Great customer service with knowledgable and friendly staff. Our family of four see Dr. Karrick, who works well with young children too.

On April 10, 2025, I had a highly disappointing experience at Eye Associates Northwest in Edmonds,…read moreWA, with Dr. Ted Zollman. Despite some positive aspects, the overall visit was marred by significant issues that overshadowed any redeeming qualities. I was genuinely impressed by the scheduler's dedication. When I called to book an appointment for one doctor, the scheduler spent considerable time verifying my VSP insurance details and confirming which doctors were in-network to ensure I had no out-of-pocket costs. I was so impressed that I shared this experience with others, as I had never encountered such a thorough scheduler before. After my initial experience I was optimistic about how this would likely go. However, the positive impression ended there. Upon arrival I confirmed with the that I would have no out-of-pocket costs. Unfortunately, the appointment quickly went downhill. I didn't realize they had sent me an email with forms to fill out prior to the visit. When I arrived, I was handed what felt like a "bible" of forms to complete. As a compliance lawyer, I found the volume of paperwork excessive, especially since it omitted critical information like potential out-of-pocket charges. This lack of transparency was frustrating and felt like more than an oversight. The office was experiencing an internet outage, rendering their tablets and software inoperable. Despite this, they insisted on proceeding with the appointment, claiming everything would be fine. The eye exam was shockingly brief and inadequate. The technician used my old prescription, flipped through only a few (less than twenty lenses, in the exam machine, and concluded my prescription hadn't changed--all while struggling to manually record the information on paper due to the lack of digital systems. The technician was very personable and down to Earth however from the minute I arrived the entire process felt rushed and unprofessional even given their issues with the Internet. I get it. I would lose it if I lose it if I lost the internet access that largely drove the procedures at my business. Still, I wouldn't have provided this low level of service. Instead, I would have closed that day. This is the opposite experience of reviews I have written about my experiences at Bella Vision Bothell and Dr. Varon at Kaiser in Pacific Center downtown Seattle, upon discovering I have an eye infection, insisting that I needed to get my infection cleared up and then come back several times for no charge to confirm my prescription is EXACTLY correct. My interaction with Dr. Zollman lasted a mere five minutes, with no meaningful discussion or thorough evaluation. On the positive side, it was clear Dr. Zollman had read my chart before walking in. Upon his arrival, he asked me a few relevant questions. However, he spent more time outside the exam room worrying about the printer and going with the technician's suggestions entirely. To make matters worse, a month later, I received a bill for $150, which included a $50 charge for who knows what. $100 was attributed to a "contact lens fitting" that was never discussed and which I was explicitly told would be covered by my VSP insurance. I called today and thought that the person who answered the phone in billing was nice, professional and easy to understand. I didn't think explaining charges that shouldn't be there was an easy job and sympathized. She acknowledged the $50 was a mistake and reduced the bill to $100. This error, combined with the joke services, lack of transparency, felt deceptive and like a scam. I would normally fight this kind of thing out. However, I am under serious orders not to stress while I await my lung transplant. Further, I just recently paid off every bill and credit card so fighting this seemed like more hassle than it was worth. I looked at the various websites for Eye Associates NW to figure out why it seemed so crazy relative to every other eye exam I have ever experienced. I found out that they are a small group of md's who rotate around the different clinics. While I was surprised almost everyone in the practice was an MD/DO rather than an optometrist. However, given the amazingly bad exam, I would not recommend Dr. Zollman or Eye Associates Northwest Clinics. Just go to your local mall/Costco eye exam place and schedule an exam within a day or two. Given my own experiences, I feel certain that they would do a much better job!

I have never experienced a medical doctor who was outwardly rude to his patient. But, just found…read moreone - Dr. Samuel Seto, of Eye Clinic of Edmonds. It did not occur to me to check online reviews of a physician but after my experience with Dr. Samuel Seto, I checked YELP and found numerous reviews commenting on his rudeness. That told me that it wasn't just that he was having an 'off day', or that it was me, but that this behavior is typical for him. Check the YELP reviews for Dr. Samuel Seto as well as for Eye Clinic of Edmonds. I have been having eye exams for decades and this exam to determine the prescription for eyeglasses did not go well. I answered each question about which object was clearer - #1 or #2, to the best of my ability based on what I was seeing. But, for some reason, the results were conflicting and not clear. I was just calling it as I saw it. This required a second appointment. There was no mention that I would be charged twice. I pointed this out to them after getting the invoice but they would not reconsider the charge. So, I paid twice for the refraction exam. When I was unable to answer specific questions about an eye procedure I had 25 years ago, Dr. Samuel Seto became rude to me. He was also rude, to the point of raising his voice, when the results of my refraction exam were not conclusive. When I first made the appointment, I asked if they accepted my insurance plan and if they were in-network and was told they did and they were in-network. When I arrived for my first appointment, I presented my insurance card and was told they accepted that insurance. They submitted the claim for the two refraction exams (which is not covered by my insurance) as well as the complete eye exam. This claim was denied. While a complete eye exam IS covered by my insurance, I was told that the doctor was not in-network. It appears my insurance carrier contracts out vision care to another entity. It took numerous phone calls, emails and texts between me, Dr. Seto's office and my insurance company to resolve this. Eight months later, the insurance covered the expense. Just prior to my second appointment for the refraction exam, I texted the office to ask if Dr. Seto could check my eye, while I would be in for my appointment, because I felt there might be a foreign object in my eye. I was told, via text, that yes, he could check my eye. While in my appointment, I asked Dr. Seto about checking my eye for a foreign object and he had no idea that I had requested this. He was visibly annoyed and called in the staff member responsible to ask if this was true. There was obviously lack of communication between Dr. Seto and his staff. I also found communication with staff to be difficult. Most of the time when I tried calling the office, it would go directly to voicemail. I would then almost immediately receive a text from them. There are positive reviews for Dr. Samuel Seto on YELP. However, when I see the same complaints from different people, from different points in time, that tells me something.

I am disgusted by the reports that I have heard coming from my family member who has recently been…read moreseen and had surgery done by Dr. Seto. He has not only shown horrible "bed-side" manner, but also caused my family member to leave his office crying after honest questions were asked about the procedure that was scheduled. During the procedure, he asked questions when they were told to stay quiet and still. The office does not have a warm, friendly feel. Nobody should feel bullied and shamed by anyone. Especially someone who calls themselves a professional!

The support staff Andie was amazing! (and the 2 front reception) have been friendly and kind. Dr. Bajenova (and Dr. Chan) are very down to earth, patient and have calm demeanors. They also are real enough to even laugh with you and still be professional. I didn't feel rushed, and I was able to understand the logic of why my particular procedure would be done and why. (Past experience this same situation at NWeye came up, now with this hindsight, the very curt Dr. Did not explain to me WHY she wanted to start with a particular eye first. I felt frusterated, unheard and confused, so i did not have the procedure done, 6 years ago.) I was not upsold anything at Edmonds/Harman eye clinic that I wouldn't need, in fact It was explained that I shouldn't get the most expensive choice i wanted bc it in reality wouldnt make enough of an impact for my sight. So, grateful for that! Saved over 4k out of pocket! Thank you. I haven't had my procedures done yet, but now I am walking into this feeling confident and excited now. The anxiety and anticipation has lifted. 《 I will update in a few months! 》

Without informing me, they gave me an eye exam, with NO testing for what my prescription should be. Just an exam, no prescription. When I DARED to question them, they told me "we have terminated patients that have spoken out in our office. THEN they sent me a REGISTERED LETTER, telling me they had terminated me. It made me laugh because I would NEVER consider going back to them. They were rude, did not provide the service I needed, and ultimately I went to another doctor, paid for an exam and prescription ( for the second time). Overall it WAS A TERRIBLE experience.
