We enjoyed a delicious brunch here on our way home from Branson, MO. My husband had the Southwest Omelet with sweet browns (sweet potato hash browns) and a side of bacon. I had the breakfast special, which was gingerbread pancakes with eggs over easy and bacon. Everything we ordered was wonderful! The pancakes were perfect - they didn't even need butter or syrup! Our waitress was very attentive and hospitable. We are looking forward to going back the next time we're in Springfield! read more

I found myself going to this restaurant because of the great reviews and reputation of this place. I found it just to be average. Food was average, nothing special; eggs, biscuit and waffles. Nothing out of the ordinary or special about it. If this is one of the best places that Springfield has yo offer then I'm really disappointed with the quality of food that people on this town have. My advice; go to IHOP is cheaper, cleaner and much better selection. read more

A-maz-ing!! We came while in town on vacation and wanted to go to local places, no chains. It's really easy to find and the inside is very warm and welcoming. It has a dive-y feel to it. The menu has a selection of original dishes as well as the standards. I tried the sweet browns (sweet potato hash browns) and they were really yummy! Staff is really friendly and on top of it. We did go on a Wednesday morning, so that may be a factor. read more

What a Springfield tradition gailey's is LOL. You can't come here on a Saturday morning and expect to be seated in under an hour. It is neat that they have a little bit more modern seating process, and they'll just text you whenever your table is ready. If you don't want to do that, be prepared to stand, pump the coffee pots 17 times because they're always empty, and try not to stare and wonder at the relationships of the people around you. Lol. You will sit probably a little too close to another patron, but I promise it's worth it. I get the eggs benedict every time, and I clean my plate every time. I'm also a fan of the sweet Browns which is a gailey's tradition. I've never had anything but sweet hash browns here LOL. I'm telling you that you can't go wrong with anything you order here. It's also a much better deal to get a picture of mimosas FYI. It's 5 or 6 bucks a glass or 20 for a pitcher... So it's no contest there. You will enjoy gailey's, even if it's packed full of college kids and people who obviously just rolled out of bed together haha. Just be prepared to wait a little bit. read more

Food tasted ok. 2 out of 3 orders were wrong. A bowl of fruit cocktail with a few slices of strawberries shouldn't be considered "a bowl of fresh fruit". I would try it again but hope things have improved. Did like the atmosphere. read more

What wethis loved most about this place was the breakfast combinations. Often times i want eggs and yogurt or yogurt and waffles. Finally found a place that gives you these options in addition to having a great quality food. Also meat option for breakfast was amazing instead of the common options. Awesome diner in downtown Springfield. Tried a salmon omelette with hollandaise sauce on a dare. It's now my go to when I order. You really can't go wrong with most items. I highly recommend it. Lines on the weekends can be incredibly long so keep that in mind when visiting. read more

This is the hidden gem of Springfield. The food is maybe the best breakfast food in the area. The staff is very friendly. They make all the food fresh and from scratch so be patient. I would rather wait for good food than quickly receive bad food. The sausage gravy and biscuits are absolutely fabulous. It is homemade every morning and they also use a healthy does of bacon to give it more flavor and texture. If you are looking for a brunch spot. They also have a full bar where you can order mimosas by the glass or by the pitcher. I recommend Gailey's all day everyday. The only thing is, this is a very popular spot on weekends. If you go on Saturday or Sunday. You need to be prepared for at least, a one hour or more wait. read more

For that reason it has grown and can get crowdy on the weekends (worth it, good vibes from everyone) but weekdays are perfect. I found myself spending an overnight in Springfield following an event in Branson, MO. I was certain I did not want fast food and really wanted to avoid chain restaurants, so off to Yelp! it was to find my breakfast. Gailey's was on my way home from where I stayed the night and had previously received good reviews so I decided to try it. Very glad i did. The "Sweet Browns" are very good and the Biscuits and Gravy were also wonderful. The gravy was spiced well with black pepper and made for a good addition to a solid breakfast. I will say if you are going to go on a Sunday morning with more than 2 people in your party, be prepared for a wait. Since I was by myself, I was fortunate that there was an opening at the counter and was seated right away. Larger groups were waiting to be seated. I really love the sweet potato hash browns, although they could've been a more crispy for my taste. The biscuits and gravy are pretty good. The perfect amount of pepper and sausage in the gravy. The biscuits are perfect! Taste homemade. The mimosas are pretty good. I'd prefer a little more orange juice, but they are still good. The pitchers are a little pricey at $20 though. Walking in, I thought we would be seated right away since we were the only ones waiting. We had plenty of time to look at the menu (paper takeout menu). I would have grabbed a coffee while waiting but unsure of the process of bringing it in (it would have been nice for the hostess to explain it to us newbies). 20 mins later we were seated and surprised open tables around us. The watress was very nice though. The patrons were mostly young and trendy, so I was curious what to expect taste wise. We were hungry and knew what we wanted to order. I shouldn't have been surprised it took over 45 mins to get our breakfast orders (it was 12:30pm I may add). Everything looked and tasted good. It was a step above IHOP fare (not by much). Overall, I give it an average rating. If you are hungry and don't want to wait, go to Waffle House instead. read more

I was really blown away by how bad this place was. The atmosphere was cute, the wait staff looked casual and fit the "downtown" vibe. The food and the service was absolute garbage, though. It took the food 45 minutes, and what I received was either just cold/stale or the wrong food entirely. Then when the wrong food was corrected, it was still wrong. The gravy was congealed from sitting there,the biscuits crunchy, my eggs were scrambled, the fruit unripe, and the drink my boyfriend ordered was so strong that his eyes watered and he just couldn't finish it. Like seriously, what season is it? Why are my strawberries white? Personally, I prefer rude waitstaff because I'm cranky in the morning, so the neglect was honestly preferred, but seriously at least give me the right tab. When I gave my card the tab was $11, and when I got it was ran for $16 I had already been there all morning so I just paid it, considered the difference his tip and hightailed it out of there. Boo. This is our second visit to Springfield. The first time, our experience at Gailey's was great! Food was fresh, service great. NOT THE CASE THIS TIME! We just ate there, and were greeted by a young man. He brought us coffee & menus, then we never saw him again. Another waitress noticed that we had been sitting there for a while, she took our order. My husband ordered his eggs over medium, and they came out over well, no runny yolk. The menu clearly outlines the description of how Gailey's cooks eggs. I guess the cook doesn't follow their guidelines. I ordered a Classic BLT. The menu describes the classic BLT as follows: your choice of bread, lettuce, tomato & mayo. You have option of chips, fries, mashed potatoes, chili, etc. I ordered the chips. My BLT came out without any mayo and the chips were the crumbs from the bottom of the bag. Lots of bits & pieces. I asked for mayo & got 2 packets of it. We could have gotten better food at a Denny's or IHOP. Nothing special. read more

We waited for about twenty minutes to get more coffee with no one checking in on us. Finally did. Service was horrible, but what really perturbed me was that I paid a tip on the table, yet they still pulled a tip off of my debit card, and didn't even give me a receipt. read more
