This is my fourth review for Galpin Volvo, but it's been three years since my last update. During that time, Volvo's dealership and service center moved down the street into a beautiful new facility. I typically wait while my car is being serviced, and Galpin makes that easy. The waiting area is comfortable, the Wi-Fi is reliable, and the new FIKA Kafé is a nice touch. I used to enjoy having Starbucks at the old location, but the espresso drinks here are exceptionally good. The service experience has also become more transparent. You now receive a video from the technician explaining any findings and recommendations, along with a text message containing your updated quote. During my most recent visit, the technician recommended replacing one of my front tires due to unusual wear. After reviewing the video and inspection results, I decided to replace both front tires since they were wearing faster than the rears. This was actually the first time I've requested more work than was recommended. I appreciated being given clear information and options without any pressure. I plan to keep my XC40 for a few more years. It was one of the first 2019 XC40s sold by Galpin when the model was released, and with only 40,000 miles on it, it's still running like new. Will I be back? Absolutely. Galpin makes servicing easy, and the technology they've added to the process is a big improvement. read more

Took our old volvo trade lease in 6 months early no negotiation no hassle they covered our last 6 month payments plus all the wear and tear which was valued about 2 grand and lease return fee. This review is mostly about the service department. I brought my car to Galpin Volvo this year solely for routine, preventative annual maintenance, and I ended up leaving with more problems than I arrived with and a $5000+ bill to address recommendations by the tech. This is unfortunately part of a pattern of incompetence a little over 1 year ago, I had to bring the car in three separate times for the exact same coolant issue before they finally applied a fix that worked. To make matters worse, they charge insane labor rates and they come across as more interested in selling you a new car. On this recent visit when we arrived to pick up our vehicle after this year's scheduled maintenance, it was making a severe, loud noise that was definitely not present when I dropped it off. Instead of taking responsibility, my service advisor tried to gaslight me, saying the technician stated the noise "was always there" despite it never being noted anywhere on the initial intake or inspection paperwork. To "make it right," they put me in a loaner vehicle, but even that experience fell flat. The loaner barely had a 1/4 tank of gas, and the advisor acted like he was doing me a massive favor by apologizing telling me I wouldn't have to fill it back up before returning it over a text message. A few days later, we returned to pick up the car after they allegedly fixed the issue. We barely made it a couple of miles down the road before multiple dashboard warning lights started flashing. We immediately turned around and brought the car right back to the dealership. It turned out the belt they had just replaced was already shredded and torn up, forcing them to keep the car yet again for additional repairs. They quickly changed the belt again, while we waited and watched a lot of employees with name badges hanging out at the coffee bar. Our advisor offer a free detail if we come back while they left for the day and we waited for the car. Paying exorbitant labor rates for work that requires multiple visits and leaves your car in worse shape than when you dropped it off is completely unacceptable. Between the repeated return trips, shoddy mechanical work, defensive staff, and sky high prices, this service department is an absolute nightmare. Save your money, avoid the headache, and take your vehicle elsewhere. On top of everything, communication around billing is just as careless. The service advisor completely failed to notify us about the 3% credit card processing fee before heading to the dealership to pay for bill. Thankfully, I already knew about it and had planned accordingly. After looking at yelp it is funny how they closed the other business profile with 3.7 stars just because their address changed when they moved across the street to their new building. read more

Great experience choosing a Polestar. Ben Barr was my salesman and gave me a very good sense of what the options were with the various models (I chose the 4). More importantly, Ben was great with follow up. A few weeks after getting the car, I experienced some issues with the main screen. The manual directions for a soft reset weren't fixing the issue. So I gave Ben a call and he reached out an hour later to walk me through the correct way to do the soft reset. read more

We live in an era of constantly degrading customer experiences. From hopeless call centers, to AI chat bots, to employees who reflect their hatred or disdain for the company onto the customer. My experience over three visits to Polestar LA service (housed at Galpin Volvo), is the polar opposite. I got a service appointment within a couple days. Christina coordinated an EV rental from Hertz for me during the work, then did a great job communicating updates to me throughout the service process. The techs seem to have been super thorough with the work they did. Then, when my car was ready, I had a potential snafu on the way to drop off the rental -- traffic was awful and I was going to arrive after Hertz closed. I called polestar and Christina's colleague Nick found a different Hertz along my route to drop the car off at AND sent a Lyft to pick me up. After all this good stuff, I arrived to find my car was beautifully washed and fully charged. Actually mind blowing stuff in 2026. 10/10. 5 stars. This is the service you are looking for. read more

I've waited to review this dealership until finish the maintenance so I can provide more precise review :) I thank Maldino and sales Manager to help me finalized my decision to purchase XC90 I used to drive a sedan so it was a big change Maldino communicated with me when I had trouble to adjust this car since I'm not use to new cars. It's wonderful to have someone who can help me. Also I thank Vahan who is the service consultant whenever I visit there. He explain the services what I should do & the process so I can understand fully before make the decision what I'd like to do this time. He remembered about the conversation what's going on and send the messages about the progress. He makes sure that we are on the same page. I'm happy that I purchased the extended warranty even though Galpin offered good warranty as well. I don't have to hesitate to visit the service center. I know it has the limit numbers of visiting but still it's really covers the most of the services ! I love this car. If someone ask me if I'm going to buy next car from Galpin then, Yes! I will go with next generation of XC90 and probably my husband's next car as well. read more

Been having my car serviced with Galpin for the past 6 years. Regular service, you can request in advance a loaner - i've been very lucky to always receive one. I try to make my appointments first thing in the morning as loaners get more scarce later in the day. They also offer you a lyft to and from the dealership if you prefer that. With each service you have a direct line to a customer representative to provide updates on your service. For this past one i was very lucky to get Vahan, he was great at communicating updates as i had to have the car there for a couple days. The dealership just opened this new location in april of 2025 - very nice seating area - area to order a coffee or grab a snack. I reccommend always booking appointments in advance and early - this location is extremely popular so i have found its hard to get in last minute and later appointments may be delayed depending on what they are facing from earlier customers. Also, take advantage of their mailers - they send coupons quite often which are always a huge help when you have a surprise issue pop up. read more

Not just 5 starts, 50 stars! Sako is out of this world! My absolute best car buying experience. I am still in disbelief that such dealership and service exists! From the beginning when I called, Sako was outstanding, he quickly gave me their lowest price on the vehicle. I quickly put down a refundable deposit. He arranged a valet to pick me at the LAX airport (easy $60 Uber savings). Then the car was ready for me. Financing gave me multiple options and matched my own bank. I received 1 year bumper to bumper and 10 year power train warranties free of charger. I was mad for not finding this place a year earlier since I bought 2 cars last year. The service, the quality, the value are unmatched. Go in and ask for Sako. read more

We bought a Volvo ZX90 new in 2024. We have had issues with the entertainment system from the start. When they were unable to repair the problem last time we had it in we were told we should call Volvo USA customer service. I tried twice and spent a collective 60 minutes on hold. I call ed the service manager and told him what was going on. I told him we bought the car from Galpin and they should be the ones dealing with Volvo. He agreed, said he would look into it and call me back within two weeks. That was five weeks ago and we've heard nothing, even in response to a letter I sent to the manager of the service department and the general manager of the dealership. In the meantime, we have been without access to I-Heart radio for more than two months this time. We've had the car in for service on this same issue repeatedly since we bought the car. read more

I had an amazing experience at Galpin Volvo, and it was all thanks to Sako. From the very beginning, he was professional, patient, and genuinely focused on helping me find the right car for me, not just making a sale. He really listened to what I wanted, explained everything clearly, and made the whole process feel smooth and stress-free. Sako went above and beyond to help me find and purchase the perfect car. He was responsive, knowledgeable, and made sure I felt confident and taken care of every step of the way, from narrowing down options to finalizing the purchase. I never felt pressured, and I truly felt like he had my best interest in mind. If you're going to Galpin Volvo, ask for Sako!!!! he's the kind of person you want in your corner when buying a car. This review is primarily for their service department. The place is impressive as far as aesthetics and space. However, they really need to train the people who schedule appointments, not to schedule a customer if they need diagnostic workup, on a Saturday. They do not and will not do diagnostic workup on Saturdays! I had told the person that sounded like a technician, who took my appointment about the exact issues and he accurately read them back to me in detail. I should have been told that I needed to schedule my visit during the week instead of on a Saturday. Pishan was especially very professional and courteous. Most of the staff is overall courteous and professional. I appreciated the gentleman who washed my car and tires . I would suggest that they need at least a small outdoor seating area. Just a few chairs, and a table. It's good to get some vitamin D while you are waiting for a few hours to get your car taken care of. Warning their coffee cup did not fit the coffee cover very well and it ended up burning my thumb with first degree burns and redness. The pastries look good but they do not taste very fresh, so I would skip the pastries. read more

This review is 3 months after my purchase and I would still buy from Andrew and Maldino at Galpin Volvo. From the cafe barista to the custodians to office admin to sales and finance, there is a cohesiveness in their demeanor. Other dealerships seemed competitive but Galpjn felt communal and that attitude was felt throughout the floor. My salesperson was Andrew and he was first and foremost patient. He knew I had a timeline and a budget and provided options that were within my timeframe and price range. There were some specs I was picky about and flopped back and forth for weeks. Still, Andrew laid out my options in a realistic manner without being disrespectful or condescending. It felt he put himself in my shoes and understood my timeline and limited funds. I respect his candor and his transparency but his empathy went a long way. Even after we were connected with Maldino in finance, my dad was so shocked at the level of service, kindness, professionalism, honesty, and swiftness of the entire transaction. We had a potential trade in and they were SO accommodating. I would highly recommend Galpin!!! read more

I can't recommend Justin Permijo highly enough. From start to finish, he was not only incredibly responsive but truly proactive. He took the time to listen carefully to what I wanted and to understand the kind of buyer and driver I am. Every recommendation he made was clearly based on my needs and priorities--not his own interests--which made the process feel thoughtful and collaborative. He went above and beyond by helping me to secure a deal for my XC90 with my exact specifications, making the entire experience seamless. His integrity was evident at every step, and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. If you're looking for someone who will advocate for you, guide you with expertise, and make the process easy, I wholeheartedly recommend working with him. read more

The people that work here are very nice, but it is so hard to get an appointment, no loaners are ever available, it's frustrating. Had an exceptional experience here! I'm a new mom and didn't have time to head over to the dealership so Andrew from Galpin Volvo patiently sent me quotes and answered all my questions (and let me tell you, I had A LOT). Once I was ready (and had time), I headed over to the dealer and Andrew had car options ready and waiting. We drove away with my dream car at a very comfortable price, one a broker couldn't even match! Andrew reached out later in the week to make sure everything was going smoothly and if I had any follow up questions. I will absolutely return with my business once my lease is up. Very grateful for Andrew who made what is usually a stressful/time consuming process quick a painless for a new mom! read more

I walked into the Volvo in North Hills and fell in platonic love with two things: my new XC90 and Kevin McEneaney. I didn't think it was possible to have a pleasant car dealership experience but Kevin proved me wrong. He's a gentleman! I am really disappointed with this place all together. I purchased my car here no one told me that my car included my first 3 services with the car. I call to schedule the appointment and Anthony gives me that information so that was great. However when I come the service advisor that helped me, Vahan, tells me there's no way and to have a seat. He comes back and does not apologize he says "well he knows more than me" and tells me my car will be getting the service under the service plan I had. Great, I get here early 1015 my appointment was 10:40 so I expected to wait a little time. 130pm and my car is still sitting in the same place. When I asked the advisor he said it's first come, first serve. I mentioned how several people have left before me that came after me. My thought is because I was not paying out of pocket that they did not take my car right away. I had to insist they give me a timeline. I'm patient but it was not even busy and he was extremely dismissive once again not even to apologize for my time that I have waited. He came and said "well the other technician is going to take your car as a favor" a favor? Favor to who? Not me because I brought my car here to be serviced. Maybe because I did not buy my car 0 miles that my buying experience was not THE best then the service not being the best. I can never think where this would be ok to treat a customer like this. Very disappointing 2:40pm just got my car no apologies for sitting here for almost 5 hours for a place that was not busy and to get an oil change that once I complain they strangely got done in 45mins read more

I was almost in tears when I heard that my service advisor, Jack was no longer working at Galpin. I thought I was doomed. But, I need not have worried. Jack was replaced by the equally qualified, efficient and outstanding service of Tommy Hall. I didn't think it was possible to match Jack, but Tommy did. What a relief. Brought my beloved XC60 in for a low battery warning. Tommy took care of checking it, testing it and leaving me feeling confident of my car's condition before he set me back out on the road. I could not have been happier. I definitely need and want a new car. Tommy has instilled a confidence in me through this experience that Volvo would be a good choice (3rd Volvo in a row). I need to take a couple of minutes to recognize the outstanding service I've received from Reza (Polestar LA Manager) and Nathalie M. I purchased a Polestar 2 in 2022. The ownership experience hasn't been entirely seamless, but the level of service at Polestar Los Angeles has been, and that's because of Reza and Nathalie. They've gone above and beyond to be accommodating, professional and thoughtful. When my vehicle was in for service and I needed to travel to the East Coast shortly after my father passed, the level of empathy and kindness exhibited by these two individuals is worthy of a 5-star review in itself. If every dealership had people like Reza and Nathalie, I don't think we'd dread visiting them. Thank you both for all of your help and courteousness! read more

The salesperson forgot we had an appointment with her so we had to wait for her. She showed us only two vehicles-guessing they were on the back lot too long. Took three hours after we decided on a vehicle to get into finance. At no time were we asked if we wanted even a cold water. Purchased the vehicle yet even after four months no one from the dealer has contacted us to make sure all is ok. Volvo called to ask if the dealer had contacted us but even telling them no we still have not heard. I bought a used car from here. Was a joke he is. He was very responsive until I drove oh before that. I went back and forth whether I should buy this car, I decided to pull the plug and buy it. Martin (the Sales person) was very responsive until he wasn't. I told him that I did not want to sit in the dealership for hours, he promised that he would have the paperwork ready. That did not happen. He actually went home while I was still sitting in his office. Yep, he did. I was there 3 hours 1/2 of without him even being there. Whatever. I had equity in my Rav 4. I sold it because of personal reasons so I could get the equity. I have had two different car dealerships tell me that the check should have been send within 2-3 weeks max. I've heard nothing. I had to leave 2 text for him to response and what I got was "I'll follow up on it". He never got back to me. I text him again asking who I need to follow up with. He never responded. I'm so upset. If you are someone that communication is important, I would look elsewhere. This dealership clearly just wants to sell a car, once you drive off the lot, you are yesterdays news.
