This review is from 2018 - I am sure a lot has changed:) I used Gab-it-out last summer to organize garage before going back to work after summer break. They did a wonderful job of going through things, putting things in places and offering suggestions on different ways to store things. I am a teacher with many materials to go through, by the end of the second day the frustration and annoyance from whole team was very evident. What started as an organized book by category sorting ended with a general box of books thrown together in to non-specific categories. However, after they left when I continued the process myself using areas they had organized I was shocked to discover that they had not wiped off or cleaned the shelves or containers before putting organized materials back on shelves (garage 5 plus years of dirt/grim). They did a wonderful job of organizing but I am continued to be reminded every time I go to find something how absolutely filthy everything was after they left last summer. Knowing that I have to go back to remove and than redo all the work I had already paid for. This has made enjoying the organized space that was left filthy makes the end result much harder to enjoy, I have not yet had the time or energy to remove everything again and clean. When and if I do I will again be reminded of the disappointment felt, the money and time I spent to use their services. read more

I highly recommend the Gab It Out organizers. Owner Linda and a colleague Laura were enthusiastic, attentive, and really listened well. They worked quickly and efficiently. It helped so much that Linda offered an initial free on-site consultation to learn more about me and my situation and evaluate my problem areas in person. On our later appointment date and on their own initiative, they brought with them a plastic organizer and 3-tier metal storage shelving which worked perfectly for my needs. Several weeks after the session, Linda dropped off a bulletin board to help with my focus needs. This kind of proactive and kind act showed me they really care about fulfilling the client's expressed (and unexpressed!) needs. I am happy to have found the help I needed! Thank you, Linda and Laura! Sheila Forest Park, Illinois read more

Gab It Out unpacked my in-laws after a move from Florida. They were amazing and did it all. They made their house a home. They also helped advise where to put things, what to donate and what to put away! From my mother-in-law: " I highly recommend them! They did everything for me. They work hard and are very efficient and so pleasant to have in my home. I don't know what I would have done without them!!! " read more

Linda and Meredith did a wonderful job getting my condo organized. For the first time since I moved in(12/18) I feel relaxed and comfortable. So far, living here this was the best bang for the buck I have spent, and I have spent a tidy sum. I would recommend their service to anyone who needs help getting organized. read more

Linda and her team of GAB gals are freakin' incredible! I truly cannot say enough amazing things about these ladies. They helped my family pack up our lives and move from a 4 bedroom condo in Chicago to a 5 bedroom home in the suburbs. In 3 days of work, we had everything packed and unpacked on both ends...and I mean EVERY LITTLE THING. All the kids toys, chotchkies, nick nacks and everything in between, they packed and unpacked with care and consideration for how we use our home. They say moving is one of the most stressful things you can do, but these girls literally took the stress out of everything on both ends of the moving process. Do not hesitate to use them for all your packing, organizing, decluttering needs - you will not be disappointed! read more

I've often read reviews that said things like, "I've never posted a review before, but I had to now because this thing is awesome!" or "This is my first review ever because this place is the best!!" And I always thought - that... is... hilarious... Under no circumstance could I ever imagine having an experience so unbelievably spectacular; it would actually inspire me to sit down, take the time, and tell the world about it. NEVER. Well never say never, my friends, because today is that day! I had a HUGE task ahead of me... With a very limited budget, I needed a strong team to swoop in and help a family of 5 move into a large 5BR/3 story home. I needed them to unpack every box... Put away every dish, sock and picture frame... And then disappear as if the family had lived the house for months. And - HERE'S THE KICKER - they had less than 2 days to do it. I called and interviewed FIFTEEN different organizational companies in the Chicago area. A couple of them were a complete waste of time, but most of them were very good! Strong references, excellent experience, very trustworthy. Call after call, interview after interview, I found myself overwhelmed with choices - how was I going to know WHICH company was THE BEST one? Then I reached Company #12. GAB IT OUT. From the moment I spoke to Linda, I was ready to put a ring on it. Her enthusiasm and excitement for her job were contagious! Her team has been together forever and they all love what they do. Linda told me she and her team are FUN, FAST, AND FANTASTIC -- so I was SOLD! For some silly reason, I still interviewed the remaining 3 companies - but everyone else paled in comparison. GAB IT OUT was the only way to go. As the big day grew closer, I was afraid maybe I had hyped them up too much in my mind? I mean... could ANYONE really be that good? YUP! For an extremely reasonable rate, Linda, her sister and 2 other organizational wizards stormed through the3400 sq. ft. house and: -Unpacked, broke down, and recycled every box -Organized every drawer, cabinet and closet -And arranged every sofa, chair and bookcase in - are you ready for this - SEVEN HOURS. SEVEN FREAKING HOURS! They worked about 4 hours on Day 1, and 3 hours on Day 2. Can you believe that??? Linda was 100% right: They were SUPER Fun. LIGHTNING Fast. AND FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. I cannot say enough good things! So if you are looking for someone to help you with your stuff - look no further. Hey - I already did all the work for you! FIFTEEN companies and Gab It Out is by far the stand out. They're so good, they got me off my lazy butt to post my first review. And THAT is good. read more

Gab It Out - Before & After - Home Organization Near Me - River Forest, Illinois

I wish I could give 10 stars to the Gab It Out team! We started working together 18 months ago when my husband and I decided we wanted to prepare to downsize. We had a big house with numerous closets/storage areas that we'd been in for 25 years and we knew we needed help. Even though we didn't know where we would eventually move to, Linda suggested we start then and tackle each area of the house working from the basement up. We followed her advice and it was not overwhelming at all. They have such an effective process for paring down, purging, decluttering, it was actually fun and rewarding! The ladies are super-efficient, super-fun and non-judging. They roll up their sleeves and get down to business. They get rid of your stuff for you, and let me tell you, that is a godsend. We could not believe how much they could accomplish in so little time. Ultimately, we did find a condo to move to, half the square footage of our home, and when we did we were prepared. Our home was basically staged because of all the work we had done. As we were finishing purging, they suggested they just start packing the items we used less frequently. Voila! We didn't have to hire movers to do that and these ladies were WAY faster than any movers I've ever worked with. They also unpacked after our move and organized the new place at the same time. Highly, highly recommend these ladies for jobs big and small. read more

Before hiring Gab It Out, I lived in fear visitors would stop by unannounced. It was as if I had a sign on my front door saying, "Go Away. No one welcome. Beware of Junk"! All that has changed since Gab It Out spent two days with me gently guiding me to an organized, spacious home. Linda and her Dream Team gave me my walk-in closets, dressers drawers and kitchen cabinets back. Now, I can even see my floors! The Gab It Out ladies are kind, friendly non-judgmental professionals who let me open my front door and hang a Welcome sign! 5+ Stars read more

Excellent service, reasonably priced. They are great at what they do and give you the tools to remain organized after they leave.

Linda and her team helped declutter/organize/begin the packing process/ and stage my condo for our move. Our realtor was even impressed by the progress the team helped us make in order to put our home for sale. Thank you ladies! read more

These ladies helped me get rid of clutter, organize and pack in advance of a move. They were hard-working, professional, fun and motivating. They pushed me to let go of items that I didn't need but respected my wishes to keep certain things for sentimental reasons. I used the for my basement and am having them come back for more. Highly recommend. read more

GAB IT OUT (their tagline is "Garage, Attic, Basement, We Will Talk You Through Your Clutter!") is a godsend. The GAB girls (2 sisters and a friend) are so fun and helpful. They work closely with clients to de-stress life by working through clutter and creating simple, clear, creative environments. I regained a lot of space in my small condo, and had fun doing it. Their fee is totally worth it when you think of how much square footage you can regain, not to mention peace of mind. They are the best. read more

Gab It Out is an amazing organizing service. They honestly care about the client and they have a successful process to "talk you through your clutter." We have used Gab It Out for an attic, basement play room and a girl's bedroom. We absolutely love this company. Linda and her team are so hard working and motivated. They really do make sense of cleaning out and organizing. They are goal oriented so the room or area they tackle are not complete until every inch has been organized to the client's satisfaction. If we ever move, I am calling Gab It Out to help us - then I know we will only move what we really want to keep and the move will be much less stressful. I have never been sorry with any decision we made to either donate or recycle with Linda's help. I completely recommend Gab It Out for any organizing, de-cluttering or move. read more

Over the course of several years, our garage became a storage facility. We have not parked our cars in our garage in more than three years. My wife and I promised each other that we'd "work on the garage" every weekend, and years passed. We finally waved the red flag and decided to bring in the pros. Linda and her team came in with enthusiasm, compassion, and realistic objectives. In five hours, we pulled just about every item out of the garage and decided what was worth keeping, donating, or scrapping. By the end of the session, we had a garage free of clutter and we can both park our cars in there! We're beyond happy, and impressed with Gab It Out. Highest recommendation. read more

I had the Gab it Out gals over for a few hours to help me declutter. They were so helpful. They made the whole process really easy and man does my house look great. I highly recommend them for anyone...but especially those challenged in the art of purging! read more

These folks are amazing! They provide a "colonoscopy" for cluttered spaces! :-) I retired a few years ago and wanted to transform two spaces in our home. I had a very cluttered "office" space that had become a catch-all and I had a basement area that had become the repository of too many tools that were no longer needed etc. I wanted to turn the office into a hobby space and the basement into an organized woodshop. In two very reasonably-priced days Linda, Meredith and Laura helped me get the "clutter-monkey" off my back. They use a triage method. We pulled everything out into three sortings: keep; donate; & recycle/trash. They take care of getting the 'donate' and 'recycle/trash' to the proper places and then make sure that the 'keep' items each have a new permanent home in the new space. "Everything has a place" is their mantra. By sticking to that principle you fend off re-cluttering. (No more not finding what I need which leads to buying it again and then having two things I can't find!) They are fun to work with and very efficient. They keep you involved and help you through the triage. It's a great process that leaves you feeling relieved and ready to use your old space in new and creative ways. I heard about then from a friend who had downsized and I'm already recommending them to others. I can't speak highly enough about their services! read more

Gab it Out was great. They helped me organize my laundry / utility room. I am a generally tidy person but this room had me overwhelmed. They came in and guided me through a thorough clean out and reorg. They also did a side closet while they were here. They are unstoppable organizers. An added bonus was that they took almost all of the garbage, donations etc. away with them. It was a great service from beginning to end. Can't recommend them enough. read more

Wonderful! These lovely ladies saved me and made it stress free. The job was so overwhelming for me that it would have taken weeks if not months, but these gals came in and organized my ENTIRE house after a move in 3 days. A year later & I still know where everything is. In fact, I think I'm going to have them come back for a fall cleaning! They are the best and SOOO warm and kind, they didn't make me feel like I was falling apart post-move as it can be so stressful. They put the "fun" in creating "FUNctionality" as our house finally functions in an orderly way - thanks Gab it Out! read more
