RUDE customer "service"! The head cashier refused to allow me to return a pair of jeans which I bought without a price tag (the cashier scanned another pair to ring it up). I explained that we had bought them for a Christmas gift and they did not fit. Her response was "they should've put a tag on them then". WHAT?!!?!? How was I supposed to know that they needed to put a price tag on them in order to return them? It is NOT my job! She REFUSED to get the manager when i asked to speak to them, making sure she let me know that she was the HEAD CASHIER. We will not be spending another dime at this store and I will be sure to let everyone I know about how they treat their customers. read more

We have spent thousands with this company(Gabe's). We like the fashion there ,And my wife Shop there almost every single day of the week but the employees are completely horrible they blamed my wife for stealing when she had a receipt in her hand And constantly get a bad attitude and make smart remarks for no reason I have called corporate and will pursue that avenue to the end. I really love this store. Have found quite a few pieces in here from clothing to furniture. I recently spotted a table there that I really wanted to purchase. The string hanging from the handle with no tag prompted me to find my nearest associate. While helping me look for the price tag she suggested lifting it up and may find it there. When she went to lift it though, I immediately noticed the bottom shelf had a major hole in it that resembled the damage you'd find when someone punches a wall. I found the table not so desirable anymore. She and the store manager found the tag and it was priced for $100. I asked her if there was anyway she could discount that price based on damage. She proposed some things just arrive that way while coming off of the truck. Okay? Can you still not price it to its now conditioned value? There are plenty of other tables in the store but none like this one and they are all priced correctly because there is no damage on them and they range from $50-$100 as well. Being this is a damaged table, why are you charging for it as if it's in new condition? Would love to hear the feedback on this when I return to the store yesterday just to check and see if they had maybe lowered the price on the table or maybe it was even gone, it was buried under more furniture so that it was unnoticed and there was no new tag on it? Are they attempting to not sell it so that it can go to their employees instead? It seems very unprofessional to not even put a new more noticeable price tag on it, nonetheless sale it as if it were as nice and mint as they're other tables, and never accept that it is in fact a damaged goods? read more

Great prices and getting the rewards card is definitely worth it. For every $1 subtotal you spend, you get 1 point. When you get your card up to 50 points (and this is after you activate your card of course) they will send you a $5 off coupon code that you can redeem off the next $26.70 or more purchase in the store. The part I like about this is that you don't have to print he coupon code number, you can have them scan your smartphone or even just write it down. Be careful though because rewards coupons expire after 14 days of earning them and the rewards points are on a quarterly system so they will all expire 9/30/15 and start over 10/1/15 for the next 3 months after that. The website www.mygabes.com is easy to navigate and the rewards account link is more useful than keeping up with points through your email. The only downfall that I could possibly think of this place is the fact that the inventory is unpredictable, but that's also a perk because these types of discount stores tend to have somewhat of a treasure hunting appeal. I cant stop telling people how great this store is! Even people who clearly dont want to talk to me, I feel compelled to let them at least know about the Gabe's in Gastonia. I have vowed to never pay more than $20 for a pair of jeans, and have been able to keep that promise here. Actually, I have to force myself into a new $250 minimum because I just can't spend any less! I am glad I live far because I would be here. If you need a clothing item even underwear, try Gabe's in Gastonia first. I spent $248 and some change, purchased four pairs of jeans, two coats, two pairs of shoes, at least six shirts, three bras, three pairs of socks, two sets of underwears, and more--thats just what I remember!! In addition, these nautica panties are so cute and comfortable, no panty lines!! I tried on every pair of cute jeans and they all have a lot of stretch (one pair was ($9.99). You think you don't have enough money with $10?? WRONG SIS--you will have to decide WHAT to get with your $10 because there is that much stuff there.
