Not sure if they took their chai off tap since it's September, but I'd love to try it. NOTE: They have a rule on their tables requesting you buy something every two hours, so make sure you know that going in and plan accordingly. They have funky seasonal drinks that rotate monthly. WFH/COWORKING COMPATIBILITY: There is no shortage of outlets. An abundance of them on the tall tables, which is where my gf and I usually sit. I believe they are on the booths too, but can't confirm because I haven't sat there. I don't think they are super accessible via couch, but I've only sat there once. They also have wifi, which has never given me issues. It can get noisy with people playing tabletop games, but I've never had an issue if I just put headphones in. The communal tables mean there is plenty of space for everyone's stuff. I just hang my backpack on my chair. AMBIANCE: They play excellent music. A lot of sapphic stuff, riot grrrl, oldies, very good vibes. I've been going over the summer, and it's never been terribly warm. They have huge windows with shades that you can pull down. There's a sort of "backyard" area, I'm not sure whether it's accessible to the public, but it makes it feel cute and homey. It's very rustic-feeling, everything's wood and there are these wood bars on the ceiling if that makes sense. They have booths, a couch, two armchairs, and communal tall tables. Even though it can get crowded, I've never had nowhere to sit. PARKING/DRIVING/TRANSIT: Street parking (with no time limit/associated cost) is really your only option, but that's never been an issue for me and my gf. We've never had to park too far away, and we've never been unable to find a spot or had to look for more than a couple minutes. Make sure to not listen to Maps when it tells you to turn left on those big streets if that's not your jam lol. Also I think it's a five minute walk from that one A line stop, so if you live close enough that's a good alternative. STAFF: The sweetest, friendliest, gayest, nerdiest baristas ever. I've never had a bad experience with them. I've been to other cafes frequently, but since this one became our new spot, one of the baristas recognized me after we'd only gone a few days in a row. They all seem to be friends with the regulars, even though they've only been open a year as of a couple days ago. We usually go around the same time, so we generally see the same staff members, and they seem to recognize us when we come in. LOCATION: For me personally, it's very conveniently located, which is a huge plus. It's in a super cute area with lots of restaurants, dessert places, thrift shops, bars, etc., and I'm excited to check out the area more. Right next to Revenge Of, a comic book store, and I believe they have some sort of relationship or connection. I'm not huge into comic books, but if you are, that would be a huge plus, and it seems like they have a hang sesh out behind the comic book store maybe once a week or month? I think the comic book store has some sort of parking situation (where the hang is), but not sure if it's open to the public/And Destroy patrons. BATHROOM: They have a bathroom with a code, I don't remember exactly how I felt about it but I at least didn't have a negative enough experience that it stuck in my head as bad. I remember it being cute and aesthetic. It's just one single bathroom, but I've never had to wait or seen a line. STIMULATION: At times it can be overstimulating to be so close to other people at the communal tables. I've been there many times, and I've only been overstimulated by it once. It depends on the time and day that you go. If you look at their calendar, you can see if there's stuff going on that day, which may affect crowdedness. HOURS: They have great hours - 7am-10pm. They open early and close late - much later than most coffee shops. RESERVING TABLES/GAMING: I'm not versed in tabletop games, so I can't speak to that, but I've overheard people saying that if you want to play tabletop, this is the place to do it. In terms of reserving tables, it's $5/person for 2 hours from 5-10pm, but I believe it's free 7am-5pm. However, it's very easy after a few visits to earn the reward of a free 2 hour reservation. I believe you can reserve any of the different types of seating options. People reserving tables has never been an issue for seating, I've stayed as late as 8/8:30pm with no issue. As a new player, you can imagine my excitement to finally play out in the wild and not via sim or at home with my partner. After signing up for the event on the Bandai app, I noticed that the store had included a note that signing up on the app did not guarantee registration for the event and that registration would be first-come, first-serve the day of. Kind of defeats the purpose of pre-registering, but no problem. When my partner & I contacted the store for the event information, we were each told that sign-ups would begin at 6 p.m., and they discouraged coming earlier due to lack of space in store.   As I mentioned, I'm not a regular player to this store, and I'm not expecting to be treated with entitlement here, but I was disheartened to hear the employee tell me that, if I wanted to play in the pre-release, there was no point in waiting since they already allowed their local players to sign up well before the sign up time they told me and that they couldn't just tell them "to get the fuck out of the store."  But, clearly, he had no issues telling me that I could essentially get lost as they had honored others instead of the sign up policy they told me. When my partner called them out on this, we were offered to purchase six packs of OP-17 at MSRP (only if we waited in the artificial event line until 7 p.m.). When I declined and called it a joke, they offered to let us purchase a box of OP-17 at $400. The previous Friday (and outside of a pre-release event), they were selling sealed boxes of OP-17 for $330. I'm not faulting the store for selling outside of events and before the actual release date here (but I definitely will complain to Bandai about it), but the actual disrespect of trying to scalp a person that just wanted to participate in the event and join in the community was such a slap in the face.   While I had never played in a tournament or any kind of event at Legacy (or anywhere else) before, I have had the unfortunate experience of purchasing cards and sleeves from them. About 90% of the time, I am met with employees that I have to ask to help me because they are either on their phones, daydreaming, or just ignoring me. I'm not acquainted with a lot of card shops, but as the only example I had at the time, I was mistakenly led to believe that this kind of poor customer service was a standard. I have since experienced the gold standard at other card shops, such as Core TCG in Pasadena and Jungle in Little Tokyo.   I can't imagine how people within what seems to be such a fun, welcoming community accept this kind of treatment and blatant disrespect for themselves and others. For those that love One Piece as much as I have come to love OP, it saddens me that people are not more empowered to stand against this kind of malpractice.   This said, I want to give Legacy credit for doubling me down in this hobby outside of their business, supporting fair and honest spaces elsewhere that respect us in return.

Their selection is very comprehensive: ranging from Western superhero comics, to alt comics to manga horror. The store is very clearly divided, so the monthly comics are stored on one wall and the trade paperbacks and hardcover editions in the rest. I really enjoyed the minimalistic design: the white walls emphasize the colorful volumes much like a gallery space would its artwork. The clerk on duty was pleasant and helpful as several people came and went in the short time I was there. Comics are typically priced by publisher, so it's unlikely you would be surprised by the price of any of the inventory. Will definitely return.
