I've discovered that the buyer for "this" Target has a lot of items you cannot find at other Target stores. It's out of my way (for now) but I always stop by when I'm in the area. Their customer service cashiers actually greet you. The food court has friendly staff. The women's section is always kept neat and items displayed well. The parking lot is neat and clean. It's in a very convenient location and you can see the signage far away. It's located very close to lots of restaurants. The prices are higher than Walmart; BUT there are lots of quality items and they always have a good amount of inventory. The shelves are never empty or run out of what you're looking for. That is appreciated. Can't wait to move closer so this will be my store on the app. Stop by if you're in the area or not. Come see for yourself! read more

Walked to just shop around and noticed a manger speaking to an employee overheard the conversation. The manger was speaking to the employee every poorly and saying rude things to her. All the employees look miserable, maybe because of the Manger is just terrible. I asked another employee if they liked working here and she said the management there is terrible and wouldn't recommend working there. The shelves were a wreck, clothes everywhere in the clothing department and even on shelves. I DO NOT recommend going there and I will never go there again. Target website states their new policy has been expanded to offer 10% discount to all military at stores and online. Target Gastonia DOES NOT honor this- we were told this only applies during "4th of July and November"... and the website "uses a comma to show different discounts for different times of the year and different groups." ie: teachers, military, etc Gastonia service desk was VERY condescending!!! read more

I bought AirPods from target online and I was delighted to see target had the lowest price in the area. I bought an insurance policy as well because it was recommended. What I didn't realize, is there is no contact information to use the policy I bought, and there is no one that knew what to do in any section of the store, from electronics to customer service. I was told to just go to another store to get information, and help. This is pretty sad. you shouldn't sell something you can't help a customer with. I would highly recommend against making my mistake. I found out Apple replaces the case for free so my purchase was unnecessary, just like my trip to target. read more

Since moving, this is an easy location to get to for me...but sure do miss Target being a 3 mins drive from previous place...sorry, I digress. Parking is plentiful, smaller Target than i am used to but their stock of items is fine, haven't had an issue. My complaint is the number of cashiers, or lack of, during busy weekend hours. 2 lines open Sat mid-day? I think I was in line for 30 mins...I also have to keep in mind per my husband that this is in the Gas House (Gastonia) and things are a little more slower...err... Laid back than CLT... Me and my wife were rearranging the loft area and decided that we needed a file cabinet and rather than ordered one from Amazon I just hopped in the car and drove down to Target and get one there. Upon arriving at the store (and of course with my mask on) I greeted with warm hellos and smiles and was immediately asked if they could help me. I told her that I was looking for a file cabinet and she walked me over straight to what i was looking for. I then proceeded to check out and I must say that this was the easiest trip I've ever made to Target and hats off to the wonderful employees who made this experience delightful. read more

Customer service is very mediocre at this location; they never go above base requirements. I finally decided to write this review as this is at least my 5th time of sub-par service. Today's example my order went through the app as 'pick up' not 'drive up' as intended; I called in to address as I had a sleeping infant in the car. The guy that answered guest service line at 4:15pm today basically said 'sorry sometimes that happens, you must come inside; then we can help you'. I'm pretty sure Corp would be ok with you taking a paid order outside to the drive up area. Others incidents; I've engaged with managers and same level of response...'oh sorry; nothing else we can do'. Very disappointed...Employees with bad attitudes and lack of customer service need to pay attention that they are just making it easier for ECommerce like Amazon to this force job loss in places like Target. read more

Extremely disappointed. I ordered a baby mattress as a gift. They decided not to box the mattress and just to plop a shipping label over the plastic cover. Of course the plastic ripped and the mattress was delivered filthy. They want me to return it before they will replace it. That is ridiculous since the delivery person dropped it off damaged. So this is the target that is closest to my house. I typically try to go in the morning while there is no huge rush of people. I generally can get what I need, ask a question or two, and check out on my own. One thing that I have noticed about shopping in the am, most associates are busy stocking items and talking with one another. They will answer a question if you ask, but no one has every greeted me or said good morning while I shopped. Not that I am looking for that but it helps to feel that you are welcome in their store. Its clean and well stocked. It seems at times that the only check out register is the self-checkout which works great for me but not everyone likes that. I would come back again. This has been open now for 3 years. I come here for children's clothing and housewares. The Starbucks right at the front door is nice. Friendly staff The store is pretty well organized but not always well stocked. I'm often disappointed when they don't have the size I want in clothes,or toys, or grocery The housewares department is nice. Wow - Target is really slipping these days! I walked in no one was at customer service. I went about my shopping & was surprised at how poorly the shelves were stocked! My biggest pet peeve- When I go to checkout there are 14 registers & only 1 is open. If I wanted that shopping experience I'd go to Wal-Mart (which I hate) and save a little money! Oh wait - forgot to mention that 4 employees were shooting the bull around 1 register as well. (You could hear their discussions & it wasn't about improving the store, or opening another register - just gossip!) Four employees & not one of them opened another register?! I'm not sure why they started this thing of putting massive (red buckets) displays in the isle, Ok - impulse sales, I can tell you people don't like having to maneuver around these monstrosities!!! I elect to go to Target for the great customer service (employees actually know where things are in the store & plenty of registers open) and over all merchandise is better than you get at good ol Wal-Mart. Target get your act together! You're going turn off customers if you keep this up! I'm one of those people that will go out of my way to shop at Target. Solid Target location. I give'm three stars but throw in an extra for having a nice clean Starbucks up front. If you don't like sipping lattes/mochas while Christmas shopping, please have your pulse checked. The $1/$2/$3 section up front is always a mess, but it's probably difficult to keep straightened. Some fairly decent "up to trend" clothes/brands. Great housewares section. Clearance not as good as it used to be. Lots of holes in the toy department, but this is to be expected this time of year (or is it?). Great greeting card section. Health and Beauty department is slick and streamlined. A-Okay store but the Starbucks gives it some "street cred". read more

Nice new Target with a Starbucks just inside. Lots of selection and its usually nice and clean. The location is great too being just off of I85 in G-town, right at the top of the giant shopping run. After multiple attempts to use this target I will no longer go back. Worst service. Find somewhere else don't bother here. The Starbucks has the RUDEST employees, on at least 3 occasions I have had a bad experience, the last being today when a young female ROLLED HER EYES before I even spoke a word, before she even greeted me.. which she never did, she looks up from her paper the moment she sees me and rolls her eyes, then ask "what do you want?" I say my drink, And she walks away and goes to chit chat with an employee, asking her about her day & when she got there.. then comes back & tells me total, then before I could even tell her I wasn't finished ordering she walks to ANOTHER employee and starts talking to her. When she gets back I ask if they have any tomato mozzarella panini? She says No & walks away again. Doesn't even ask if I would like something else, I've been there for ten minutes by now just trying to order so I gave up on getting breakfast, paid for my coffee & left; this is at 10am, the entire place is dead and I was the only one at Starbucks the whole time. This is the kind of behavior that ruins people's moods. It's called the SERVICE INDUSTRY, if you can't do it right you shouldn't be allowed to. I wish I wouldn't have even got the coffee because she made it WRONG anyway. Rant over. This location also never has more then one register open & the employees just stand around talking to each other. Even if you say something to a manager nothing changes. I visit this target every other week or so. Lately when I go to shop the clothing and shoes sections are a complete wreck. The dressing rooms have no attendants and clothes are piled on the desk and in the dressing rooms. I understand that there are inconsiderate customers, but I can only assume the staff is being paid to do something. When I have went to check out the past couple of visits there has only been one check out open with huge lines. I really expect more out of this franchise. I love Target, and I was so excited when Gastonia Target moved into the new location. For a while everything was great, but the newness has worn off and they are really letting it go downhill now. When I went shopping there today, there were carts all over the parking lot and broken glass in the spaces! I went in and the shelves were half empty, trash all over the floor, and two registers open with people lined all the way out to the aisles trying to check out. Takes the fun out of shopping at Target when it feels more like Walmart. I'll drive to Charlotte from now on. So disappointed. read more

From a dingy shopping center with the most inconvenient parking lot ever to a nice, open, convenient, new, glorious location right off of Cox Rd. This location has a "fresh grocery", so it's not a full blown Super Target (boo), but still has the essentials, which is so great. Super friendly associates, too, that I think are so glad to be out of the hole they were in before. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. I'm obsessed. Well.. they expanded a little on square footage. My guess is that Harris Teeter didn't want them adding a grocery to compete as part of deal for being in the same general space.. Guess what? Not a bad Target, although they tend to not get a lot of new stock. Read any of my store reviews and you'll know that I'm an action figure collector, so that's pretty much how I judge a store. This Target tends to get one shipment of a collector's line in and then just stops carrying the toyline. They've done this with the Marvel Legends Captain America: The Winter Soldier figures, the 1/18th scale Star Wars Black, and the DC Total Heroes stuff. Unless it's Lego or TMNT related, you're not going to find it at this Target. Since I have a daughter, I am impressed with the toys and clothes section for litle ones. They have lots of cute kids clothes and some very reasonable prices on their toys for the kiddies. I like their in-house, retro inspired toys for children. I'll also say that I've never had problems with any customer service at this store. Everyone has always been nice and friendly. Even when the store is incredibly busy, they keep opening up more registers, which is nice. A lot of stores just wont do that. read more

I have usually liked Target because I could buy ELF makeup products here before they were available at Walmart. There are good buys in the beauty and electronic departments. However, I recently had a bad experience at this Target and will not be back. I got to Target one morning at 8 am because I saw on the website that a Nintendo amiibo toy was available at this location. This was a rare toy that is only available at Target and sold for much more on EBay. It has been sold out online for a while. I got there early and waited in the cold and rain so I could be the first to get this toy as a Christmas gift. When I got the the electronic department I asked for help and was then redirected to a guy that worked specifically in the electronic area. He said the toy showed up as in stock, but I would have to wait two more hours for it to be unloaded from boxes that came in a recent shipment. I said thank you and left because I had to go to work and did not have time to wait. I called a friend to pick the Amiibo toy for me at 10 am. They were also told that the item was missing. When my friend asked to speak to a manager, two of these toys were suddenly found under the cash register where employees put items they want to hold. The manager told my friend that the toy had been available all along, since 8 am. This upsets me because the toy was not even put out to be sold to the public and I specifically asked for it. There is no reason for multiple copies of this toy to be saved, unless the employee was trying to make some money by flipping them on EBay. I will not be back to this Target. How can their employees be so greedy and hide toys from customers during the Christmas season? I will just take my business to any of the several WalMarts in the Gastonia area. read more
