Really friendly staff. Adorable dog sometimes wanders the store. Huge 45 section, lots of CDs and DVDs too. The cons: no new arrivals section which means you need to browse the whole store to see all the new stuff. Also, they have a huge .25 cent selection of junk albums. I sometimes like to buy those primarily for the covers for art or display projects. But they write .25 cents in marker on the front of the cover. I have no problem with marking the outer sleeve but do it on the back! It's on Woodward with that really cramped parking. Overall though, it's a great store! Go there!

Now I am not quite sure if it was the best price, but I do love to get most of the gifts in advanced. This store has a nice area for groups who game and even a flyer for those who want to sign up to learn how to play games like D & D and join groups. There were some active groups on the day we visited enjoying playing. They have some fun video games and chance game machines scattered throughout the store which adds a fun vibe. They also have a bubble tea place connected to the store which adds to the charm. The tea place seemed crowded. They also have signs that let customers know they matched pop figure prices to the official pricing guide for those who also like that product. The people who work here were super friendly and talkative. They let me know all about the horror manga novels that were on display and asked us plenty of times if we needed anything. One issue is trying to look at albums when some dude who thinks he is cool is laying all his albums out over the the entire rack to check for scratches and you can't access the rack (I have been dealing with those kind of guys for 38 years). They need to have a little table so people can inspect. Yes- you guy who kept flashing The Cure's Seventeen Seconds album at me like I already don't have two copies of it in my collection. Lol That has nothing to do with the store. The only issue I had was not being greeted so I couldn't really ask about the records under the racks. We're they for sale? What genre? I wanted to ask but didn't want to interrupt the owner/manager/counter gentleman's conversation. The Book Annex is a great place to get books of great value on sale for a cheap price! Rather than a good filing system, books are more or less grouped. Prices are much too high, both for new and for older used books. The selection also tends far left and revolutionary, which fits as they were playing some loud zephyr music for my visit. The staff was also unfriendly, more interested in their conversation than customers. I strongly advise going to either King Books Detroit, or King North, instead. Unless you have a taste for far left books and spending a long time hunting for books than interest you.
