Waited 45 mins a to drop off a few shirts and pick up 2 shirts. No multi tasking at this location. 3 metro security officers came in together right before me. All 3 of them had to try on uniforms. Instead of sending them to one person to handle the same task... They sent them to 3 separate employees and the line was out the door. I've shopped at this location before when it was still (Quartermaster). But since it changed ownership. I feel it's not the same. When I first walked in, it was like walking into a department store the day after Christmas. Articles of clothing were laid everywhere. Boxes of merchandise were sitting in the middle of the floor like it just got delivered. The staff were busy assisting customers, and I wasn't acknowledged until after I had checked via iPad right at the front. When it came to my turn, all I wanted was a simple embroidery on my jacket. They advised that their seamstress called out and it wouldn't be ready until after the weekend. However, they were nice enough to contact another location to check the availability of their seamstress. They were helpful and nice. I understand the delay in a large unanticipated order, or a complicated order, but my order was simple and something they could do while I wait, and they couldn't even accommodate that. All in all, I think with a little more organization and a bigger staff (more than one tailor/seamstress and more floor workers), this place would be amazing. read more

The best thing donut this store is they have private free parking. Other then that there's not much to recommend. The customer service is horrible. Starting with having to sign in when you first walk in on a tablet that doesn't work. Just open a register and let customers come to check out when they're ready. Not every one needs one-on-one service. And if you want to offer one-on-one service hire more associates so people don't have to wait. You creating a seating area with sofas tells you all you need to know that this way isn't it. Also, the prices here are gross. Way overpriced. They have a first come first serve set up where you place your name on an electronic waiting list when you walk in. Unfortunately the waiting list can take long when almost everyone on the list is getting alterations. It may be quicker to have a cashier available for non custom orders, such as someone coming in to buy an off the rack item that doesn't need alterations. The location has multiple brand options. These range from their own Galls brand to 5.11. The Galls brand is not bad at all. Parking can be difficult as the lot is small. Customer service at this store is terrible. I went to the store during my lunch time to purchase a pair of uniform pants for a function I had that evening. I waited 65 minutes just to pay for my pants. There do not have a dedicate cashier. I asked two ladies that worked there if I could just pay for my pants I was told I had to put my name on a list (iPad) in order to be helped. I waited almost an hour just to pay. Those on the list ahead of me were getting measured for uniforms, getting alterations etc. All I wanted to do was just pay. They need to have a separate cashier at this store who just takes money. Staff makes you wait even though there is nobody in line. Double check their work especially sewing labels on your shirt. Be clear on the size because they will not use their own discretion even when it's so obvious the template is way to big for the shirt. Store has poor selection and staff members do not tend to the needs of the customers. You need to check in and they make you wait 10-15 minutes before they call out your name even when the store is empty. I just had to pick up my shirt and it took 30 minutes even when I was the only customer in there. Management need to change. I would avoid going to this spot unless you become desperate. read more

Every time I walk into Gall's, usually to buy pepper spray, the staff is unfriendly to the point of seeming annoyed that I walked in and had a question. The first time was annoying. The second time it happened I made a sarcastic remark and walked out, and I won't be back. I can get what they're selling online with less attitude. WOW, what a horrible experience, I have used Galls in Culver City in the past before they closed. 6th st. Galls was my nearest store. I was greeted at the door by a very nice security guard who asked me to sign in at an Ipad, so I did ' I then waited for 30 minutes and got no help, I wanted to buy a $180 flashlight, it literally took this employee 15 minutes to ring up one person, I asked her if she could get the flashlight right there in the case and ring me so I can go, she said I have to wait to be called and she was helping a customer, the customer she was helping was in the fitting room, so she just stood there folding clothes and refused to help me. The other employees in the store were just as rude, I swear I had better service at the DMV, in fact I bet Galls recruited these people from the DMV. I dealt with Robert, I gave him the contract number for the agency and told him which items I needed and he found them all. We fitted everything and he found all the correct patches, etc., I came back a couple days later and everything was fitted and patches sewn on exactly according to spec. Don't be in a rush if you're a government agency employee because they want to make sure everything meets spec and are very careful. Just know that you need to sign in on the iPad when you enter- they take people in order of arrival. Prices are decent- in my case the agency negotiated price. But they will also match their website prices if you're shopping retail, contrary to what a previous review stated. They also told me next time to call in and they'd ship for free from the store. read more

Came in today to get a new carrier for my duty soft armor. I was told to sign in. There was only 1 other customer in the store. After that customer left I went up to the counter to ask for help. I was told to wait and they would call me. There was a 5 employees in the store. Another customer walked in and they were getting his pick up order. Again, there's 4 other employees in the store and I'm still told to wait. After not being helped, waiting 35 mins , and then the employee saying "I'm going on break". I couldn't just stand there and continue to look stupid, so I left. The employees shouldn't work here if they're job is to sell law enforcement equipment, but they don't like law enforcement. You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting a different result... insanity. You'd never know that the place was a few miles from downtown Los Angeles where thousands of sheriff's deputies work. I saw three pairs of class A pants and a few shirts. But sadly it's always like this. No matter what I go there for they don't have it. Today was the last straw. I walked in looking for a large 'SHERIFF' patch to go on the back of a jacket but after a five minute wait while a employee was right in front of me on a phone call where whomever she was calling places her on hold she still couldn't manage to multi-task and ask me if I needed any help. I finally interrupted her doing nothing other than holding the phone to her face and asked her if they had the patches. The reply... nope. "We have Police, EMS, and 'Security'. 'SHERIFF' was a special order. Amazing! Not exactly a high price item. As I said above this was the last of way too many trips to this place hoping that just once they would have what I need. If you're a bus driver or a parking enforcement officer they've got you covered but if you work for the largest sheriff's department in the entire country you're out of luck.
