homes. I pass by the store everyday and you can't beat the fact that it's right next to Giant -- buy a game, get groceries and head on home to play the latest game on the console of your choice. The store is clean and well organized. The staff are friendly and greet you when you enter the store. They have always answered my questions with a smile, and they never pressure you to buy unnecessary items. I like how one of the staff there looks up any game that I'm interested in, especially if its release date hasn't been disclosed. For example, I asked about Borderlands 2 for the Vita and he has a date of May 31st, 2014. I love getting "inside" info like that! Overall a good place to get your gaming fix on in the suburbs. read more

Depends on who is working. A lady who had "helped" me there today was really sarcastic in every interaction I had with her. She felt weirdly aggressive and like she gave this "I don't want to deal with you" look. Normally the service I've had there has been good just this time sucked. read more

Went in again today. Brad helped me again and he was awesome as he was in the past. Just a great overall experience trading in my Wii U. So, a lot of the staff are friendly, however there is a female cashier who was very friendly with one customer and very moody with me.
