I was stopped at the front of the store, right by the cash registers, in full view of everyone coming and going. Multiple employees surrounded me while they searched my purse and my person. It was one of the most humiliating experiences I've ever had, especially knowing I had done nothing wrong. After they found nothing, one employee quietly apologized to me. What hurt the most was that there was never a public acknowledgment that I hadn't stolen anything or a public apology in front of all the people who had just watched me be treated like I had stolen something. Instead, I was left to walk away carrying the embarrassment and humiliation on my own. I went home in tears that day, and I have never been back. I genuinely used to enjoy shopping there, but the way that situation was handled changed that for me completely. I recently shared this experience in a comment on one of The General Store's TikTok posts about how amazing their store is. I wasn't trying to be hateful or disrespectful. I shared it because this experience genuinely hurt me, and I felt that customers should be able to speak honestly about how they have been treated. What was especially disappointing was their response. Rather than reaching out to say, "We're sorry this happened to you," acknowledging how the situation was handled, or letting me know that steps had been taken to prevent another customer from having a similar experience, they blocked me. That response was incredibly disappointing. I wasn't looking for anything from them other than some accountability and acknowledgment that the way I was treated was hurtful and humiliating. Being blocked for respectfully sharing my experience left me feeling as though protecting the store's image mattered more than hearing from a customer who had been deeply hurt by the way she was treated.

He was super helpful, explained what I needed to bring, the weight of the rod, the sinking weight of the line & the technique for sinking flies in big lakes. I ask for some flies and he mailed me a very nice box filled with wet flies & some sinking leaders. So.... went fishing & OMG!!!! you would not believe the fish we caught using the flies Bo sent us. We go to checkout and the price doesn't reflect on what they were advertising it for so we call for assistance at self checkout with an older lady named Patty. Patty asks us what the item was priced at and we tell her $10. She then rolls her eyes and says "$10 ?" Like a 'yeah, okay' response. She says she'll need to verify the price but then says she can't leave the checkout and tells us her supervisor says the price it rang up as was correct. I go back & take a picture of the item and shelf because Patty basically just called me a liar & go to self checkout to see someone named Mia. Mia checks the item for us and sees that the price isn't matching up either and I show her the picture I took of the fully stocked shelf of the toy & price. Mia tells me that someone stocked the toy under the wrong tag and that the price is listed for an 'LOL' toy that isn't even there. She didn't honor her advertised price & I decide to take my business elsewhere after being treated poorly. I could've paid the difference for my child but I'd rather take my family & business elsewhere
