Back in October 2020, it was my first time going to Visionaire Eyecare and I can honestly say it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Making the decision to go to Visionaire Eyecare: I found them through VSP and I liked how they had an online application for new patients. I received a follow-up call the very next day and that they could take me in within the same week which was great. I walked into the office and the staff were super friendly and helpful! They are also very COVID compliant which is great! During the eye exam process, Dr. Wong went above and beyond my expectations by making the process super seamless. Dr. Wong took the time to answer all my questions and provided me with an amazing amount of information I never considered before. He does an amazing job emphasizing the importance of your vision and overall eye health. In March 2021, I got my first frame fitting after getting LASIK (went to a different place to get the procedure done). Both Carol and Marina were super nice and friendly! They were very patient with me and were willing to help me pick out sunglasses for me. I was able to walk out satisfied with my new pair of sunglasses thanks to their guidance. One minor improvement I would like to see is maybe getting an email/text reminder for my upcoming appointment. Other than that, I would highly recommend Visionaire Eyecare! I was late to my appointment, and instead of being offered to reschedule, I was rushed into my appointment. The staff said they were "doing me a favor" by letting me still be seen, but I've never been treated so harshly at this eye clinic. This was after me apologizing for being late and even agreeing to do the additional (and out of pocket) OptoMap photos to speed up the appointment. If my late arrival was such a burden to the schedule, I would've rather just rescheduled.

Minus his eyes getting dilated (he's two and yes it was a struggle for those drops to go in because he just didn't want them in his eyes) but he was praised and treated so kindly (bless their souls!). First off, the optical staff, technicians, optometrist, are really good. They are nice to the…read morepatients, professional and as far as I can tell competent. They even caught a stigmatism that was missed by my previous eye doctor which made a big difference on how I saw things. Now where star were lost were: 1. I feel as if this clinic kinda nickel and dimes you. Of all the vision clinic's I've been to over the years, this is the only place I can't seem to go to w/o always having to pay for something out of pocket. If it's covered by insurance there's something that they say it isn't and it'll cost you. To top it off, their products are pricey with regards to frames, lenses, contacts, services, etc. My last visit I had at Mill Creek Vision for my annual preventative eye exam, but they got me out of pocket for contact lens fitting (which I thought was covered my insurance, but they claim it isn't), Anyhoo, afterwards I asked for copies of my glasses and contact prescriptions and took them to Costco and purchased all my hardware there (despite jumping through some minor insurance hoops to get my annual hardware allowance back-which I did). Gotta tell ya, definitely more cost effective going that route. 2. But the biggest loss of stars in my rating is due to their front desk staff. A staff that DOES NOT know the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE and lacks a certain amount of professionalism. They are very condescending in how they talk and treat their customers. I base this on how they were with me and my family and how I observed them with other customers while I waited. There is one or two who stand out. If you've been there you probably know who I'm talking about. Anyhoo, they will make you feel as if you are interrupting them, putting them out for "Doing their job". They don't always do what is best for the patient/customer so if you don't ask, or question something chances are it'll get overlooked, ignored and you might get over charged or something forgotten. It doesn't help also that they seem to rush you at check in and during check out so they can get back to finger blasting their keyboards or phones. Again based on personal experience. The first three appointments I was able to schedule me and my family for the same day. If there's availability why not? Last time I tried to do it and despite open availability they denied it. Their reason I was told on the phone, they CAN'T schedule more than two family members at a time. WHAT? REALLY? So I ask why not, you've done it before and they tell me that it's policy. I try and continue to ask specifics about this policy and I'm told again, it's their policy and something about cancellation issues. Yeah whatever, I figure they're just being lazy. Policy or not, kinda ridiculous that they can't accommodate two adults and a child on the same day...oh wait a minute they have! but not today. Then there's a test that they do that looks at the back of your eyeball. You'd think it's a test that SHOULD be standard to an eye exam. It is an eye exam after all...it isn't so it'll cost you since it's NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE as part of your PREVENTATIVE CARE. Of course you can pass and instead they dilate your eyes for free I think (or maybe that'll cost you as well, I don't know, but what I do know, I've had that same test in other clinics and it was covered by insurance). Trying to get them to explain results in dirty looks and a mean-girl attitude...an no REAL explanation. So the "face" of the business does not make a good impression and they obviously don't realize that it's just as important as the service provided. This would be my 4th appointment to this vision clinic, but the front desk staff attitude has been pretty much consistent through out. So me and my family will probably be on the look out for another vision clinic. Too bad their front desk staff doesn't have the same customer service skills their optical staff does.

Taking patients in and getting them out quickly is a habit of his and I think he leaves patients feeling unserved. I was his patient 2+ years and while he did a good job removing my cataracts, he fell short in other aspects of my care. He is personally abrupt, seemingly rushed and overly short on guidance to patients. I have witnessed this as his office exam rooms have no doors. So many of his patients are elderly and need extra time and care. I believe on a good day, Dr. Takagi enjoys his work, but I have seen him seemingly miserable on several occasions. Not all glasses stores are the same...and I'll prove it:…read more I have very bad astigmatism in my right eye (+7.25) and have been using the higher quality progressive lenses for my frames. About four years ago, my glasses were getting so worn out, so I opted to get all-new specs. I have a good friend who is an optician, and he always does my measurements and creates my prescriptions for me. I brought my current prescription to the LensCrafters at Northgate Mall (or what's left of it), who promised me their lab could handle my heavy astigmatism. So I picked out a new frame and placed the order. Then they informed me I could get a second pair for 50% off, and I had been wanting to get prescription sunglasses anyways, so I opted to do the promotional offer for those glasses. I left the store feeling good that I had finally paid some attention to getting better eyesight. However, the result was horrific. First off, the lenses they gave me started to scratch up like crazy after the first month, despite my meticulous efforts to use only glasses-approved cleaning solution and microfiber cloth wipes to clean them. I mean, I was religious about it because I didn't want to scratch my beautiful new lenses. Turns out that didn't matter...they continued to get scratched up at a very fast pace. Secondly, they never produced my sunglasses. When I went in to pick up my regular glasses, they told me the sunglasses would take a little longer, which was fine with me. Two months later I called them wondering where my new sunglasses were. They told me the order had been cancelled. When I asked why, they couldn't produce a clear answer. They told me they would "look into it" and would let me know what they found out. They never, ever returned any of my calls, texts, or emails. I had to go back into the store a third time and demanded to know what was going on with my sunglasses order. They again told me the order was cancelled without any explanation as to why. They did not give me any option for honoring their promotional offer, which was the entire reason I decided to get the sunglasses in the first place. It was so infuriating, disrespectful, and negligent. Eventually, they reluctantly refunded my money, and I told them they had lost a customer for life. I was left searching for a new resource for my eye care that wouldn't treat me like a commercial pawn or just another consumer to scam. I live in Shoreline, so I took a chance and gave a call to Shoreline Eyecare. They were very understanding of my predicament and suggested I come in so they could see the glasses, my prescription, and give me their overall assessment of what would be a good next step for me to take. I immediately felt like someone actually gave a shit about my eyesight...which was very refreshing given the hellish experience at LensCrafters. My experience got even better after my first visit. I was offered a free check-up to verify the accuracy of my prescription, and then I met with a nice employee named Ally to review lens options for my existing frames (I wanted to keep the frames). When I showed her the glasses I got from LensCrafters, she looked them over for about twenty seconds and said my lenses were very likely defects because of the nature of the scratches and the fact they were so bad after a short period of time. As my blood boiled about being taken for a ride by yet another consumer-preying corporate entity such as LensCrafters, my conscience was slowly being convinced I had come to the right place at Shoreline Eyecare. It was exceptionally clear to me that Ally was thinking and acting upon my best interests. As she made suggestions, she checked the system to see if my insurance gave my discounted or covered options, she shared alternatives, showed me the supply line items for total transparency, and just made me feel like she was now my eyesight partner, as opposed to someone trying to sell me new glasses. When I decided to pull the trigger on the new lenses, I also decided to get the sunglasses as well since this seemed like a place that would be able to fulfill such a request. Ally informed me that, based on my insurance policy, it would behoove me to wait until after the new year because, at that point, she could apply a vision discounting to my order and save me close to $200! So I chose to do that for my regular glasses and went ahead with the sunglass order in the meantime. Ally helped me get the new lenses for my glasses ordered, they fit perfectly, and I'm now enjoying amazingly sharp and clear eyesight. Even being out of network for my insurance couldn't keep my business away. If you want real help for your eyesight, make sure you go to Shoreline Eyecare.
