Refrigerator tech initially said he couldn't do the repair because he thought the water supply wasn't cut off. I explained residual water in the line and provided a bucket to catch the remaining water in the line. To "fix" our washer that didn't dispense softener, they came the next day and merely replaced the drawer (that simply slides out in the front) and charged $140 for the 60 second "repair" that required no tools or even skill. I would have gladly paid for the part and slid the new drawer in myself to save $140 if they had made the problem clear when they diagnosed it 2 weeks prior. read more

We have a LG refrigerator and the manufacturer told us to contact one of the three service providers that had been assigned to repair the Refrigerator. I understand people are sick and needed to reschedule. I was very patient as I did not know we had another choice. The service repair person, K, came out and asked for a letter of authentication from the manufacturer. I have no clue what that is. I was told to call this company for repairs. Needless to say, no repair was made, but the $152.90 service call was made. I wasted my time and money scheduling with this company. !! ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE !! 80 DAYS & STILL NOT WORKING !! Service was requested for a 3 yr old GE Refrigerator/Freezer that would not get colder than 40 degrees. Their 1st service rep came out and I was told the compressor was out - they would send a certified tech out to evaluate the repairs - all on GE warranty. The certified tech decided that the issue was sensors and not the compressor - so the parts were ordered. FINALLY, on 11/10/23 - the new parts were installed. So here we are - 2 techs and 3 appointments later - I called today (11/17/23) to let them know that it is still not cooling to the set temperature. The freezer will not get colder than 20 degrees and the fridge is running 5 degrees warmer than it should be. Our ice maker broke in our one year old Bosch refrigerator. We have an extended warranty and Gabe's was the company assigned to us to repair/replace the ice maker. The hardest part of the repair was dealing with the home warranty company. Gabe's Electronics called to set up appointment and it was delayed due to part not arriving on time. The technician called and kept me informed on the status. Gabe's rescheduled our appointment and on the day of appointment called 15 minutes before she arrived to let me know she was on the way. Great communication and the technician changed out our ice maker. The technician was polite and worked quickly. By the next morning we had ice. When their tech (Logan) showed up, I was told that I owed a $109.25 "TRIP FEE," then that it would cost close to $500.00 to fix my Samsung P.O.S. refrigerator. When I noted that today was Veteran's Day, I asked if they offered any Veteran's discounts, like maybe 10% (a small gratuitous amount to show just a little gratitude to a Veteran on VETERAN'S DAY). I don't typically leave reviews on Yelp, but I have to express my frustration with this company and warn other potential clients that your money is better spent elsewhere: I called Gabe's to repair a washing machine that was not draining water. The repair crew came to our house, checked the machine for about 5 minutes and came to the decision that I needed a new drain pump. Total price: $390 for parts, labor, and the trip to the house. Fine. Paid for the repair. The receipt stated the parts and labor are warrantied for 30 days. 11 days later and after no more than 3-4 wash loads, the machine starts having the same problem not draining. I called Gabe's back and schedule them to return. I spoke with the manager, Jimmy, who immediately began discussing the potential of additional charges if it turned out to be a different issue, such as a blockage. I questioned Jimmy as to why his crew didn't check for a blockage when they were first at my house and his response was "you think they would" and chuckled. Yes, I do think they would considering they were there to repair the machine. When the second crew came to the house I was immediately greeted by a tech with an attitude. I began discussing the drainage issue with him and he just talked over me and was extremely rude. Basically, "do you want the repair or not?" I was in a bind and needed to do laundry so I agreed to the additional repair. Turns out there was a blockage in my water line that needed to be removed. I spoke with Jimmy again who basically yelled at me for questioning his employees work the first time. He then chastised me for not doing my own check of a filter his crew supposedly cleared less than 2 weeks ago (also, it was not the filter but a hose running in the back). Despite coming out just 11 days prior, they would not honor the work and I would have to again pay for a repair. Another $110 and I will never use this company again. I understand the need to pay your employees and time is money. However, I do not believe the work was done correctly the first time. No one could even confirm if I needed a new drain pump to begin with. I was erroneously charged a second time for the incomplete work originally completed. Gabe's does not stand behind their work and the unprofessional attitude of their manager and the second tech completely took me by compete surprise. Absolute worst repair experience I've ever had. Please do not give them your business. We had someone out to diagnose the problem and the misdiagnosed it. Waited weeks for a part, then a different tech came out to install it, and told us that the issue was totally different and diagnosed a new problem with a new part needed. Requested warranty work on my "new" GE stove. BROOKE was the service technician assigned to my work order. She did an absolutely FANTASTIC job. I felt the oven was heating accurately. She checked it twice (at different temp settings)...showed me her calibration stating it appears to be working accurately. The indicator lights (both oven and burners) were flickering. She checked those and stated they appeared to be defective. She said she would order two new bulbs and come back to put them in for us. Let me say that the gentleman I spoke to was very nice, as he explained to me that it was probably a compressor. He continued, the compressor is very hard to work on, and time consuming. We've had our dishwasher for 2 years in a remodeled kitchen and had Gabe's in our home 4+ times. The last time the technician cracked a connector by tightening too much and we didn't realize that water had been leaking/pouring under our floor for months. When we realized, it took 2+ weeks for them to come back to fix it... but because I was struggling to get the dishwasher back out from under the counter (with the technician just watching me struggle), he walked out without fixing the problem. They come out the first time, two days after Best Buy scheduled them to come, and don't fix my refrigerator right. Well, it started out good. We called to make an appointment which was made for July 12 and they would come with a compressor for our fridge, since they were sure that was what was wrong. That would have left us without a fridge for two weeks. They called on July 11 and said they would be here in 15 minutes. Shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. They showed but had an old, broken compressor which obviously wouldn't fix my fridge. He had put in four others that day! Since we were originally scheduled for the 12th, he had hopes they would send him out the next day. Nope. They called today and won't be here until July 27! a month without a fridge for a family of five! Had a Frigidaire over the range microwave stop functioning, called Frigidaire and two repair companies were recommended by Frigidaire. First one was closer but did not answer phone call. Called Gabe's next, explained problem to gentleman from Gabe's. He explained I needed to get a work order from Frigidaire and it would be somewhat difficult to navigate Frigidaire's automated system. Frigidaire provides the work order to Gabe's. I checked with Gabe's about an hour later and setup a service time for 12/05/19 between 12-4pm. Thadd A arrived around 1:20pm with the parts they had ordered and had the microwave repaired in about 45 minutes which included removing & re installing the microwave over the range. Don't understand the low score reviews from the other posters, Gabe's did an excellent job, would use again. read more

I got a new GE Washer/dryer stack. The fabric softener dispenser wasn't draining properly. I called GE and they told me that it was under warranty and they would have someone call me to fix the issue. I received a call from Gabe SelecTronics. The woman asked me what was wrong with the washing machine. I told her about the dispenser drainage issue and that the legs in the front of the unit might need to be raised a bit. She asked me if it was a stackable unit and I said yes. She proceeded to tell me that I would have to unstack it in order for them to work on it. I explained to her that I live by myself and that I was unable to unstack it. She said it would cost me $75 if they were to do it. I said that I did not think that was reasonable since the unit was under warranty. And she told me any repair company would charge me $75 to unstack it. So I canceled the appointment and called GE back. GE said there should never be a charge for an issue like that while the machine is under warranty. I don't recommend Gabe's. read more

My big-ass Samsung DLP was dying a slow, painful death. The problem was a DMD chip made by Texas Instruments that was notorious for wrecking Mitsubishi and Samsung DLP TV sets. When I bought my TV, it was gigantic, expensive, and was supposed to be a last hurrah before we started having kids. I.E., not something that we would be replacing any time soon if things ever went south. Well, halfway through December, I saw a white dot on the screen and got up to wipe it off. Turns out it was the TV making the dot. Did some research and found out it was the first sign of something bad happening that would eventually wreck my TV. The chip to fix the problem was pretty expensive, but I'm pretty tech savvy, so I thought I would give it a try. But at the same time I was torn, because if I screwed things up, I would be stuck with a very expensive mistake and I could almost purchase a new TV - again a tough sell in this household. While researching some more on the interwebs, I saw that some owners had been able to get Samsung to fix the problem, but the results were inconsistent because of the call center. I gave it a try and to my delight, Samsung offered to send someone over to fix my six-and-a-half year old TV for FREE. Adam came over from Gabe's as soon as the part came over and I helped him move the TV so he could fix it. While he worked, he told me some awesome stuff about home electronics in general, and we both reminisced about the good ol' days of TV's as many moons ago I used to work in a big box electronics store. He was very efficient and polite - I'm not sure I could imagine a better guy for the job. And the best part - I didn't have to spend a dime and I am back in business in the TV world. I would not hesitate to buy another Samsung product or to call Gabe's if I ever have a problem with home electronics or appliances. read more

I feel so good about my decision not to go here. I phoned them and told them my problem. I was told $50/deposit and 2 week backlog. I nearly went there because they were suggested to me. But.. I just didn't feel right about the 2 week backlog, let alone, $50 deposit to see what was wrong with my TV.. Instead, I phoned Zack at Capital City Computers in East Nashville and told him about my TV.. He told me to bring it over and let him look at it. Everything you read about this place bailing on work is correct. Their sealed system guys came out, injected dye into the unit and told us to call when it ran out so they could continue the work to find the leak. When I called back, the manager said it was too costly and most places don't even do the sealed system work, so they aren't coming back to finish the job. He could have cared less to actually do the work they said they would do. This place is in over it's head agreeing to warranty work. The techs that have come out have been great, but it's apparent to me the management of this place could care less about consumers. Whirlpool even called them asking them to finish the job and they differed to Ken's appliances. Read the other reviews, this is a pattern. read more

This "company" has been out 5 times and replaced 5 parts and on my new dryer that is under warranty. Each part was replaced even though they could not figure out what the issue was. Basically, a guess every time and then waiting on the next guess part to be ordered when that one didn't work. Multiple reschedules in between. I didn't get the name of the extremely disrespectful male office staff member that was extremely rude to me when I questioned getting a new appliance after being without a dryer for 2 months. He went on to tell me I called in the first ticket per his "handwriting" and that they ordered the part for my heating issues. First of all, I am a renter. Second of all, the original ticket was place by my rental agency's maintenance man. I had absolutely no idea who they even used. My dryer has consistently not been turning on for 2 months to even know if the heat is working. It's now 2023, and your "hand written notes" need major help. Also.. the way you talked to me, especially being a woman, is unacceptable and unprofessional. I'm sure you will reply with a lie to the public as you lied to me. This is the worst place of business. They lack professionalism, customer service and hold your work order intentionally because they can. It is a very small business and cannot keep up with today's update processing work orders. Our dryer was making an awful noise. Our protection plan company hired GABE's Electronics to repair the dryer. The tech was friendly and took apart our dryer 5 times with no success of repair. He blew the breaker which burnt the plug of the dryer. He said it was not repairable and to contact Lowes for a replacement. When I contacted Lowes and the warranty company they said the repair place needed to send in the paperwork. When I called the repair place about the paperwork they said they were backed up and would send in the work order when it's your turn. I asked when is that they could not give me a date. I waited a week and called back got the same unprofessional older male rep, who was taunting we will send it in when it's your turn. Kept me on hold for 30 minutes and never return to the call. Two weeks and still no dryer replacement because the female said she was going to hold it longer because I had an attitude. This does not make any sense. read more

Appointment was made and they were able to get me Scheduled quickly . Last year I had an issue with my washing machine and once again I was scheduled in a timely manner . In November of last year my microwave oven combination stopped working. On November 15 a two man crew came out to diagnose the situation. The technician said it was a fuse and he would have to order one. Before he came into the house I asked him to put his booties on and he refused and I said I wanted him to put them on so he put them on but then he walked back-and-forth to his vehicle three or four times and brought all the dirt in the house but I did not say anything in case they had to come back. They ordered the part and came back about a month later. I could not be home that day so my wife let them in. While she was in the other room she heard a loud noise and she came in and asked what happened and the tech said it's my fault I forgot to disconnect something before I put the fuse in and blew it. Now they had to order new parts. After calling Gabe's several times and Frigidaire the parts have been on back order for almost 5 months . We have been without a microwave for five months because of his ineptness and not paying attention. By the way his third time here and still refuse to put on booties. Finally the other day Frigidaire said your parts will not come in and we are forced to spend almost $4000 for a new unit. Because of that idiot blowing the fuse and not paying attention is costing us for a new unit because it's not under warranty anymore. All those months Gabe electronis kept giving us the run around I will never ever ever use them or refer them again. They treated us like trash. Now I found out that they're no longer servicing Frigidaire appliances anymore. All because that idiot wrecked our microwave and there's nothing we can do about it as of now. This was our first time to have service from Gabe's Electronics. We were pleased with the Customer Service and with the gentleman (Damon) who came to do the work on our dryer. After diagnosing the problem, Damon checked to see if he had the needed part in his truck. He did not so had to order it. I referred to Damon as a gentleman, because that is precisely what he was...kind, courteous, and respectful...and I requested that he be the one to come back to install the needed part after it came in. However, apart from good Customer Service or the considerate repairman, my husband and I thought the price was astronomical. The part itself was only $15.40; however, the total bill was $203.84. So disappointed. I called with a very specific problem for a TV repair on my big screen TV. I know exactly what is going wrong with it. At the time I bought it, I was told this problem would occur far into the future. I asked what range it would be to fix this problem. With the price of TVs today, for the hassle of hauling it out of the basement, I wanted to know whether to take it for repair or take to the dump. I was told "Very honestly, I make my money from people bringing their TV in, not giving a price for repair over the phone". Gabe's Electronics was recommended to me by a friend who had a pleasant experience with them. The initial appointment was easy to setup and schedule. The technician, Jeremy, came out and diagnosed the problem, explained the process of ordering parts and coming back out to complete the job. The initial repair was done right before the Christmas holidays so scheduling the follow up was a bit delayed. I would recommend the office get a voicemail system or answering service to take calls. I called multiple times the week after Christmas and could not reach anyone. Jeremy came back out today to complete the repair and did a fantastic job! He explained in detail the parts that were repaired and what was causing the issue. His is obviously very knowledgeable and did a great job! He was efficient and professional and the freezer is working perfectly now. I would recommend Gabe's Electronics and as with any repair if you have any questions, ask. They were helpful and willing to answer all of my questions and were very pleasant to deal with. read more

Had a repair setup with Gabe's through an extended warranty program for a kitchen appliance. When an employee called me and collected the information he was very professional. However the technician tried to show up earlier then we had talked about so I was unable to be there. He told me to call in reschedule and have yet to be able to get ahold of someone and a month later still do not have the repair complete. When they did not show up, I was told the request came in over the weekend, and they would not be able to come for three weeks. Assigned Gabe's by manufacture for warranty work on my new gas range which developed a gas leak after 2 weeks of use. Tech shows up and after an hour of searching he couldn't find the leak in the oven. He also said he could NOT smell the gas, even though I and several others could. He witnessed a natural gas detector indicating that a leak was present. As he wrapped up his search I was told the probability of my newly manufactured oven having a leak was very low! Another appliance company was used the next day and their tech found the leak in less than 5 minutes. Never using Gabe's again and can't recommend them based on this experience. read more

Very disappointed in the price charged. Every worker is worthy to get paid a fair price. Gabe's Electronics replaced a $30 water supply valve in my Whirlpool refrigerator. Technician was training a new employee. New employee forgot to bring the part. He had to return to the store to get the part while the technician sat in the truck waiting. They were at the job for about less than 45 minutes (including the wait for the forgotten part). They charged $120 labor plus $44 dollar trip fee. Looking up the distance, it costs $1 in gas from their store to my house. I understand a reasonable up-charge, but these fees are absurd. When contacting the owner, he described how they don't charge by the hour, they charge by the job and didn't charge for the training of the new employee. Really? My bill was $214 to install a $30 valve. That is not reasonable!!!!!! Not recommended! read more

Gabe get's one star for service because there is nothing lower. We asked him to repair an Electrolux ice maker problem. Gabe diagnosed the issue and said he needed many parts which he ordered. 3 weeks later-no parts no calls. I called and left a message. No response so I called again 2 days later. He said the parts were on back order but he wanted to take another look at the ice maker. On the next visit he determined that he could repair the existing parts to get the ice maker to work. Since we had already paid for the parts he 'graciously' offered to use the "parts" money for his extra labor. Lo and behold the ice maker worked!! ------- for one day. I called and left messages for over a week and then could not leave more messages because his voicemail was full. His answering message says he will return your call in 15 minutes. His clocks must run in super slow motion as he still hasn't returned my calls. DO NOT GIVE HIM A CHECK. If you want your own adventure and hire him, pay with a credit card. I was able to get an uncontested refund through my credit card company. read more
