I have been a patient of Physicians eye for 16 years. I had an appointment scheduled for end of March to have several large floaters removed from my left eye. I made the appointment on February 12 after my visit with Dr. Thomas Jones 111. I had financial assistance with Physicians Eye for several years.. I am 80 years old and needed the assistance for several years. About 10 days before surgery I got a phone call from the office saying the office no longer offered financial assistance so I would have to pay over $300 on day of surgery. I cannot afford to pay that amount. I was very upset as I had waited for this surgery for so long and now they were calling to say they didn't have financial assistance anymore. I feel that since I had the assistance when the doctor okayed the surgery they should have done the surgery. I asked to speak to the billing department.They confirmed that they no longer had the assistance. After all the years I was a patient and considering without the surgery my vision is very impacted. read more

Not respectful of your time. Consistently run very late and don't seem concerned. Had a morning appointment today (9:30am) yet after waiting 30 minutes had not been seen. Dr is always late. I actually got forgotten about once. The receptionist never checked me in, too busy chatting. I am sitting here now, waiting for 30 minutes (yes, I do go and check). I get the feeling Dr osgood doesn't listen to concerns - he just blows them off as complaints or whatever. If I hadn't gotten my cataract surgery done here, I would go somewhere else. I have come here for over 25 years and Dr Jones (the dad) is a great Dr. But i am not coming back to give them another chance to have me wait in their waiting room for an hour. read more

In January of 2024, I went to see one of the physicians at this clinic. I made sure, my insurance was contracted with this clinic and doctor and I also obtained authorization from my insurance, before my appointment. The problem I went to see this doctor was minor, as he said, but I will need chataract surgery in the future. I paid my co-insurance $25 at the time of visit and my insurance also paid the allowed amount, except $70, as these charges were not allowed. Now the clinic is billing me for these charges, although my insurance EOB clearly states, I am responsible only for the $25 copay, what I already paid. When I called their billing office, they argued with me, I need to pay these charges, as I signed some paperwork at my visit. This clinic's billing office are clearly trying to bully patients into paying thsoe charges, what their insurance doesn't cover, due to their contract, which is against the law. Although the doctor recommended chataract surgery in the future, I will not go back, due to their unlawful billing practice. Also, this doctor tried to talk me into choosing the more expensive surgery, what insurance wouldn't cover, costing me $5000 each eye, what I wouldn't be able to afford. Rude receptionist, who is quoting "Don't Mam me, and pay $296 for appointment", when being questioned for why do you need my full social for fixing appointment. Any vision insurance is linked with last 4 social, and not full social. Pay upfront for appointment is my first experience in healthcare. Never got to see doctor. Front desk people can't figure out how to do their job so I left. While leaving another patient was upset because his appointment was 2.5 hours ago and he was still waiting. I could hear him yelling until the front door closed. Definitely made the right choice to find a better eye clinic. Found one 10 min away in silverlake. Glad I left. read more

What is the point in filling out new patient paperwork to update your address and phone number if they don't transcribe the information from the paper to the computer? I went into the clinic back in June, followed up a week later with a phone call asking about my contact lens. I was told I would be called when it came in, and I once again gave them my new phone number that was earlier included on the form. Fast forward to October and I get a bill to almost my address - not quite - but close enough that the post man was able to find me. There's a bill saying I owe X dollars, it's 120 days old - and on the bill there was a note saying it was sent to my old address. Why did they send it to my old address? Unfortunately it's because their office is not well organized. I suppose the doctor and his clinical staff were OK, but merely OK. (Dr. S at Smokey Point TEC is better) read more

I just had my first cataract eye surgery done with Dr. Luth. I can't say enough how wonderful all the staff were and so appreciated Dr. Luth telling me as he started the surgery what the procedure was, that definitely helped my blood pressure go down :) From check in to check out they took extra precautions to making sure the office was sanitized, staff had all the PPE they needed and I was gowned. Appointment was an hour late for my dad with limited mobility. Front chairs are so broken down that we watched two elderly patients struggling to stand and the staff just watched without helping. The office is dirty and very out of date. Front desk efficient upon check-in. Ridiculously long wait in lobby. Appt was at 3:15 and I didn't get called back until 4:05, when I threatened to leave and needed my co-payment back. I checked with the front desk twice during that time, only to be told he was running about 30 min behind and I'd be called back soon. I could see and hear a room full of MAs right beside the lobby. I got no apology or explanation from the MA. Dr Leuth (Sr) was apologetic. He did his thorough exam. Basically two hours of my day spent in this office to get a routine eye exam. I was expected to wear an (anti-Covid) mask on during this whole time, I might add. Searching for a new Ophthalmologist for next year's exam. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Lueth for 15 or more years. I have never met a Dr. more personable so it makes ones appt. even nicer. He's very professional and knowledgeable. About 3 years ago he examined an eruption on my lower eye lid and "promptly" urged me to to go a specialist for Mohs surgery. It was cancer. He did my cataract surgery. Even though he was my regular Dr. I researched who were the best Drs. for this. He came up as top. It was amazing the difference I experienced afterwards. Amazing ! My actual experience with Dr. Jones was 4 stars. Pleasant, thorough, answered all my questions. However, this is what I do have a problem with. I scheduled an appointment for a routine annual eye exam for 8:30 am, appointment unfolded as follows. - 8:30 am - Arrive at the Clinic and check in at Front Desk. - 8:45 am - Sit in waiting room after completing paperwork, insurance info. - 8:55 am - Get called into an exam room, by one of the assistants who does most of the prep work, air puff, vision test. - 9:10 am - Sit in another waiting room, waiting for the doctor. - 9:25 am - Get called in by another assistant to the doctor's office/room - 9:35 am - Doctor FINALLY comes in to complete the exam. - 9:43 am - Doctor hands me off to the eye glasses/contacts store lady. - 10:05 am - Finished with Contacts fitting, on my way to my office. That's over 1.5 hours folks! For 7 minutes with the doctor and 15 minutes with prep assistant. Are you serious??? Apparently my time has absolutely no value to you. Unless you streamline you appointment process and start respecting other people's time I will not be coming back :-( read more

I had eye surgery here and I couldn't be happier with both my experience at Physicians Eye Clinic and my surgical outcome! Tammy is a gem! From my first conversation with her, via phone, she helped to alleviate my fears from the get-go which enabled me to proceed with getting the surgery. Tammy also has a wonderful sense of humor and helps to put people at ease, both on the phone, and in person. She was definitely a huge part of getting me to follow through with getting my eye surgery done. Dr. Leuth was so gentle, kind and always receptive to answering any and all questions I had. Dr. Leuth also did my surgery. He was so amazing! As were all the many other team members who were also part of making this such a great experience for me: Billi, Angelina, Natasha, Jen, and Jodi - they were all so awesome! Overall, I was so touched by the genuine kindness and care that I received from EVERYBODY at Physicians Eye Clinic. I'm going to validate what the other reviewers are saying by stating that my own experience with Dr. Lueth was more akin to a four star review than the two starts I'm giving this business as a whole. The reason for this, is that I not only had my lasik at Physicians Eye Clinic, but also a fraxel procedure and my mother had a free fraxel the top of her hands after she won a prize at an one of the free fraxel information sessions. My eye surgery at Physicians was great. I'm grateful to the nurse named Chris who calmed me down and got me through the surgery which was surprisingly painless (because I followed directions and took medications faithfully). Everything was explained to me, including that the clinic would contact me periodically to schedule appointments as part of my lasik package. And so, after my first eye checkup one week later, I was ready to give a five star review. Unfortunately, I was patient enough to wait. I should have seen that history often repeats itself at that clinic. My sister had her lasik surgery there as well, and my mother had a eye surgery years ago as well. What happened with my sister was that they completely forgot to notify her when the the last lasik care package eye check up should be scheduled (the last check up is after half a year to check how your eye is working post-surgery. But they tell you they're going to contact you and time flies fast). And so, because they didn't notify her she didn't call. Suspicious about why she hadn't heard from them she called them and found out that one year had passed and they were not willing to give her a check up even though it was their mistake for not contacting her. And that just happened to me. Today I called them because I received a post card telling me to call and schedule an appointment and guess what? When I called, the receptionist assumed I wanted to make a paid check up that wasn't part of my lasik package. I was confused and upon digging I found out they didn't even call us to make the final appointment! In her words "It's your responsibility to make the appointment, even if we don't call you." Really? What's the purpose of a reminder then? You gave me a reminder before, you even set up the first appointment and now it's my responsibility? Not even a re-schedule since it was your fault you admitted you didn't call me? Some customer service history... To add insult to injury there's the fraxel fiasco with Kandis. I'm not even sure what I was thinking back then. Looking back, she knew how to talk. Really. She stated she had many years of experience, specializing on ethnic skin and giving scary warnings that unless someone knew what they were doing I would run a serious risk of burning my skin off in horrible ways. However, she isn't a doctor, nor a dermatologist. And all you'll see in the waiting room wall are certifications to handle lasers and SkindMedica awards. SkinMedica is cosmetics company--that only means she's selling a lot of their material. I saw Kandis because I had acne scars I wanted to fix and I had my acne under control back then. I took one of her "Menus" and selected a fraxel package for a large cheek area (the small area only covers cheekbones...that should have been a warning sign) with several post facials. I attended a fraxel presentation they had at the clinic and got a discount for the package, and my mom won a prize that was converted into a fraxel session to get rid of the brown age spots that were appearing on her hands. Overall, I thought I had a great deal, with Kandis constantly reminding me that we could stop anytime if I wasn't satisfied. So I had my first fraxel session. With my skin peeling off my face I began to notice that not only my face was looking clearer...but I was breaking out harder than when I was 14. Painful pustules and whiteheads began to appear all over my face, especially concentrating along my jawline. My mother's free fraxel was done without a cream anesthesia and she only told me after the surgery, when her hands looked like they got a bad sunburn that it was extremely painful (they used the cream for my face, but my mom got nothing). Her hands have wrinkled up horribly. I needed to visit my grandma in Peru so I left, but after I did I went back my previous acne regimen and my face started getting under control (it's not completely in control as it was before) and my skin is extremely sensitive to sunlight now. After I came back to Washington I wanted my money back. And guess what? Because I got a super duper deal with discounts and all, instead of charging me for the one fraxel procedure at the value I paid for, they "unpacked" the package and charged me full price. Meaning for that one procedure I completed they charged more than I paid for it and gave me the rest back (one month later when they stated one week later). The lesson: They're good with eyes, but don't expect customer service after the surgery. Don't get fraxel from them. read more

I've had a near wonderful experience with the center and Dr Jones has been great. I went in with a misdiagnosis provided by another location and he properly diagnosed the problem and then went about solving it. We went thru using medications and then ultimately had to have surgery. Even during the COVID-19 shut down they worked with me to ensure the medications were working and not allowing me to lose my vision due to offices being closed. The entire staff, from the front office to the back office, have been good natured and kept me informed as needed for any time delays (when they have occurred). We all have to remember to be patient when going into any medical facility as there are new protocols to follow that add time to every appt. I will say that the center has reduced the number of appts to accommodate for the new protocols. Again great service! read more

If you need eye surgery this is the place to receive the surgery. My journey began with the VA in Seattle WA. I could not see out of my left eye and though my right eye could pass the test I was blind in the left. This began last fall and when this became a problem I stopped driving or should say I refused to drive. I did not want to injure anyone. The VA had in place a program called "The Veterans Choice Program." The Physicians Eye Clinic/ Surgery Center evaluated me then did surgery on my eye. The doctor informed me that I had substantial mass or a cataract thick enough to blind an eye following the surgery. The doctor and staff are great and the teamwork was exceptional. This organization gets two thumbs up! You will trust them, I do. read more

My husband and I both went in to the Dr. just to get our vision checked. We both wear readers, I had Lasik done years ago but my husband had never been to the eye Dr. Our appt went much like the others, long wait, moved from room to room. We didn't get handed off to buy glasses even though I had mentioned that I was interested in progressive lens'. No big deal (ordered them from Zenni) but I had to ask the Dr to write my prescription, I am glad I did because he would not have given it to me. My biggest complaint is that it cost $296.00 for each of us out of pocket. They billed our insurance and were paid $105.00 for each of us.The total cost for my husband and I was $592.00. How could it possibly cost $300 to see an eye Dr.? Scandalous, greedy and we wont be back. Maybe they over charge because they only get one time customers? Update: I was not surprised that I needed to pay more than my insurance paid, although we have exceptional insurance and unless its the deductible, our portion is pretty minimal. Yes, I can appreciate longevity good on you.If the industry standard is $300 an hour, it is excessive. I am just letting others know there are other choices in Everett for your eye care needs. read more

I am the type of person who is quite afraid of anyone getting near my eyes. That being said . . . I have to say that Dr. Jones was as thorough as I could possibly ask. He gave me a complete description of what was going to happen before it happened, and everything occurred exactly as he described. His staff could see that I was somewhat anxious about the process and thus couldn't have been more comforting and professional than they were. The process was pain-free and far quicker that I imagined. Dr. Jones and his staff even called me at home on more than one occasion to ensure that I was doing well after the procedure. I had a consult to have lasik done by Dr Jones and was unimpressed to say the least. The equipment was state of the art 15 years ago and the place smelled bad. After going through the initial screening I waited 45 minutes to see the doctor before finally walking out. I can't speak to the results of the surgery because I was never seen. To spend 2 hours in a place and never to see the doctor was completely unacceptable to anyone who took time off work for the free consult. read more

I had lasik done here by Dr. Jones 3 years ago at age 49. He bullied me into doing one eye as my 'reading' eye and the other as my 'distance' eye. I told him I had tried this with contacts and it didn't work, but he insisted. Sure enough, everything was blurry. I demanded a revision, had to go through the pain twice. The day of surgery was HORRIBLE pain both times but I don't know why. .Thank God for the opioid crisis and street corner percoset. Went back weeks later for my checkup after revision and I told him there was something wrong with my left eye. He angrily dismissed my concern with 'It just has to heal!" Total arrogant jerk. I refused to go back after that. 3 years later I have permanent dry eye in my left eye and my reading vision is continuing to decline. Distance vision is eh, OK. Stable at least. Bottom line: I'm not blind, thankfully, but I'd never recommend him to anyone who values their sight. I did not have a good experience there at all, from the semi-rude check in staff to the nurse who put in 2 molecules of numbing drops before the doc started ripping my retina flap open again. My review is for some laser skin treatments i received from the Aesthetician, Kandis Henkel. i received such great care from Kandis and she explained what to expect, after care and she even called me the day after Thermal- Frax to check on me. Yes, i was swollen, red and hurting but since Kandis did such a great job explaining the post effects to me, i was prepared. I had YAG laser surgery today by Dr. Jones, Jr. and I am so pleased with the whole experience. I am a retired registered nurse so I tend to be picky when choosing doctors. Dr. Jones was professional and personable, willing to answer my questions without making me feel rushed. The office is immaculate and every person I made contact with was warm and helpful. The YAG procedure went well and I already can notice a big improvement in my vision in the eye that was done today. My time with the doctor was fine. But there is a LOT of sitting and waiting,being moved around and listening to employee gossip. Other than the front desk staff which are very friendly, I have not found any of the other back office staff to be very friendly or welcoming, or even have a smile, in fact they come across as unhappy or subtly angry. On many occasions one individual in particular, calls you back without a hello and then strides off in a hurry leaving the patient behind to guess what room she went into and then belittles my questions. I guess my biggest concern and annoyance is listening to groups of employees gossiping while you just sit and wait and wonder why they have so much time on their hands. I have heard things that have no place in a medical office. Those staff in the back need better supervision and more things to do. read more

I had a wonderful experience with surgery on both eyes. The surgery nurses were phenominal. They were friendly, caring, and responsive to every need. I was very impressed! The only negative are the girls that work in the office for exams and post op. They treat you as if you are an inconvenience and interupting the very loud personal conversations they have in the back hall. They don't smile and are a bit abrasive. I've seen both Dr. Jones and Dr Lueth. I think they are both excellent Doctors. Both are personable, pleasant and very knowledgeable however. .. I had to wait over 45 minutes once and over an hour the last time. They have some scheduling practices in this office that are crazy. My new husband recommended this place to me. After the second time I had to wait for over an hour I told him I wasn't going there ever again. He said he has been going to this clinic for over 20 years and just knows every time he goes there he will have a long wait and is use to it. I think it's very rude to make people wait this long for your services. It is not something I am willing to get use to. read more

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I needed a prior authorization for the medication that was prescribed and the staff used the wrong form. Not their fault. However, they would not check to find out why the insurance company had not been able to approve their request. They said they had done everything when in fact they had not redone the request on the new form a day and half after it had been sent to them by the insurance company. Katy at the front desk told me it was not important because my situation is not "life or death." It is not. It is very painful though. My pharmacy called them to see if they needed help and they hung up on them. It has been five days since my doctor's visit and I do not have a prescription.
