I was visiting from the Bay Area seeing family in Oxnard on June 1-5, 2025. I had on my to do list…read moreto get my speakers fixed in my 2002 Toyota Solara convertible which came up in a conversation with my oldest brother over breakfast. He said we should stop by Breakers Stereo & Performance and see what they could do. We showed up around 11 am on June 4th and approached the desk of two reps both occupied at the time. Once one was available, I told him that one of my speakers was out and wanted to get them replaced. He asked me the year and make of my car and then we went out to the car to show him the radio console so he could visually assess what they could do. What started out as speaker replacement conversation turned into looking at new Stereo options that would replace my current radio/CD/Cassette player. I decided to go with an upgrade JVC version to replace the JBL radio/CD/Cassette option that gave me a screen with all the bells and whistles including a camera option for parking which I did not have and a USB adapter for my IPhone so I could play all my music playlists. My rep told me it would take 3-4 hours for the new installation of the speakers, Stereo, Camera and adapter plus standard labor. I was beyond impressed how fast it all went. The Car was ready later in the afternoon at 4 pm so I was very pleased. Labor was half the cost of the total cost for the overall stereo speaker upgrades with 1 year warranty. Fortunately for me pulling out the old stereo and fitting in the new stereo/screen was a perfect fit. I am happy and thanked the overall team present for bringing my 2002 car up to 2025 standard of benefits of a new car. My car is not electric but I have no car payment and now I can drive with much more confidence and pleasure listening to the music that makes me happy. The drive back to Oakland was sooo much better listening to my tunes. I would recommend anyone with an older car to go into Breakers and look at the options to replace your stereo and get the camera for parking. Well worth the option. There is plenty of parking onsite and the stereo options are there for you to choose from the JVC to Pioneer. They have a waiting area with flatscreen and coffee if you need to wait. There is also Dominics Italian restaurant next door to get a beer and pizza with full Italian cuisine menu.

Informed me about the ceramic tint they carry and the cooling effects it has compared to regular tint. He had a display comparing both ceramic tint and regular tint under a light and there is a noticeable difference with the ceramic tint being cooler in temperature! I went with the ceramic tint, much more beneficial in keeping the car cooler! Fast work, good price!

Install was ok, biggest issue I had was that I asked them to wire my setup a certain way, and…read moredidn't end up wiring all the speakers. Instead of confirming with me, they didn't wire in all speakers (door mid bass fill). I went to pick up my car and asked if there was anything left, to which they replied no it should be in the car itself. I supplied all materials, and was in a rush so I trusted everything would be inside. Didn't see the rest of my cables, or any additional fuses/ fuse box holders/ 0 gauge to 4 gauge terminal downsizers so I assumed everything had been installed. I come to find out that they DID indeed have extra boxes and things left over but had been thrown out per their discretion. This was installed on Saturday, and they did not open on Sunday so I had to call back on the next week. ALL my things were thrown out and I had been told there was nothing else. Car sounded horribly unoptimized, regardless of a cookie cutter eq they put of unbalanced bass/mids/highs. Didn't bother to set gains on subwoofer, didn't bother setting proper HPF/LPF settings on 4 channel they were installing, did NOT replace the small 4 GA CCA wire that I had mentioned i want to 0 gauge OFC wire, and still had the attitude to tell me that the reason why they didn't wire in the mid bass speakers on the door was because of "poor output" and that "the subwoofer was going to sound louder so why bother". On top of that, I had to pay an additional $70 for them to wire them in after initial $400 setup fee and an extra $40 for Y- adapters to place on RCA from head unit. Overall, poor communication, will not come in for further work and I suggest you visit elsewhere for your audio needs. I feel robbed of coming to this place.
