My job was to try on whatever they brought me, so I took off my shoes and socks and waited. I now know what hell must be like. I tried on a lot of trousers and am amazed that there were some that fit nicely and that I liked. I ended up with the start of a new wardrobe and my wife had a new friend. I told her I wanted to exchange an item and she responded "there's no one in dresses?" Well that was rude. You're standing right here, did I need to go find someone in Dresses?? I told her I didn't know and proceeded to ask "do I need to return this in Dresses?" She hesitantly said I didn't, but that she was about to go to customer service. I was a little annoyed but didn't push it and instead headed to Dresses where the sales associate was a little demanding, telling me to go to the counter, follow her, etc. I noticed she was about to help someone ahead of me with a return so I told her I saw something I wanted to look at and I'd be over shortly. After she finished the other return, she asked the woman she was helping to fill out something on the screen- email address maybe? But as she waited impatiently, she walks over to me to grab my two items so she could begin my purchase. The woman ahead of me then told her she wanted to do an additional exchange. I listened as she told the woman that her item was not available in the size/color combination she saw online and ushered her to the side to look into it as she helped me lol. I'm not sure if these ladies were ready to go home, or overworked, but we were more than 20 minutes from closing time, and at least while I was in the store, it was pretty slow. It's not a nice feeling to feel rushed for one, and that you're a burden to someone who's there to do a job for two. I usually have a good experience at this store even though it's not my favorite but not quite sure what was going on today.

Fortunately my wife and I had been to Dillard's where customer service was very available and helpful. Not so at Belk's. We learned a bit about trousers, so wife pulled a number of pair for me to try. I grumbled about clothes shopping, but it was contained in the changing room that I occupied. The room was thoroughly trashed. Rubbish spread over the floor and pins stuck everywhere on the walls. Ugh! We did find some pants and when we went to pay for them, there was no one in sight. Must have been with the sales reps who were also not visible. Finally we found a "station", paid and were gone. What has happened to Belk's? They use to be a very nice place to shop with super customer service and help.

I asked her why and she said she couldn't find the item. I showed her my invoice that showed all the info and she was still having trouble. She made it seem like that was it. I asked if there was a manager she could ask and she finally did. It was annoying because this whole process took 15 minutes! And she kept using different computers back and forth and they didn't have a merchandise credit card for my store credit at the desk. She had to call someone to bring it to her. The manager finally came and fixed the issue but this was such a hassle. Super unorganized. I would have no desire to come back to this store ever.

We had a sales staff member come up and ask us if we had any questions or needed any help, but also explained how the layout was - firm beds on one side, medium in the middle, and plush on the other side, with some beds set up where they are split with both types. After that she let us be (much appreciated) and we just played like Goldilocks going from one bed to the next and back and forth to determine with ones we liked. We determined a couple top contenders with our favorite and decided to leave to do some research. Upon coming home to do research, I was shocked to see how over priced JCP was. JCP had the bed we were looking for on sale for $1800 in store, but then had it on even bigger discount at $1100 online. Why not advertise that price in store? Then I saw that a number of stores including Macy's, a mattress store, and Costco, all sold this same exact bed for $500-$700, so all these stores were within a reasonable range of one another except for JCP. Why? I didn't bother to go back or contact JCP online to see about price matching and instead ordered from Costco. JCP might want to start thinking about being in line with other stores and being more reasonable, or they will be on their way out like Sears.

The way the looked at me and treated me was very rude. Like I stole these items and was trying to return them for money. The security lady even had the nerve to say, "why don't you return them to where you got your bag from?" I grabbed a random Old Navy bag I had at the house that would fit all the toys; doesn't mean I'm trying to cheat someone. Even so, it would end up being a store credit so I'll still be spending money to get what my son actually will play with or use. I ended up donating the toys to Goodwill because I don't shop here and I would never in my lifetime.

This location recently opened. I was surprised to see items already on Reduced/Clearance. And I got them! I came looking for items I needed for a new project. And I wasn't disappointed. Only downside is that it appeared not to have name brand clothing or perfume like Ross. I could be wrong but that's what I noticed. I did see some name brand shoes. There was a security guard in the store just like I've seen at other Ross stores. I overheard the cashier saying they are hiring on the spot. I will most definitely return because the closest Ross to my home is 9.5 miles away. This store is less than 6 miles away from my home.
