Aah, the simple pleasures! What a treat to peruse shelves and shelves of comics in June 2020 even…read moreif myself and the proprietar, the only ones in the store, had to wear masks for pandemic protection. Green Brain has adequate selection of Marvel (huzzah!) and DC (meh! I might mess with some Batman though). They've got floor space dedicated to kids - no comments from the peanut gallery about all comics being for kids please. Exhibit A backing up my previous statement is their selection of graphic novels. There's a smattering of indie comics and a stray zine or two as well. The discount racks are pretty dismal. Yeah, I know they're discounted for a reason, but I've had some success at other shops unearthing diamonds in the rough that I haven't here. Too much wannabe Marvel / DC pollute the stacks here. Not smart stuff like Image but real dumb ass stereotypical genre dreck. It's easy to avoid that part of the store, to be fair there's enough elsewhere but I can never seem to poke my head through there just long enough to be disgusted, especially when "Big Gretch" had comics shops shuttered for months. Green Brain used to occasionally have artists come in for signings. I got a little signed sketch of Jared from Superjail! executed by one of the show's animators to prove it. (Yeah, I'm a jerk; I forget the guy's name.) I'm not sure if they still do stuff like this. My travels don't often take me to Dearborn, but my sister lives over there so GB is a fun place to pop into if I go over there. My last visit I scored an X-Men collection from the early 70s featuring X-Men appearing in other Marvel comics as their title was cancelled for awhile due to low sales, only available as reprints. It's got a number of Hank McCoy escapades and most notably Wolverine's very first appearance when he squared up as an adversary for the Incredible Hulk. I also scored a collection of comics about the Rolling Stones, a Hawkeye compilation and a couple of solo Wolverine comics. Not to brag, but the masked man behind the counter said I made good selections. And you know how fussy those guys can be! Like even more opinionated than Yelp reviewers sometimes...

Located in downtown Plymouth, the buildings look historical. Public parking is available but limited to 2 hours parking. It gave us enough time to park and walk towards the GTC. I find the window display from the outside to be intimidating and made me think that the prices of the items they sell are expensive. Surprised to find out later that they sell toys at a comparable price. most of the employees we saw were female...I find them friendly and knowledgeable of what's new and trendy when it comes to toys for the kids and young at heart. saw a lot of plush bears/puppies, and age appropriate educational toys. what's great about the store is they have a point system for every dollar spent. they may ask you to join and record your phone number so they can contact you if the items you're looking for is already available. looking forward in opening my first box of museum series Smiski!

Selection is fantastic and their trade in offer is pretty decent..,…read more I flipped a few vinyls here recently (well, definitely more than a few) while visiting family and it was worth it.. not a bad return.. I've picked up some really nice gently used vinyl like gems from Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, David Bowie, Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, and Kraftwerk... prices are higher than most for barely used lps but they have amazing selection, and quality is sublime.. they pretty much have everything you could possibly like.. We picked up some new (brand new sealed in plastic) vinyl and the new stuff was not cheap but it wasn't terribly high priced.. at this juncture it is difficult to score really amazing bargains on new or used vinyl- that's just the way it is for vinyl.. I bought a new copy of an old Amy Winehouse lp for a decent price... still had some leftover on the gift card for another vinyl for my husband.. (sister in law bought us a gift card for the holiday- what a gift!) Staff is helpful and seems pretty knowledgeable.. the stock tends to move fast so you have to stop over regularly to see what you might unearth in the used bins.. They have much more than vinyl. They sell a niche array of novelty gift items and games, so you should look around. My husband likes the selection of novelty socks.. Overall, a very good local music store.. yes the prices are a tad high, but vinyl pricing is out of control lately everywhere.. for the quality and awesome selection, it is a must see.

We were there maybe an hour and a half all told, but it didn't feel like it. We never felt rushed - she took her time and let us take ours. Brilliant experience. She was a wealth of information and helpful tips, gave us a YouTube account to look at for techniques and a local place to take classes. We very much enjoyed our time in this shop and with this wonderful woman. Wish we lived closer! Suffice it to say that, if you're in the market for skates or skating gear (or anime gear, toys, wearables etc), this is the SPOT. The kind of place you love supporting because it feels like home and you can geek out together about things you love. What a treasure. We both walked out with some insanely comfortable Retros and a set of pads. A week later we are just beginning to get out skate legs, no longer feeling like such awkward baby gazelles, and very grateful for the care and attention she gave us in helping us select skates, know what to look for, and where to start learning. This shop is a valuable community resource, so be thankful, Detroit - this is the real deal
