I made the appointment on February 12 after my visit with Dr. Thomas Jones 111. I had financial assistance with Physicians Eye for several years.. I am 80 years old and needed the assistance for several years. About 10 days before surgery I got a phone call from the office saying the office no longer offered financial assistance so I would have to pay over $300 on day of surgery. I cannot afford to pay that amount. I was very upset as I had waited for this surgery for so long and now they were calling to say they didn't have financial assistance anymore. I feel that since I had the assistance when the doctor okayed the surgery they should have done the surgery. I asked to speak to the billing department.They confirmed that they no longer had the assistance. After all the years I was a patient and considering without the surgery my vision is very impacted.

Even with a scheduled appointment, we waited over 45 minutes, and the front desk staff was rude and dismissive instead of apologetic. When we finally saw the doctor, the appointment felt rushed and careless. I did not feel confident in the results at all, and I left worried that my child's prescription might not even be correct. When I immediately asked to cancel the glasses order the same day, I was flatly refused with no clear explanation. What made this even worse was the complete lack of communication afterward. I called multiple times the same day and again the next day, but no one answered the phone or returned my calls. As a parent, being ignored when you are concerned about your child's vision is unacceptable. This experience caused a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety. I trusted this clinic with my child's eye care and left feeling unheard, dismissed, and deeply disappointed. I would never return and strongly warn other parents to look elsewhere.

I gave 2 stars because of the billing experience. Dr. Schmidt was wonderful, and the surgery nurses…read morehad excellent bedside manner. They made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure. Before my surgery, I was quoted a price weeks in advance and paid it in full. Unfortunately, I wasn't a candidate for LASIK, which was disappointing, but Dr. Schmidt was able to perform the procedure manually instead. Since the LASIK portion wasn't done, I was told the procedure should have cost about $2,000 less. At my follow-up appointment, I didn't see Dr. Schmidt. Instead, I saw another doctor after waiting nearly 40 minutes for an exam that lasted less than five minutes. When I asked about the $2,000 difference, I was told that I actually owed an additional $900 because a deductible had been applied after my original quote. This was extremely frustrating. If I had been informed before surgery that my out-of-pocket cost would increase by $900, I could have planned and budgeted accordingly. Instead, I was given one price, paid it upfront, and then was surprised with an unexpected bill afterward. The medical care itself was great, but the lack of transparency and communication about billing left me very disappointed.
