The meals I have had at the gallery have been nice. I've dined at both the bar and the seated space. The most recent trip I had an exceptionally lovely experience with the server Dexter. The hostess that was working did a wonderful job with a lot of large tops and regular smaller tops pouring in for breakfast. She is sweet and we talked about our affinity for the color green. I had the pancakes with a side of eggs, decaf latte and a green juice. The scrambled eggs I requested soft/wet. The kitchen did a beautiful job. I've never had eggs cooked so beautifully by my grandmother. The eggs were exceptional. I also overheard other tables raving about the scrambled eggs. One set of elder ladies were trying to figure of their secret of how they make them so delicious. The pancakes were beautiful! They were fully cooked throughout and had a great exterior texture. Soft and fluffy but with a touch of a griddle crunch on the edges. Just absolutely perfection. The kitchen is significantly punching above their weight on how they're cooking items. Truly the best brunch I have had in I do not know how long. My water glass was constantly full. Dexter was attentive, completely a lovely person and I enjoyed reading the newspaper over my breakfast. We visited Gallery Restaurant twice during our stay at Ballantyne. While the restaurant is good and food is good overall, I expected it to be better given it is part of five star hotel. I expected more of Ritz Carlton restaurant experience and they are not quite there. We arrived around 2pm for lunch and their hours are till 3pm. The waiters seems to be arguing with receptionist that they should stop taking customers in at 2pm. But we were seated reasonably quickly. The food choices were good overall. We were able to get brunch - omelettes, grilled cheese sandwiches and they were able to modify flatbread to make it vegetarian for us. Next morning we had good breakfast overall - omelettes were good, waffles are nice with berries and they were able to make minor changes like add chocolate chips but again I expected this restaurant to be Conrad or JW or Ritz level but it is not simply there. They charged us 18% gratuity we were only four people, so that was a bit odd. But we didn't have time to protest and otherwise the tip was going to be 15%. Ambiance is of a restaurant one might see in Marriott or Westin not five star vibes. read more

Located inside the ballantyne hotel, Gallery restaurant is a solid choice for brunch. Typically I'm a little skeptical of restaurants in the hotels but this surpassed my expectations. Shoutout to Myrtle, she was fantastic and went above and beyond for the few days we had breakfast here. Myrtle gave excellent recommendations and she was very attentive throughout our time with refilling coffee, waters and checking in on us. I had the chicken and waffles and they were spectacular. Perfectly fried and not too dry inside the chicken and the waffles were orange flavored which was unique. I also tried the chorizo hash and it was a big portion but super yummy. On the bottom were potatoes as a base then chorizo and egg, avocado, fried tortilla. Greatly seasoned and it paired well together. I wanted to try them for lunch, but for the holiday week, they had brunch until dinner time. We stayed at the hotel, but for people who just wanted to eat there, they do validate parking. read more

Enjoyed a delicious brunch with my girlfriends. We were a group of 10, seated. Off to the side so that we could chat and laugh together. Myrtle was our server. She was friendly and funny. I ordered the crab cakes Benedict but I don't care for poached eggs so I subbed with grits and had fresh fruit as a side. The two crab cakes were served over fried green tomatoes. There was visible claw meat and not too much breading. The grits were lovely. Good enough to just order a side. The fruit was fresh and plentiful. The friend next to me gored the açaí bowl, the one across enjoyed the shrimp and grits and the friend on my other side enjoyed the meatless sausage and the carrot and ginger juice. I've been here for brunch before many years ago, and decided to go back and give it a try for lunch. Overall, I enjoyed my chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. This was my second time eating at the restaurant vs ordering room service (2024 was my first time) we enjoyed both dinner and brunch here and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. For dinner we asked for the bar menu because we weren't really in the mood for anything on the regular restaurant menu and they had no problem providing us with the separate menu. Dinner was also served with fresh bread along with a trio of butter(paprika, cheddar jalapeño and regular) and breakfast you get a basket of pastries like croissants, muffins, and little fruit filled pastries. The drinks were strong and delicious and our servers were fantastic. The chicken sandwich at dinner was delicious but I think I woild have enjoyed it more had I added like lettuce and tomato to it(my problem not theirs) and the wagu burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. The French fries were delicious and the kids all loved them. One of our littles didn't want a full meal just French fries and berries and they were both a nice serving. Breakfast was delicious but I do wish for $18 the French toast would come with something like a side of fruit or something but I get it. We tried their dinner and brunch! Both meals were SO good. For dinner they serve you a trio of butters to pair with fresh bread. They are all really good! One is packed with herbs, another is coated in a paprika, and the third is their house butter. For an appetizer we got the roasted cauliflower served over tahini tzatziki, and topped with toasted pistachios. I opted for the bucatini pasta for my entree and it ended up having super unique sweet flavor that was delicious. Ingredients included roasted eggplant, goat cheese, walnut cream, figs, and pomegranate seed. What a combo right? It works! My husband got the Joyce Chicken Roulade. It had a glazed chestnut puree, poultry sauce, artichoke and truffle. Very flavorful! I highly recommend. I got a cocktail and my husband got a beer. My drink was delicious. They serve you a lemon/lime to add to your water after you sit down, which was a nice touch. The next morning we came back for breakfast. I got a glass of champagne and one of their fun juice combinations. I choose the Pineapple, Cucumber, Celery, Kale, Juice. It was good and I felt healthy. For breakfast I got the chorizo hash which was out of this world! I would get it again.The tortilla on top was so good. My husband got focaccia tuna sandwich. The focaccia bread was insanely tender and delicious. The tuna also had good texture and flavor. I wish you could opt to get it served warm as that would level up the flavor. I would also like to just make it a melt by adding cheese. I can't wait to be back in the area as I would absolutely go for brunch again and I will rebook here for dinner anytime I stay at the hotel too. The highlight of our visit was for sure the amazing food, but the ambiance is right behind it. The Gallery is one of our favorite local spots - truly a hidden gem tucked inside the Ballantyne Hotel. It's never too busy, which makes it a great go-to for both breakfast and dinner. We come here for breakfast often, and it's consistently delicious. The kid portions are generous, and most items are under $10, which is a nice surprise for a hotel restaurant. While we absolutely love the food, the one downside lately has been the service speed. It's never been particularly fast, but it's gotten noticeably slower in recent visits. This past weekend, we waited about 20 minutes just for drinks and it wasn't even busy. Some drinks never made it to the table, and our food arrived before my husband and I even got ours (one of which was just a coffee). We're hoping service improves soon, because this really is a great neighborhood spot that deserves more recognition. read more

I ordered the Brioche and got regular bread. Beware if ordering the French Toast. My wife's omelette came out cold, cheese was not melted. You could clearly see that it was not melted. It was my birthday weekend and we stayed at the hotel so we were able to charge our food to our room. Delicious meal but I was a little disappointed by my 'on the house' bday treat. It was a slice of red velvet cake that was rather small and nothing to rave over. I appreciated it for sure but probably would have rather ordered a dessert off the menu. Not full on a weekend dinner, but recommend to make reservations if possible. The food tasted great except it was a bit too salty for a few of them. Truffle fries - which I did not take photo - worth ordering as side to share. The in-house made ice cream was impressive. Reason for not five stars: - the wait between appetizer and entree was too long. We were pleasantly surprised by The Gallery! In my experience, hotel restaurants (even at nice hotels) put food quality low on the priority list, but not so here. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish. Especially if you're staying here (but even if you're not), The Gallery is worth a visit! The service was professional and the ambiance was good for really any occasion. The octopus appetizer: This was a generous portion of perfectly cooked octopus with a sauce flavored to perfectly accompany the delicate octopus flavor without overpowering it. Every bit as good as octopus dishes I've had in Portugal. Salmon entree: This was amazing. I was impressed they actually asked how we wanted the salmon cooked (medium), as it's a fine line with getting fish cooked to order vs. a steak. It did come out a perfect medium, with crisp, flavorful skin that wasn't overly salty. The sweetness of the puree paired perfectly with the delicate salmon flavors. We both got the salmon, and I'm glad we did, though now I'm curious about all the other entrees. Roasted mushrooms side: This was a good side to get with the salmon. The salmon does come with the puree and quinoa, but many may not feel like it's quite enough without having an additional side to share, so I'd recommend picking a side to share. The mushroom side was fairly large, so big enough to share. Mushrooms were fresh and had good flavor. read more

My family and I stayed at the Ballantyne hotel 2 nights ago and had a great experience. Unfortunately, we decided to get breakfast at the Gallery before continuing our travels at 8am. There were about 2-3 tables with customers at the restaurant, so it was a very slow morning. We were greeted and sat by the hostess and then crickets. Each of the 3 servers locked eyes with me, but no one came to greet us, give us waters, take our orders, etc. Another table walked in and was sat directly behind us and a server promptly greeted them, brought them waters, and started taking their order. We waited for about 5-10 minutes before the manager just so happened to be walking around. We told her what happened and she was very apologetic and told us she'd get someone over immediately. We ended up just leaving because it left such a bad taste in our mouths. We spent hundreds of dollars at the restaurant on room service the night prior. We spent hundreds of dollars to stay in the hotel the night prior. We expected much better service, and frankly have had better service at McDonalds than we had at this restaurant. We went in with our 3 year old and 10 month old and were dressed casually; the kids were very well behaved. Did the servers not think we would tip or would be too much to deal with? I don't know, but that's never happened to me before. My husband and I tip 30% everywhere we go, so it was definitely their loss. read more

The service continues to be impeccable here - but we sure wish they'd bring the chai oatmeal back... the pastry basket is a real treat on the weekends and the omelettes are always cooked to perfection. My son loves that the pancakes always come out with REAL maple syrup. I wish we could have more outdoor seating during the pretty fall days - overall, we do like to frequent the gallery. It's pricy, but it's really worth it for the great service and quality food that they provide (speaking for breakfast as the primary meal here). This is a really good restaurant for being in a hotel. They are known for their old fashioned and even have two whiskeys (makers mark and woodford) they are specially made for them. Went to brunch this morning with my parents and husband. The hostess was kind enough to clean a booth for us and it was extremely comfortable. I am 9 months pregnant so being comfortable to enjoy a meal is everything to me right now. I had a glass of tomato juice with a lime, it was very good. My husband had a cocktail endless summer and he loved it. My parents had a Bloody Mary and a classic mimosa all was enjoyed. Water service was really good. Moving on I ordered the build your own omelette and you got to choose 4 items. It was very good and I enjoyed it. Potatoes were good. My mom loved her classic eggs Benedict and said her eggs were perfectly poached. My dad enjoyed his build your own omelette as well. My husband said his chicken for his chicken and waffles was great but the waffles were just okay at best and I agreed. Kinda upset that I ordered the petite waffle side was not worth the calories for me even though they looked beautiful. Overall good service and it was packed in there. We came for brunch two days in a row. We liked the food so much the first day that we came back the second day. The atmosphere was great and elegant. Everything was very clean and they took every precaution with Covid. Let's talk about the first day first. Our server was great. She was very helpful and very nice. We received our food very quickly. The shrimp and grits were delicious. The two eggs special was decent. We also ordered drinks, one was a bloody mary, one was a mimosa and the last one was a screwdriver. None of these were very impressive. But it was nice to watch the golfers and it was just a good brunch. The second day is where we were disappointed. We sat in the same booth but had a different server. He was good as well but they were a little busier on the second day and we ended up waiting 50 minutes for our food to be served. I got the burger, which was fantastic. My boyfriend got the omelette and he was disappointed. I think we've had our feel of this place and probably won't be back. We decided to give this exclusive hotel's restaurant another shot for breakfast this year after perusing the annual gingerbread house competition outside its entrance. Since it is somewhat of a splurge, I am pleased to say that we had a delightful experience this time around. We were greeted warmly and immediately seated in their roomy and comfortable dining room. Our young waitress was friendly and attentive, as were everyone that served us. I went with the standard breakfast combo. For $12, it included two eggs, four pieces of perfectly prepared applewood bacon that was absolutely delicious, pan fried red fingerling potatoes and toast. My wife also really enjoyed her avocado toast which was beautifully plated. It ran $17. One very special extra was their housemade raspberry and orange jams, along with real butter. Our regular coffees were better than average and were faithfully refilled but, at $2.75, I must sound the beverage gouging alarm. Niceties such as raw sugar and fresh creme were generously supplied however. Unlike many places, coffee was more that an afterthought. The manager made regular rounds hobnobbing with guests, and checked on us twice. I'd say that the place is certainly well-managed, although the sanitation score was a surprisingly low 93 on this visit. Lunch and dinner are also served. It has been a while but we have enjoyed dinner on a prior visit. Overall, we were very happy with most everything. I am pleased to upgrade my prior three star rating to four. WOW. It's not often I write a review as soon as I get home but Gallery Restaurant really blew my tastebuds away tonight. I came here with a friend for the Queen's Feast Restaurant Week. The restaurant is located inside the Ballantyne Resort and has plenty of parking. We were greeted by a friendly host and was quickly seated. The restaurant has an upscale vibe and is filled with interesting and fun artwork. They even have some quirky wordplay on the menu to contribute to the Gallery theme. We both ordered the same main dish (Lamb Bolognese) and dessert (Chamomile Plum Bar) but different appetizers (Baked Oysters and Wagyu Beef Tartare) and shared. Everything was spectacular! The portions were huge and to be honest, I was stuff by the time the main course came. The experience also included surprise treats and bread that was not on the menu. The plating of the dishes was absolutely beautiful and looked meticulously curated. One of my favorite splurges is chasing Michelin Star restaurants with tasting menus and Gallery's plating resonated similar vibes. The only thing I would have enjoyed even more is if the Bolognese pasta was a little firmer but that's just a personal preference. As for the service, it was top-notch! Our server was attentive and very polite. I don't recall his name but I do remember he was from Ghana. This was not my first time to Gallery Restaurant. I've been here a couple years ago and left very disappointed and haven't been back. My friend chose Gallery this year for Restaurant Week and I'm so glad she did so I could give it another try. I've participated in restaurant week every year, trying multiple places within the ten days and I think Gallery Restaurant is now #1 on my list! read more

Amazing!!! Loved every bite! We do not typically visit high-end restaurants; however, tonight was a special occasion our 13th anniversary! This restaurant went all out to celebrate us! Instead of setting up the plates and utensils for us, the server handed them directly to us (there were just 3 of us and the table was really not that long that he couldn't reach). BTW he also asked us to hand our cups to him when filling in the water when the cups were totally reachable. 4. Waited for salmon for about 30 minutes after they realize that they didn't place the order. 5. While we were waiting, one guy came and started to collect our plates without saying anything, when he eyed me (again without saying anything) to hand over my plate, I asked him "are you changing our plates for the salmon", it was at that time when he realized that we are not done yet, I was really pissed off at that time. 6. This review is for afternoon tea. Absolutely wonderful service! The host and server were very kind to us. They seated us immediately upon arrival and our table was BEAUTIFUL! We had the white tea and the chamomile tea. Both were delicious. The food is where a star was lost. For tea time I would expect more than 1 scone each. It was mostly heavier desserts like cupcakes, cookies, and chocolate ganache. Although I do like all sweets I felt like they were just ok. The scone was AMAZING and I wished we had more... because why give a decent portion of lemon curd, Devonshire cream, and jam if you each have a lil scone? For $49 each plus auto added service charge I would expect more. Again, it was all very lovely and an excellent place to take someone for a special occasion!! It is a very nice experience. read more
