My wife and I have been going Everett Optometry Clinic for years to purchase frames. Recently, we decided to also get our exams done here. Everett Optometry Clinic is an independent clinic which means they are not affiliated with the Everett Clinic or Providence (no MyChart). Dr. Kahsai is an in-network provider for Premera Blue Cross. Dr. Kahsai is patient, thorough and detailed in is exams and explanations. Everett Optometry Clinic bills my insurance company on my behalf. Preventative eye and vision exams are billed at $301. Everett Optometry Clinic offers the latest in technology, from the exams to their hardware. Frames are expensive; however, the frames are trendy, unique and tres chic. I absolutely adore all of my frames that I have purchased (I have quite a few). The cost of my frames this year was $450 + $351 for the lenses. Lenses are well worth the cost due to the advanced technology. I was amazed at the difference between the lenses purchased here and the lenses purchased at Costco (same RX too). Allow about 7-10 business days for glasses to be ready for pick-up. Each pair of glasses comes with a hard case (except Oakley's). Each pair of glasses also comes with a micro-fiber cloth and a small bottle of cleaner In the event that I need an adjustment or pads added to my glasses, I know that I can drop into Everett Optometry Clinic free of charge for my adjustments. I am truly upset and disappointed with our experience at Eye Doctors of Everett. This visit was for my child, and from start to finish it was extremely frustrating and stressful. Even with a scheduled appointment, we waited over 45 minutes, and the front desk staff was rude and dismissive instead of apologetic. When we finally saw the doctor, the appointment felt rushed and careless. I did not feel confident in the results at all, and I left worried that my child's prescription might not even be correct. When I immediately asked to cancel the glasses order the same day, I was flatly refused with no clear explanation. What made this even worse was the complete lack of communication afterward. I called multiple times the same day and again the next day, but no one answered the phone or returned my calls. As a parent, being ignored when you are concerned about your child's vision is unacceptable. This experience caused a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety. I trusted this clinic with my child's eye care and left feeling unheard, dismissed, and deeply disappointed. I would never return and strongly warn other parents to look elsewhere. read more

They charge your insurance company over $300 and still charge you for the initial exam. They quoted me $800 plus for glasses. Nothing special, just regular glasses. Then when I decided not to buy them there they sent me a bill. I wouldn't recommend this business! Rip off!!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Everett Optometry Clinic. I've been going to Dr. Rachel Spillane for two years and have nothing but good things to say about her and her staff. Having a condition that can affect my eyesight, I visit the clinic twice a year. The technology used by the clinic is advanced and Dr. Spillane takes the time to explain the results, showing me the output of the tests. The technicians are kind and patient, and I have found the front desk staff very conscientious. One took the time to call me back when she had found she gave me incorrect information about an upcoming appointment. I am very glad to have found this eye clinic. read more

I've been seeing (pun!) Dr. Kahsai for a couple of years now for my eyesight. When I first came in, things were really bad for my eyes. I had been to two other eye doctors who had missed the problem in my eye and had given me prescription glasses that were waaaaaay off, just really wrong. Dr. Kahsai found my problem immediately ~ it was CSC, fluid pressure inside my eyeball in layman's terms. Who knew that stress can cause you to lose your eyesight?! Any way I bring my kids here now for checkups, and won't go anywhere else. It's true that it's not the cheapest option to get prescription glasses but the lenses are super high quality and they have a very nice variety of really cute albeit sometimes expensive frames. The ones I usually like are from France and I justify the price because they live on my face. I was really miserable before I came here because I couldn't see! I would like to take a moment to say that I very much enjoyed my experience at Everett Optometry. I used to go to a place in Lynnwood, but since I've moved to Lake Stevens, I needed something a bit closer. The staff at this office are incredible. Every single one of them made me feel welcome and every single one of them made me feel like I was the only person they were working with. Dr. Kasai (spelling?) is friendly and attentive and took a lot of time out of his day to find the right contacts for me and the staff that helps you with the glasses listened to my wants and needs and provided me with enough options to have a choice, but not too many where I would get confused. The frames I decided on were a recommendation from one of the front desk ladies and I have really happy with them. The prescription is perfect for my double astigmatism! I have been seeing Dr. Church for years for my eye care. The clinic has the latest technology for eye diagnostics and has on site services for glasses and contacts. Dr. Church has always been spot on with my prescription and although on the pricey side, my glasses have withstood the abyss of the purse on many occasion. I thought I would be thrifty and hit up Costco for my eye exam last year... Big MISTAKE! I should have known when the Ophthalmologist said that all id needed was readers - I'm not even 40 - Why the **** would I need readers. So after using the readers for about 3 months, having headaches and ongoing blurred vision (I am squinting right now to write this review), I went back to Dr. Church. The Clinic was able to book my appointment for the next morning and i was impressed by the latest tech. Along with the typical eye exam, the clinic has Retinal Photography as a part of their standard care. The RP shows the health of your retina and macular area in your eye. They can check for all sorts of health issues with this photo. I paid extra ($39) to have Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). It "is a new imaging technique that provides unprecedented high resolution and cross-sectional images of the eye." It's not covered by insurance and I don't think that I really needed it at my age, but i wanted to get a baseline for when I'm old. I am glad that I went back and will continue for all my future eye exams. read more

I've been coming here for the past 6 years, and have always had exceptional service and very fair out of pocket prices after I've used up my vision insurance allowance for the year. They are understanding of people's financial restraints which I appreciate. I typically see Dr. Church for my annual exams, but have also seen Dr. Schrader on occasion for some acute inections/eye injuries who is also great. (He's a wazzu alum so of course he's GREAT! Go cougs!) Also, I went in on this past Monday with a few concerns about my contacts (on a whim, no appointment) and Gloria, one of the paraoptometrics, really helped me out by asking one of the doctors a question and getting me trial lenses. It probably seemed like a small thing to her, but I was very thankful. All in all, I really recommend this clinic. I've lived in Seattle for the past 4 years but I'm always willing to make the hour round trip drive to come here because they have been so good to me. read more

I will say I love the doctor of this location. The office staff leave something to be desired. I put lenses in three glasses. I needed to take the transition lenses out of my glasses for my job, in which I will be serving the community. I wasnt able to go because of work, but I called in. They were very rude on the phone, but thought maybe it's just busy. I send my wife to drop off the glasses and they started that's why I should be there, and gave her great attitude. I might add that I did everything over the phone, and was told she just had to drop them off. This office needs more training in customer service before they lose more people. I called to get a broken nose pad on my glasses reattached. I was talked to friendly and told I did not need an appointment just to stop by as they would only take about 5-10 minutes to fix this for me. I also asked if they would adjust my backup pair of glasses a bit while I was there. She told me they would. I arrived a few hours later and called from the parking lot as the sign on the door instructed. A rude young woman answered the phone and kept asking me where I was even though she could clearly see me standing by the door. She seemed annoyed when I explained my need for a repair and the prior phone conversation. She took my temperature and then without saying anything pulled out a bottle of chemicals and sprayed my right hand and sleeve of my coat with them. When I asked,"What was that?" She told me angrily, "Hand sanitizer, everybody needs it!" I have extremely sensitive skin and did not appreciate this at all. I noticed they have gel hand sanitizers on a table just inside the door or you could wash your hands in the bathroom as it says on the website. I was not offered these options just sprayed down. I was then ordered "sit down and I'll add you to the appointment schedule!" She then walked away. When she came back to the desk I explained to her I was told I didn't need an appointment, just wanted a nose pad back on my glasses she told me rudely," you talked to me before and I have your name." I have been going to the Everett Optometry Clinic since 1999. I have never been treated so poorly by the office staff before. My entire family goes here. I was going to schedule my annual eye exam appointment but am unsure if I want to go back after this rude treatment. I'm giving it two stars because another lady did come out of the back and fix my glasses for free and adjust the earpiece. I absolutely did not appreciate the unknown chemical spray down and am still unhappy about the treatment I was given. I have not decided if I should find a new clinic for my family to go to. I will await their response. The young woman had long dark hair and wore glasses. She sat at the very front desk and I thought I overheard her name was Kayla or something similar. I will add that After Dr Church retired I have seen Dr Spillane and my family is very pleased with the doctors there so it will be a shame for the five of us to have to find a new eye doctor to see but I am very upset at the rude treatment. read more

We had a very positive experience during our visit here. We booked back-to-back appointments so we could each take turns watching our son while the other was in their appointment. They made sure to keep our waits/appointments brief so we could get on with our day. We found cute frames within our insurance budget (we have VSP) and were not up-sold on anything we didn't feel that we needed. The eye doctor is great but the office staff is short and sometimes downright rude. I went back for 2 years for the doctor but I will be switching. I was told I would get a $60 if I purchased a year worth of contacts and that the office would submit it for me. It was going to be a visa gift card and could take 6-8 weeks. Called after 8-10 weeks of not receiving and they told me I should've gotten a form when I picked up my contacts and I had to submit it. The cutoff to submit the rebate form is passed and I doubt the contact company will provide me a rebate now. The contact lens fitting fee is also astronomically high. read more

I've only needed glasses over the last few years and, as a working professional, it's important those glasses are not only functional, but also stylish. One thing about this practice that I appreciate is their good selection of eyeglass frames. As I was perusing after my appointment (yes, after -- no eye dilation here -- woo hoo!), I found several styles I really liked, and the optician was extremely helpful in helping me choose the one that best fit my face. As I mentioned, my eyes did not have to be dilated for my exam, which was great! They use all digital imaging that you get to see too, so it's really nice to be able to look at your eyeball and have the optometrist explain what they're seeing and how your eye looks. I saw Dr. Church and he was very friendly, warm, knowledgeable, and patient as I was trying to decide whether 1 or 2 looked better (can I see 1 again please?). He also was very thorough in asking me how I would be using my glasses -- on the computer, driving, reading, etc. This assisted him in making additional recommendations to me as to whether or not to add magnification or not or how else I can make my lenses work best for how I'll use them. I'd never had that experience before with an eye doctor, so I was pleased to have that kind of attentiveness. My glasses were ready a week after I chose them and the follow up to help me make sure they fit correctly and that I can see okay was good. If you need glasses and/or an eye exam, I definitely recommend this practice. read more

Dr. Mylee Nguyen was great- nice, pleasant, informative, competent, and thorough. The woman who helped me pick out frames was very accommodating, answering my questions and making good suggestions, and ultimately finding exactly the right pair at the right price. My family and I have been checked up by Dr Church for many years now. All I can say is Dr Church and Dr Schrader along with there staff are nothing short of professionals. When it comes to our eye health and selecting the appropriate eye ware, this place is a no brain-er. Why would you not select a professional eye doctor over a warehouse or grocery store for something so important as your eye sight? The Dr's support team has obviously been in the business for a long time. I can count on the staff to take the time and do the job right , answer my questions, give me sound advice and handle most repair issues right on the spot .We have never been treated with disrespect, not once.Quality of customer service has never been an issue for us; we always look forward to seeing the Dr's and the lovely ladies who work with us. Sorry Nicole S had an unexpected surprise on price. It sounded like the lenses were made special and the frames she picked out were not suitable for the fit or type of lenses she needed. She really should have had a better understanding of what is covered by her insurance company before shopping. Our insurance is good but it has restrictions and if we chose a frame and lens in the upper quality category, we end up having to pay out of pocket. I would imagine the optical technician who helped Nicole new this up front and indicated this to her. What helps to eliminate frustration is planning ahead before shopping. This is one of the hardest reviews I have every written. The reason is that Dr. Church is one of the best, if not the best optician I have seen in my 44 years I have been wearing glasses. He is not only courteous, respectful, and pleasant, but the glasses I got back last week are the best I have ever really had. It is my first time wearing bifocals, and I feel like I am seeing for the first time in 15 years - and that is a big deal. I don't know if it is the fancy new machinery that he uses to get so precise, or if he is really that good, but these are the best I could ask for. With that said... The assistants when I came back to get my glasses were unbelievably mean and rude. When I first put on my glasses, I could not believe how well I could read, and kept saying "Wow, these are great." The technician, without asking how the glasses felt, took them off my face and walked away. I figured she could tell they were just slightly high on the left side. When she came back and put them on me, they were SO tight, I was absolutely perplexed. I tried to show her they were too tight, and she sort of cocked her head, and said she should "put them back to where they were." Oh, OK, I thought. (???) I told her they were just a little too high on the left. She again left, and when she came back they were indeed just like they were in the beginning - just slightly too high on the left. I mentioned this, and she ASKED what I wanted her to do. Really? I said, well, I guessed I could go have someone else adjust them for me, and began to leave. I did not know what else to do since she was clearly hostile. She replied, "Well, Idon't know what else to do. I think you just don't like your glasses." REALLY?? I picked them out. I told you how amazing they were when I first put them on. All they needed was to be a little less high on the left. In al my years of wearing glasses, it has usually taken 2-3 times to make adjustments - usually three. Sometimes more. But you were SO put off by the fact that you had to adjust them more than once, and the adjustment you did was so crazy "off," and you never even asked how they felt... What are you doing there? You do such a huge disservice to Dr. Church - it really is a huge shame. Would I go back there again? I had to think about it because it is really great to have a good optometrist, and Dr. Church is such a nice guy. But no. Of course not. Who needs that kind of nasty rude mean treatment? There was no reason to treat someone with such a snotty nasty negative attitude,. And for what? Oh, I might add... when I first got there, I had to stand at the counter for the "girls" to finish their personal conversation, and they were not overly friendly, either. Not such a big deal, but when I sat down, they helped an older gentleman who came to pick up HIS glasses, as if he were the prince of Everett. Thanks. You guys really suck. I have been going to see Dr. Schrader for years at Everett Optometry. He is the nicest man and always does a great job in my eye appointments. After my last visit, it was suggested that I try "working" bifocals by the staff who sit down to go over glasses options. I was optimistic that I could wear these glasses while working on the computer and also when I would look away into the distance. After several attempts to get them into focus, I declined to take them. I am still very disappointed in the lack of education and consideration when the bifocal glasses didn't work out. If I have been advised at the beginning of the transaction that if they don't work out for me, there will be no credit or refund, I would not have purchased them. They cost me hundreds of dollars and there was no refund, compassion or offer for even the smallest of credit toward a future pair. To make things worse, I referred my husband to your office as well to try the bifocals too and they did not work out for him either but, because he didn't want to be out of the money as well, he brought his home and they will sit on the table reminding us of our poor decisions. I love Dr. Schrader but we will be trying Costco for our glasses in the future. I won't be referring my clients to this office either because no one can afford to lose money like that. I read the response. it just clarifies my statement of discrimination. A limited number of appointments means you are treating this coverage differently than you would another coverage or cash payment. Also Washington Apple Health has only been in existence since January 1st so your claim of it changing monthly does not make any sense. There has only been one new month since its existence. I will keep the same plan and benefits until December. My guess is you get paid less through Apple Health and that is the real reason why the limited appointments. read more

My wife and I have been wearing glasses for 40 years and with the exception of a pair rolled over by our car, have never had a broken pair. We have always used Costco, but I decided to use my vision insurance from work. Result...my wife's glasses separated twice when a tiny weld gave out. First time was handled. 2nd time we were told they would only give us 30 percent off a new pair. They even said they had no way of knowing if the glasses were mishandled---in effect questioning our integrity. 2nd---after insurance we paid substantially more than twice as much as we would have paid at Costco without insurance. The same day we were refused, we got a note suggesting it was time for a new vision checkup. Bad news. read more

It had been a year since the last time I had my eyes checked so I made an appointment here because it was so close to my house. When I walked in I was greeted by one of the girls that works up front and asked to fill out some info as it was my first time coming in. I was a little early so I had a sometime to browse there frame selection before I was called back for my eye exam. I was surprised how many choices for sunglasses they had and how many major brand names that were available. The last eye clinic I had been to didn't even sell sunglasses so I was stoked! When I was called back one of the girls ran some pre-tests before I was seen by the doctor. Bonus for dudes coming into this place because all the girls that work here are hot and super nice. Dr. Church was way cool and made the exam a lot more fun then I thought it would be. As expected my eye sight was pretty bad so I began checking out some glasses. I had my first appointment with Dr Church a couple of weeks ago. The staff was extremely friendly, on the phone and in person. When I checked in, (I arrived 10 minutes early), they only had me waiting 2 minutes before she pulled me back into a room to get me started. The visit went very quickly and there wasn't much waiting between the time the receptionist/assistant left and Dr Church came in. The staff explained my benefits in a manner that I can understand and were very helpful and knowledgable. In regards to the woman below, who gave one star because they are not contracted with their insurance: Apple Health is state funded insurance. It HAS been around longer than one month. The name however is new. The Apple Health name has only been around one month, but it used to be known as DSHS or ProviderOne. The state DOES change patient's plans from month to month, unfortunately. So it would be reasonable that this office will only book appointments for patients during that month. Just an FYI that your facts are wrong. All in all, I had a great visit here and I will be back. I ordered my contacts on a Friday and received a call by Tuesday that they were available for pick up. Staff was not friendly at all, I would even go so far as to say a bit rude. Not sure if it was because I am Latino, or on basic health...or both. I am a student and needed to get my eyes checked after having trouble reading far away but this place is a classic example of health professionals who won't ask you any extra questions if they don't feel they will get $$ in return. I tried talking to the assistant who received me about my past health and all she did was shrug and say 'wow' (as if multiple open surgeries and health complications could have nothing to do with my current vision issues). Finally the doctor, Dr Kahsai took my information and found me the right prescription. He was the only friendly person I found in the place. Never was I asked any further questions from staff after the exam-nobody even tried to explain my health benefits to me and how I would be billed or what the glasses cost would be. Dr. Schrader is the best! he really takes the time to explain things to you and makes sure you understand everything. He is very sweet. He really cares about his patient's. I wont go anywhere else he is the best. When we went out to pick frames the gentleman was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO patient. first with me and working with me on what i wanted and instead of hiding the closeout glasses like some clinics do he showed them to me and when it came to my husbands pair we took forever to pick one out but he was so patient and kept helping us i really appreciated it! i really love this clinic read more

Had my appointment yesterday for an eye exam and the doc diagnosed my astigmatism, which was missed in my previous exams (or maybe my eyes changed; not sure). They took the time to talk to me and answer my questions... great experience, overall! Looking at the info I was provided on the glasses/lenses, it appears that they carry crizal lenses/coatings, but not sure which type when I was cross-referencing the crizal website. Would be nice if they had more clear infomation on the specific brand/type of lenses and coatings they offer. read more

I made my annual trek to the Clinic to have my eyes checked and get a new pair of glasses. Actually the location is very easy to get to with it's own parking area. I love how the clinic offers the best technology available as a choice and is respectful of incurring costs. The technicians and staff are pleasant and very efficient. I had the new doctor, Dr. Kip, conduct my examination and I think she is an excellent addition to their group. My favorite part is always selecting my new glasses; I always get great advice. The technicians help me in selecting something that reflects who I am and is extremely flattering to my face shape. They also take a look at my old glasses and readjust them for me if needed. My glasses were broken and I needed to order a new supply of a specially made contacts so I searched for a Dr who would accept my insurance and found Everett Optometry Clinic. The building is in very nice condition - it is clean, well decorated, friendly and modern. Dr Church was great! He was friendly, he did not make me feel like I was failing my eye exam like some doctors do. He tweaked my prescriptions and although he did not have a contract with the company that made my exact lenses, they were able to have a pair made by a different company that was $150 cheaper! The nurse was also very sweet and the equipment they had was modern and well maintained. They had a very nice selection of 'designer frames and sunglasses and the prices were too high. I found a lovely pair of frames that I am excited to wear! Unfortunately this is where my experience changed...the woman who helped me was very rude and condescending during our entire transaction. I picked out a pair of frames that I liked and when I put them on for me she just said "No" and made a strange comment about my pupil size. She then asked me 2 questions about my favorite color and the color of my clothes, got up and picked out about 6 pairs of frames I already knew I didn't want. Finally I told her I wanted the ones that she said no to and she looked at them, made a face and said that she could maybe look and see if they had a smaller size (they were a bit big but my sister was there with me and we both agreed on them!) Fortunately they did have a smaller size so now I am very happy with the frames I chose! The ordering part was even worse...my insurance covers my exam, lenses and $150 of my frame choice...so the only thing I was going to pay out of pocket was the remainder of my frames. I don't even know how it happened but all of a sudden she had me paying $130 out of pocket just from the lenses! When I told her to take off all the fancy things she added, that I just wanted what my insurance covered, she was very condescending for the rest of the time I was with her. When when my glasses finally arrive (it has been about 2 weeks since I was there and I still don' have them) I will be looking closely before I pay for anything. I will definitely go back to Dr. Church (as long as my prescription ends up ok) and their selection and prices are good so I would get frames again as long as there were someone else there I could work with.
