So this is why I don't recommend this store! Today was a release for a set of Pokemon cards but if u pre ordered something u were supposed to get a special promo! Downey had it, Lakewood had it but somehow the bigger store did not have it. That's very fishy being the bigger store there is no way they did not get them. As of a few days ago those promos were already on eBay and other apps for sale for 100 dollars and up! This shows that a lot of employees of GameStop back door this stop and not only rob the stores to sell those cards for profit but GameStop also charges up to almost triple the worth of cards! Gamestop is always a hit or miss when it comes to customer service. It is well known that when they are busy, they tend to be a bit of a mess with people talking to several people at a time and taking some time at the register to check out. This one tends to be a touch less friendly but nothing offensive, perhaps because this one gets more people hanging out and looking around more than buying as I can tell. Inventory is okay but the organization can be out of place so be sure to look around if you are hunting for a game in particular. Again, likely because the customers are moving things around. Terrible customer service. I came to this store with a return label to request an exchange/refund on some items that I purchased online, but they refused to process my request within the return/exchange period. I was referred to contact customer service, only to realize that I was provided with the wrong phone number to continue processing my request. I contacted customer service on two separate occasions AND visited a different GameStop store that was willing to initiate the return/exchange, but the people at this store failed to inform me about the recent changes to the return policy. If the people at this store did not give me the runaround about my visit in the first place, I would not be in this situation where I can no longer process my return/exchange since I am now considered to be outside the return/exchange period. Worst customer service experience I have ever dealt with. I will never consider doing business with this particular store in the future because of this incident. read more

Staff is nice, but be aware that there is often just one employee manning the shop so if there is a line like there was when we went, you will have some waiting to do. read more

I've been coming to this GameStop for nearly 8/9 years. I understand covid protocol but when the customer service agent seems like he doesn't want to help me at all over the phone that makes me a disgruntled customer. I got nothing but I don't knows and it's to late to order right now. Even though they don't close for another hour. Honestly just disappointed but looking at the reviews it seems to be the standard for this store and the surrounding stores seemingly. I would have hoped that the person over the phone at least seemed somewhat enthused to help or be working for that matter. Stood in line and recieved a ticket to purchase a Playstation 5. The staff came put and told us ticket holders we would be able to purchase a console. Then of course their system goes down. Once they get it back up they're all out of Playstation 5s. So the staff took our phone numbers down and stated they will give us a call once they get consoles. Since that day, Gamestop has had consoles in stock on line. Called the store and spoke to the staff (not blaming anyone specifically) and was pretty much told we are SOL. I don't think I've ever bought anything here, although I do stop by quite often just to check out what's new in the world of video games. I usually end up buying the game at Fry's, Wal-Mart, Target, or Electronics Boutique in the mall for some reason. Hell, I think I buy stuff from the Gamestop located at the Cerritos Towne Center as well. This Gamestop does have a pretty good location, and there's a pretty constant flow of people visiting. I only think that it has stiff competition against Target Greatland (in the same shopping plaza) and the Los Cerritos Center across the street. The selection is complete with all new games and a pretty respectable selection of used games for discounted prices. If you're a savvy buyer, the used games are where it's at. You can usually save quite a few bucks if you find ones in good condition. They also have working demos, which is a definite plus. What good does having them out do if they don't work most of the time, like in many other places? This store opened back in 2002, along with the rest of the Cerritos Promenade center and has remained a mainstay ever since. I've actually known a couple of the employees at one point or another since I went to school with some of them. The service has been consistent and is pretty helpful. read more

He really took the time to look at other stores since they were out, and even called them for me to make sure it was in stock before I went. My son was looking to trade in his current DSi for the new 3DS so after lunch at near by Five Guys, we walked over to this Gamestop. The first thing I noticed was the spaciousness of the store. Most Gamestops are overloaded with merch stuffed into small spaces. Not so here. For me, the best part of the visit was the female staffer behind the counter. All of our questions were answered knowledgeably, w/authority and a friendly demeanor. I wish I could remember her name... Today @ the trade-in, a different employee (Raymond) helped us with the same qualities. He explained the new promos thoroughly and seemed to be into making this a good experience for my son. Way back in May I Pre-ordered LA Noire (sp?) for my girlfriend. We had just bought our home and was a gift before our big move. Anyways, life happens and between our jobs and our move we didn't get a chance to pick up the game until a few weeks ago. Of course our name wasn't in the system when we had to pick up. So my girlfriend came home and found the receipt and went right back. According to their system someone had "picked up the game" two days after purchase. Really?? You need a receipt to pick up! Manager promised to look into it and a few days later we got a call saying we could pick up the game. Apparently it was a "store error". For our troubles we got a $5 gift card. I don't know a lot about video games but I think I'll stick to Amazon when I want to purchase next time. read more

We were told there would be no preorder at all and that we'd need to come on release day to stand in line early if we wanted one. I visit this Gamestop at least 4 times a month. The selection of games is just about the same as other Gamestops. What I liked most about this Gamestop was the employees. I like how its easy to ask these employees for suggestions and they most likely will give you a GOOD one. I bought my xbox and ps3 from this store and I'm very satisfied. If they don't have game you want, they will be more than happy to find a store nearby that has one. read more
