I dreaded coming here because the last time I was with a friend at a card show (it was at a mall),…read moreit was 2 of the most boring hours of my life and all he did was browse and bought a few Magic the Gathering cards. But yesterday, I went to Pandemonium w/ my husband and 2 sons. We went over to the Pokémon section, and I was amazed. First of all, I couldn't believe my older son, who's 8, totally held his own and knew what he was talking about asking to look at cards from different types of sets and versions of different values, etc. My youngest son, who's 6, was doing pretty well himself. But the thing that impressed me the most is that, the Pokémon guru, Trevor, did not talk down to my kids and try to scam them out of money. I don't know if it's because my husband and I were standing there, but all I saw were very professional transactions, ending with an official agreement-binding handshake. My husband and I were basically only there to show support towards their strong interest in something specific and would've only jumped in if things went completely sideways, but I got a feeling they would've been treated with the same respect if we weren't there, especially since my kids know what they're talking about. I'm so proud of them and so impressed with Trevor and the store in general that when my kids get older, I would be happy to drop them off for a couple of hours to battle with others while I go get some peace and quiet somewhere else.

I suspect this store is a front for illegal activity as it's the only plausible explanation for why…read moreit has remained in business for so many years with such a horrible business model and crappy customer experience. Sheisty is the one word I would use to describe this place. Prices are INSANE and an employee was actually debating me about if an extremely overpriced game was reasonably priced and got condescending when I pulled up pricecharting.com data to show that it was like 2.5x(!) more expensive than I could easily buy online. You will feel awkward as the employees closely watch you as you look around the store, and particularly if you look up prices on your phone. Do yourself a favor and go to Disc Replay in Taylor instead.

If ZERO stars were possible that's what I would put. Here's my story;…read moreI needed a ps3 controller. They had one for $49. Way too high of a price. Bought it anyway. I asked what the return policy was, lazy eye woman told me I'd get cash back if I returned in 24 hours or credit within 7 days. Brought back the controller first thing the next day. "I never said that" and proceeded to only give me in store credit. The store is cash only and has no signs telling you that. They suggest you use the atm then get the $3 off your purchase, definitely how money laundering works. Against my better judgment I went back a week later to use the credit. For a $69 ps5 camera. I had the $49 in credit and $5 for some sort of promo. Just for the lazy eye cashier to tell me I can only use one at a time. To top it off it feels like the someone died in there and the ghost lives in the aisles. If you're into really bad experiences this is the place for you!

I took my 24 year old child who has a learning disability to GamePlay Livonia (29462 7 mile Rd)…read more12/22/24. I insisted he communicate to the staff as to the issue with his Xbox. He spoke to the people behind the counter regarding his Xbox (Drive Disk Error). The repair guy confirmed it was a Disk Drive Error and would see if he could fix it. My son gave the woman behind the counter his name and number and she gave him a repair ticket. We were told we would have an answer if not tonight tomorrow. The following day he called the store twice according to his cell phone call logs. As all he wanted was his Xbox repaired before CHRISTMAS. Later that afternoon he called (the second time) and was told to come pick it up and they couldn't fix it. Once we arrived, with me standing there, he was told they weren't going to fix it because he kept calling. I told my son to take the Xbox to the car. I then told the staff that it is obvious he has a learning disability and all he wanted was his Xbox repaired before Christmas. They looked at me dumbfounded stood there and said nothing, I left the store. I cannot and will not do business with GamePlay at this location or any other as it is pretty obvious they do not care about the customer - this could have been easily resolved if they had demonstrated some kind, any kind of compassion or a simple I'm sorry (Let see if we cant fix the problem for the young man). The funny thing is my son always wants to go to GamePlay to get a used game(s) for his Xbox. Treating my son they way they did is unacceptable and I can only hope KARMA is kinder then they were to my son. Lion Defending His Cub
